@Germanlady, I'm not moving anywhere, we continue "neighbours".
Right now I'm having a lot of work, I'm also training a new person, so I don't have a lot of time to spare. And to be honest these forums are running a little out of control... unfortunatly. But I stick to The Girls Room ;)

Well, I like a lot of the writing; I did not say it was bad, just not great in parts. Mostly I liked it a lot. I did enjoy all 3 books - I think you will enjoy the other 2 even more. Go get The Girl Who Played With Fire today! :)
My father got them previously, and they are all on the bookshelf. I am just tempted by other books at this time.
Well, I have not seen the documentary only read some articles. They never married, she did not receive anything (funds, profit from books, assets, etc.) after he died because of Swedish law (being unmarried) - but they were together for about 30 years. So that is one issue, one sore point. Stieg's father and (I think) brother are in charge of his estate and have only bitter and awful things to say about her (sorry I do not remember her name). Both sides are claiming a 4th book or portions of it that Stieg had either written some of or had notes for.
It is just sad he died, too young, and before he saw his stories published and become so popular. I think if there were a complete or even partially complete 4th book it would have been published by now (he died in what? 2006?). Some characters, like Lisbeth's twin sister whom she despises (Camilla) would have been interesting to read about in future stories (I was sure she would turn up). We won't know now, and the acrimony is so bad among Steig's partner and his blood family that any sort of compromise, or even going forward to let other author's step in and continue the characters, seems dead in the water. I wish they would let someone else pen the next book, but that is just me as a fan wanting to read more. I enjoyed the characters a lot.
Here's hoping to two more great films with Craig and Mara at least. :)

Watched the 2nd Sherlock Holmes film (Game of Shadows) on Saturday and enjoyed it more than the first one. I do so like Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law together. Looking forward to the 3rd installment.

@Lord - no, I never was inspired by the Bond girls. I suppose it has to do with them being sexy vamps and even though I am not shabby, I couldn't match them. So - I always did stick to my sort of clothes but admired them nevertheless ;)
Sometimes it's subconcious. I think I shared this when it happened but I'll tell the story again. In April I had a congress in Sweden and I was told there was a swimming pool in the hotel and everyone was planning on going. I didn't bring any swimwear when I moved to Germany and it was the day before the flight, I had less than an hour before the shops closed to buy something. I decided on swimsuit, thought bikini was a tad too much (or too little) for professional setting. Grabed a handfull in a department store and hit the fitting room. Between wrong sizes (why are sizes in Germany bigger? And why do all the clothes seem to be made bigger anyway?) and acrobatic achievements I managed to get out with room with one item before the store closed, without really taking a good look at it. When I got home and decided to put it on again just to see how it looked and I realized it was the same model as Domino's single-strap black swimsuit, sans transparency. I wasn't thinking of getting a swimsuit like that but that was what I ended up with. Why? Because somewhere in my mind it's imprinted "that's how a beautiful swimsuit should look like, like Domino's".
An example of a fun and over-the-top dress was Onnatop's in Goldeneye at the casino; She looked wicked, like a shiny wicked witch (especially the neckline). I'd never wear it but it was so fun because it suited her character.
I do enjoy looking at the beautiful, elegant and sexy gowns and dresses/suits the bond ladies wear in different films. I notice them all; I guess some of my favorites are Anya's from The Spy Who Loved Me, Vesper's in CR, Kara's in TLD, and Melina's simple cotton dress in FYEO (at the hotel, a daytime dress but fitted perfectly and flowed; I also like what she wore at the vegetable market).
And do you remember, did you read, that Jackdagger actually sewed her own Solange dress (CR) and posted a pic on the thread about post a picture of yourself. It's beautifully made! I can't sew.
I always look forward to the costumes and style in Bond films, for the women and the men (especially Bond of course). I think Severine will have some amazing clothes, don't you? I can't wait for this film! Should be a great one.
