Went in Game today and they still want £35 for Legends. In the middle of a recession, with the january sales on and the rest of the high street dying on its arse I call that exceptionally optimistic.

I probably wouldn't spend more than £3 on it. It'll take me about 6 hours to complete, I assume. 50p per hour seems fair, although I wouldn't be in a rush to play it, even if someone gave it to me for free. I think it's destiny I won't be playing this game, although I thought the same about GE:Reloaded. I got that for £7. £7 badly spent. I'd have cried for days if I'd paid £50 for it.

I'd have paid £200 for GE64 back in the day, and I was 13 when that came out. At 29, if I'm not prepared to spend £5 on a game, maybe EON desperately need to rethink their gaming strategy. Maybe give it a rest for a few years.

I agree with you about GE: Reloaded. I paid £10 and wouldnt call it value for money.

Back in the day I worked a weeks overtime solely to buy and N64 and GE and that did cost me £200.

You sum it up perfectly when you say if not even us hardened Bond fans are prepared to pay a fiver then who will?

EON need a new head of marketing - goodbye Mr Wilson.

That's how I feel: if they made such a product that incredibly loyal Bond fans won't buy, they really need a change. I managed to watch the first few minutes of the SF DLC last night, and I had to stop watching. It was so embarrassing.

There is nobody out there 'waiting' for a Bond game. Not in the same way Rocksteady have made 'Batman', a must-have franchise. They should think long and hard about where the licence ends up next. They don't need the money, SF made sure of that.

In the same way we had a 4 year transition to Dan, they should spend the next few years making sure they provide a top-end product. Not something derivative, something that will make people sit up and take notice. Bond FPS doesn't cut it for me anymore. They need a new genre and a new approach. They've nothing to lose.

I was in Manchester not that long ago visiting my sister and her kid.

I was helping my sister with her shopping and she picked up 007 Legends thinking she'd get it for the kid as a christmas present (he was having a bit of a Bond craze after I took him to see SF and got him TND on DVD). But me being the brilliant loving uncle that I am explained to her how crap it was meant to be, so I saved little Tyler from playing Legends and she got him FIFA instead.

My point is, what about all the well meaning parents/uncles and aunties/grandparents that don't have brilliant Bond loving brothers to explain to them how crap Legends is? I feel sorry for those children. The unsuspecting kids who woke up early on christmas day, unwrapped the new Bond game and ended up with the pile of sh*te that was 007 Legends.

Apparently my mum asked my girlfriend if I owned it, if not, she was aiming get it as a Christmas gift. Thankfully my girlfriend relayed the message, to which I demanded she immediately call my mum, and stop her before it was too late.

If they have to have a current gen Bond game, track down Quantum. Of a ropey bunch, it's still the best, despite being the oldest. I just with Bizarre had been given enough time to tidy up Blood Stone....and remove that bloody grain filter!

He'll thank you when hes older. What a good uncle.

I would say practically the only people who bought this pile of shite were well meaning grannies who hadnt got a clue and just wandered into Game and naively asked if they had a Bond game for sale.

It would be nice to think someone from EON is reading this thread just so they can appreciate how spectacularly they have dropped the ball here.

So it's my birthday and it's going quite well. I've got some good presents including a nice new watch and a bottle of Jim Beam. I return home from work to find that my dad has sent me something. I began to open the parcel and I realised it was a game. I was curious and I opened it fully. Imagine how horrified I was when I saw this

Yeah I still dream of Colonel Sun: the video game

A studio doing what Eon did to the fleming novels to the continuation novels Updating them for todays standards with a modern cast the current Bond doing the voice and Action (Craig is my Hope) and using the action sequences from the book as levels in the game.

They do that I GAURENTE people will be like "golden what THIS is the bond game"

    sigh

What an undignified end for Bond in videogames. I still have not bought this game, and I used to buy Bond games on day 1. I will buy it eventually, I am just waiting for the price to fall so low that I won't feel like I've been robbed.

It's unlikely to fall below 50 pence.

According to a recent search, it's finally under $10 here in the US. Am I going to buy it? No. Why? Because I have better things to buy, like Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon.

007 Legends won't be the last Bond game, I mean come on. We just have to hope that the license will go to a talented team this time.

But it won't. Bond games now only represent a marketing tool to tie in with the latest movie release. A rushed production, cutting corners just so the game can hit the shops as the film hits the cinemas. I'd rather not have a Bond game at all if they're anything like the last few we've had.

@WillyGalore, I haven't even played the last few because of the reviews and how terrible they've looked. They look like a waste of time to me.

The same was said when Activision got the licence*. But Bond is now seen as a cash cow for lazy developers.

*At least EA gave us Nightfire & Everything Or Nothing, imo.

Unfortunately I'm always gullible enough to buy them. GoldenEye Reloaded was the best of them but still not a patch on the original. QoS and Blood Stone were underwhelming and 007 Legends was just hideously awful.

I thought QoS was the best lately, with BS a good ways behind it, I played one level of GE Reloaded and hated it, and didn't even bother with 007 Legends.

You're missing absolutely nothing! I just settle for playing EoN on my PS2.

Yeah I agree. QoS is probably the best Bond game of the last 5 years and that's not saying much. These cash cow titles deserve so much more, the spider-man games are another example. With the gaming industry going into new and deeper territory, substandard efforts for such lucrative properties like Bond should and will not be tolerated. Put out a shitty product and expect to face unsurprising consequences.

I felt Blood Stone was a decent game, and the only one of the bunch that wasn't a COD clone. But EA should have never let the license go.

I'm just tired of playing on such advanced machines that produce such mediocre products. Some 360 games I've played for achievements are downright jokes, and I can't believe that people were paid to create the aforementioned products.
