There will be another Trek film

Without a doubt. The question is, will it be a sequel to our current trilogy or will it be new characters/cast?

I hope they keep the same crew, less Checkov of course (RIP Anton).

Personally,i have enjoyed all 3 films and bought them through SKY Box Office when they were on offer,so its archived (no memory usage) on my SKY Q box and they send the DVD's too.

I don't see why there wouldn't be a 4th film, they are popular as heck, and the characters are very approachable,as were the originals (especial Karl Urban as McCoy,he has that perfect in all ways...DeForest Kelley would be proud !)

Zachary Quinto says there's no guarantee that 'Star Trek 4' will happen:

I don t really care. I will probably watch it if it does, but I find them all so forgettable.

Nor I. The first two weren't too bad, but I was floored by how generic and forgettable 'Star Trek Beyond' was.

As entertaining as the new films have been, I feel no connection with the new timeline; what happens next doesn't matter to me. I'm far more curious and hopeful for the new series that takes place in the "Prime' timeline.

Well, not being too familiar with any of of the series after the original ones, the original film series and this latest re-vamp (although i have watched the New Generation films but no more thsan that) i dont see a problem with them, but im only telling you how an average fan feels.

You guys have obviously seen the lot so know more about timelines, crossovers or and things.

Kelvin timeline films are mixed though I enjoy them all, different films to the great Shatner films though I am happy Star Trek is still around.

Why is it called Kelvin timeline?

In universe reason? Because the destruction of the Kelvin is what created the alternate universe. PR reasons? Nobody really knew what to call it. NuTrek, J.J.Trek, Abramsverse...ect. It just needed a name. :))

What's great about the original series run of films is any imagery from each film is instantly recognisable and identifiable.

Agreed, for most of the wallpapers I made, I just used various stills from the films to make the backdrops with.
