Indeed I was jesting. I have no doubt however that there is a risk of future spin offs when the multi-year distribution deal is hatched down the road, and if it's with WB, at least the risk of a LEGO Bond film. If MGM sells itself to a powerhouse post-B25, then I can see quite a few changes in time.

EDIT: Another reason I see Sony as the most likely candidate is they need this badly right now. WB has enough on its plate and Universal has its hands full as well. I can't see them giving Bond the attention Sony did.

You know, I actually wouldn't completely hate a LEGO Bond movie. It would be neat to see a humorous Bond parody that actually has Bond as a character in it, that isn't the atrocity that is CR '67.

Something that I wouldn't mind also was that if WB does acquire a deal with MGM and EON that maybe we could see proper animated R rated adaptations of Flemings Novels, and have them stick close to the books. WB Animation has recently sort of been trending that ground a bit with their DC based features. If EON/Bond does fall into WB's hands, this would certainly be welcoming in my opinion.

Interesting. That would certainly please the Fleming purists. I wouldn't watch, but they would likely be quite happy.

Exactly, deep down who doesn't want to see stories like Moonraker and YOLT properly adapted and faithful in ways the actual films weren't.

Animated Fleming adaptations are an interesting idea, I just wouldn't think of Warner when I imagined it. They aren't very good at animation in my eyes, and have very stiff and lifeless creations coming out of that division that all look the same. I'd like the Fleming Bond films to look extremely stylized and vibrant in how Bond's world was painted, in order to make the fantastical nature of them have a warm home. I just don't think Warner with its very meek and reigned in style with muted color and minimal dynamic imagery would be the ones to give us what we want.

I hold out for the day when we get live action miniseries adaptations of Fleming's books down straight down the middle with no censorship and with each book getting 4 or more one hour episodes to tell the stories for the required dozen or so series (each series being one book each) from Casino to Golden Gun.

I just don't think EON would back it, not only because they would be allowing another team to adapt ideas from Fleming they could still use in the films, but also from the risk that the show could overtake interest in the films.

One article says that Craig has an opening in his schedule where he could shoot 25, when is that opening?

@talos7, outside of the shooting for the show Purity that Dan will do in the next few months, he has nothing on his schedule. We just don't know how long Purity's shooting schedule is going to be. But it's certain that after that ends, he has no other commitments lined up.

But Eon made a number of those since 1967.

Ethan Hunt and Mission: Impossible are already part of the LEGO universe, not to mention, thousands of other franchises, so why not Bond?

We should be hearing news on Bond 25 imminently, if that Twitter account is to be believed...

True, but none have reached the level of self referential humor that would be possible with a LEGO Bond movie. What I'm envisioning would basically be Johny English with Bond in it.

Basically - someone (not Craig) has officially signed on to Bond 25 which basically means - Craig is back or at least EON are fully intending to have him back.

    According to Google Translate:
    Information NOT official

From File 007 we can inform you that we have the "full certainty" that Daniel Craig will return as James Bond for Bond 25.

As a reference James Bond fan club aimed at the character's followers, we do not need to call attention unnecessarily, we do not want to question the possible good reputation that we can have and, above all, we do not want to deceive our followers . That is why we are going to give you all the information that we can well publish without compromising our source, and then you decide whether to believe or not.

Has Daniel Craig signed for Bond 25?

We did not say that at any time. In fact, we have no idea whether he has signed or not.

    What is your source?

Our source is intimately related to the production of Bond 25. In fact we did not leak the data, rather escaped in an informal conversation. Be that as it may, you will understand that we can not reveal who it is because it could be fulminantly dismissed.

We are very angry to have to express it in these terms, we know the unpleasant feeling of distrust that occurs when other media report based on a "source of production", but we can not compromise it.

    It's official?

Do we look like EON Productions or Daniel Craig? Well, that. It's NOT official.

So why do you claim that Daniel Craig returns?

Because this source intimately linked to the production of Bond 25 accidentally let loose that he has signed a contract which makes us think, with almost certainty, that Daniel Craig will return to Bond 25.

I do not understand, how do you come to such a conclusion?

By deduction. We give you an example. When you reserve the domain for Bond 25 you know that the movie will be made with absolute certainty, right ?. Well, that's just what happened. That contract (which is not Craig's), logically, leads to the conclusion that Daniel Craig will return as James Bond once again.

So the pre-production of Bond 25 is underway and everything could indicate that in 2018 could be released. We will keep on reporting.

    This is legit.
  • So according to Archivo 007, someone (who is not Daniel Craig) signed a contract for Bond 25, and something in that contract makes clear that Craig is returning. Exciting if valid. I hope official news will roll out soon.

Not that I know anything, but it seems exciting news are coming.
  • So Craig’s stunt is signed on..

  • So Craig’s stunt is signed on..

    Possibility.

Now I just need to hear that Nicholas Dodd has signed on and I'll be a happy camper. ;)

Craig is out, so they signed his stunt double as the new Bond.

All this news doesn't mean its Craig who has signed.

They could have locked the stuntman down because they work for multiple stars so they didn't want to run the risk that the chap goes elsewhere for work - as an example Craig's old body double did work for Hemsworth as well and we know he will be busy with Infinity Wars in the future.

Who is Craig's current stunt double anyway?

Isn't Infinity Wars being filmed already? They're haflway into production, if my memory serves me right.

Possibly, I'm not sure. I don't even think the old stunt double (who used to do work for Hemsworth) is the current guy anyway (I was just using it as an example).

I think this is the current chap but I could be wrong:

Agreed, although it makes it much more likely. Stunt doubles do work for many actors and the good ones are in high demand. Gordon Alexander has doubled for quite a few actors, including Craig. He's also a budding actor himself.

Craig is all but officially returning.

As I said, it's much more likely.
