What is the Pre-Titles sequence with the least amount of spoken words?

I would guess at either LALD or Spectre, maybe FRWL thinking about it....

LALD has the hungarian guy talking.

QOS: "It's time to get out" plus a few sentences by the police

    I'd say QoS.

GF is another one to consider.

Also TB, OHMSS, MR, OP, and AVTAK.

    It's probably QOS though.

Anybody want to count them? ;)

"The fried mushroom looks terribly interesting!"

What is Goodnight getting at here? I've never known.

She is trying to get Bond's attention, hence her forced speech.....she wants him to do something instead of just sitting there..she was naïve till the last.

No, remember when Scaramanga says "watch that mushroom shaped rock." Well, Goodnight was trying to tell Bond there was something in the rock, not knowing Bond had already been shown what was inside. That's why he replies "Yes I noticed that myself" or something similar.

The trumpets that start at 0:40 seconds in this JMY remix, what score were they originally from, if any? I can't place that music cue.

@BMW_with_missiles, that's from Die Another Day. The track known as "Ice Palace Car Chase".

@ClarkDevlin YES! Thank you! I had a feeling it was from DAD, but I couldn't narrow down a scene. Man I miss David Arnold.
  • You beat me to it, @ClarkDevlin! I knew it was from DAD but couldn't find the right track quick enough!

A lot of that JMY remix is from DAD actually.

In AVTAK when Bond rescues Stacey from the fire at city hall, why does he proceed to the roof. Surely exiting down the stairs would be much safer.
Is it as I suspect, just to add a bit of drama. With Bond carrying Stacey down the ladder.

I play that track on my phone quite often than anybody else, so that's how I knew, chaps. ;)

In anyways. Glad I could help! :)

Maybe he thought the fire brigade would be there and some of the floor was still on fire so it may have been too difficult to get through to the stairs?

It does add more drama though, yes.

It's a bit of a silly question to ask, that one. Presumably the stairs were on fire at the time.

Lack of air in the building. The flames and fire were sucking it all up entirely, I assume.

Sorry @Mendes4Lyfe must be a first.
There's no evidence or shot to suggest so though.
Again sorry for wasting your typing time answering said question.

No need to apologize, it's just not much of a stretch to assume that the stairs were aflame, or otherwise inaccessible, for Bond to use the roof instead.

Strangely, until I google pictured the scene I had never realised that Lenkin is the same actor from TLD where he is unceremoniously stuffed between Rosika's ample bosom.
So after the Orlov situation, Lenkin escaped to Czechoslovakia to become a pipeline technician prone to sticking his face in the cleavage of his female coworkers? "Control yourself, Lenkin!"

Moonraker was acquired with the others. They considered filming it in 1969, that and TMWTGG, but OHMSS it was.

    From Wikipedia:

"The actor John Payne attempted to take up the option on the film rights to the book in 1955, but nothing came of the attempt. The Rank Organisation also came to an agreement to make a film, but this likewise fell through.[81] The novel was not one of Fleming's stories acquired by Eon Productions in 1961; in 1969 the company acquired the rights and commissioned Gerry Anderson to produce and co-write a screenplay. Anderson and Tony Barwick prepared a 70-page treatment that was never filmed, but some elements were similar to the final screenplay of The Spy Who Loved Me."

OHMSS: Why does M congratulate Draco on "November '64. The buillon job. You got away with quite a chunk of the haul." I get that it's a GF reference but no gold was ever removed in the film.

Did Valentin use the money from that job Bond told him about in GoldenEye to start his Casino and Caviar businesses?

I'd like to think so. I'm sure the job wasn't going to pay out chump change for Bond to risk his life going into Valentin's club for a favor, so it's quite possible.
