Votes are still possible until Saturday evening.
    Here is my one:
Pam for me. I'm not only a big fan of Davi's performance but also of these two bondgirls. Lupe is “very sexyful“ but not much more. Pam has very different looks in the movie. She is tough, stunning and the stronger and more interesting character.

Locque's death deserves to be the winner in this battle. The scenery is great (apart from the quick change between night and daylight) and would be fantastic with every Bond actor.
However, to see how Killifer begs for life and is eaten by the shark who nearly killed his betrayed friend is VERY satisfying for me. As it was mentioned before, Killifer was a real SOB and gets what he deserves.
Strangely, I prefer the scene in german language. Sharkey says something like “ I can't even watch...the money!“ While others don't like the joke, I always had to smile there.

    Results of round 8:
    Pam wins against Lupe: 14 : 7
Killing Locque is more satisfying as Killifer's fate: 15 : 6

    Round 9:

This week is a bit different. It could be helpful (and hopefully entertaining) to watch the specific scenes once more.

    A) Which aerial shot do you prefer? Welcome to Miami (GF) vs. Kobe Rooftop (YOLT)
You can choose a winner simply because of the shot itself or you can include Barry’s score in your decision.

    B) Which brief Brosnan moment do you prefer? Adjusting the tie during the tanker chase vs. waiting in the hotel room for the enemy (finally Paris enters the room)

You can compare the aerial shots here:

    from 1.10

    Brosnan moments:
    adjusting tie at 4.30

GSR, you have managed to turn a somewhat nilly-willy concept into an interesting and enjoyable thread, congrats.

As for this round, easily Kobe and the TND sequence.

Oh now we’re talking - YOLT and Brosnan, plus videos to watch! This is fun!

Definitely YOLT for me - I absolutely loved this sequence when I first saw it on TV as a kid, the sweeping camera shot, Bond talking on a never ending line of dock workers. Of course with older more cynical eyes the ‘go-slow’ men who realise they’ve caught up with Bond too soon, and the ‘patiently waiting in line’ to attack Bond one at a time could reduce the scene to parody, but not for me! The majestic over-the-top bravado of it all, together with Barry on top form make this an endlessly entertaining winner in my parrot cage! Pass the pistachios @goldenswissroyale

As for Brosnan, I love both scenes, but the GE tie straightening is a crowd-pleaser every time! 👍

@Thunderfinger I googled the abbreviation "GSR" for a minute before I got it.

I'm glad you liked this round.

Should I change the title from "adjusting" to "straightening"? My english isn't good enough to see the difference.

Kobe Rooftop for being one of the most artistic moments in all of Bondom.

TND, 'cause Brozz looks like a badass.

No, ‘adjusting’ is perfectly fine, that was just me not going back to check which phrase you’d used - sorry! :)

The first one is hard for me. Initially, I was going to say YOLT as that's a very memorable and unique moment. However, I love how everything is choreographed together slightly better in GF. First the skyline, then go around the building and zoom in on the diver watch him make the dive and the switch to the underwater view then pan to Felix. Very slick. So gonna go with Miami.

For me the GE Tie Adjustment is just pure fun.

I love the Miami set up, the plane banner telling us where we are, the shot of the Fontainebleau Hotel along with John Barry's wonderful soundtrack.
But the shot of Bond running on the roof of Kobe docks, with the men chasing him along with another John Barry classic, is my favourite of the two.
(We as fans were so lucky to have John Barry score so many Bond films. His contribution is immeasurable.)

The second match is really a case of nostalgia. Both are great, but I remember the reaction Bond straightening his tie on first viewing had on myself and the rest of the audience.

Man...I love the enter Miami moment...the music has been my ringtone for years now! But the Kobe docks aerial shot is one of the highlights of the entire series. The music is majestic and the shot...As if God himself has taken a break to watch Bond in action. Amazing moment capturing Bondmania at its zenith.

GE tie straightening probably wins it. I like the TND moment as it harks back to DN but by the same token it isn't quite as novel as the tie straightening which is memorable and a real highlight of Brosnan's era.

Kobe docks without question. In a film filled with some of the best cinematography in the series this is a standout. Barry's rousing action version of the theme tops it off perfectly. The GF Miami music is just a little too jazzy and over the top, which is probably the worst thing I'll ever say about a Barry score.

Waiting in the hotel. Just a great scene that screams Bond in a film that is often viewed as just wall-to-wall action.

I have to say, I'm amazed so many are picking the tie straightening. We're talking a moment straight out of Fleming vs. a throwaway moment. The tie straightening is amusing, I'll give it that, but some are treating it as almost a keynote moment in series history. Given it returns in the Q boat scene in TWINE it comes off as a gimmick to associate with Brosnan's Bond.

Back to the Kobe docks scene, I'd take Connery's scene of tie and cuff straightening after diving into the boxes as more effective than the tank version.

Wow those 2 ariel shots are some of the besrt cinematgraphy in the entire series, but I have to go with Kobe docks. Both Barry tracks that go with it are incredible too, and if we added those to the full shot, it would still be YOLT.

Brosnan in hotel room for sure.

If I was basing it on the music alone, GF would win, but the Kobe Docks sequence offers the better overall package. The idea to pan the camera away from the action and offer a full view of the rooftops was brilliant. It had to be perfectly choreographed to work and of course it was. It's perfect.

The tie straightening bit was amusing, but Brosnan waiting in the hotel room was one of the few times they tried to "go deep" with his Bond and it actually worked for me. I love the DN callback and honestly the whole scene is a wonderful piece of acting by Brosnan that he doesn't get enough credit for. He really sells his conflicted emotions about Paris. Shame they couldn't have found a better actress.

This is exactly why the Miami stands out. Great stuff. However, I choose the Kobe docks: I always liked that scene and it gets even better with every time I watch it. Bond movies aren't that famous for special directing/shots but that one is superbe, especially combined with the score.

The hotel scene in TND is cool, no doubt. Brosnan goes Fleming Bond. But Brosnan is the most stylish, when he destroys half of a city and adjusts his tie inbetween. 100% style and 100% fun.

Kobe rooftop, easily. The GF scenes are marred by the fact that only the fly-in shots were filmed in Miami, whereas the Kobe shot is an impressive tracking shot with some action thrown in.

The second one is a lot tougher, as both are incredible moments, but I have to go with the GE tie adjusting, it's just so cool and a perfect end cap to the action in that action.

    Round 10:

The new round starts a few hours earlier this time. I have a good reason to do so: I will meet Lynn-Holly Johnson tonight.

Skyfall is probably (one of) the most beautiful bond movies to watch. Three night scenes stand out visually: There is of course the Macau scene with Bond arriving at the casino. The other two scenes with (imo) gorgeous shots, capturing light and shadow in a fantastic way, are the Shanghai scenes and Bond’s burning home during the climax.

    A) Which scene do you prefer visually (colours, light and shadow)? Shanghai vs. Burning Skyfall

Talking about rats or bringing the right music to the final confrontation: Silva knows how to enter a scene!
    B) Which of Silva’s entrances do you prefer? Rat speech vs. Helicopter arrival

    shanghai

probably best bits: 0.00-00.30 (buildings); 1.39 (traffic); 6.00-8.00 (fight and jellyfish)

    burning Skyfall:
    0.00-2.10

    Rats:

    Helicopter arrival

Shanghai (even thought most of the filming was in England) and definitely Silva’s rat story - simply can’t take my eyes off him all the way through that scene - endless rewatch value!
