I'm all for the DBS to return, but if Bond is going back to his roots in this movie, then let's go back to Fleming. I'd like to see the 'battleship grey' Bentley convertible from the novels. Or if it's something modern: maybe the sleek 1999 Bentley Hunaudieres? Here's my ideas:

If Bond's ancestral home is shown = an old Bentley convertible.

If Bond's car has gadgets = AM DBS (as we haven't seen this model outfitted with weapons yet).

If Bond's car DOESN'T have gadgets = AM Volante from TLD.

If the DBS returns, I'd like to see more of the black one. Gunmetal grey looks awesome, but there's something about a black DBS that appeals to me. It looks kinda stealth. Also, I'd be pleased if a Lotus returned.
  • When I spoke with an Aston Martin marketing manager the other month, she told me that the contract between Aston Martin and the James Bond franchise had ended with Quantum of Solace, but that both parties are eager to renew the contract. If Bond stays at Aston Martin, I'm pretty sure that Ulrich Bez would love to ditch the DBS in favour of the V12 Zagato. The Zagato will launch in the autumn of 2012, Bond 23 does as well. Coincidence? I think not.

As far as other brands concerned, I think that a return to Bentley would be a great tribute to the Bond that Ian Fleming created (Casino Royale novel). In that case, the new Continental GT would be a perfect new Bondcar, just as Jeffery Deaver pointed out in Carte Blanche. It's nice to read that a lot of you guys would love to see Bond drive a Lotus...but I'm afraid that the current lineup of cars does nut include a worthy successor of the Esprit.
  • i may be the only one to think this but I would love to see bond drive a lambourgini.

I'd also like to see bond have an awesome bike in this film. we know hes gonna use one at some point when he jumps onto the train, rather than have him just steal one from a passerby, lets say he has his own.

this is the ducati superbike, and its awesome. i would love to see this in a bond film. Maybe bond is involved in a motorbike chase pursuing a train, while he himself is purused by henchmen. Bond escapes the henchmen by jumping the bike onto the train.

First time I've seen that AM Zagato, and I have to say I like it- although I'm not a big fan of the tail lights. Considering the film is the 50th anniversary, I feel it should just be a DB5 and a Bentley.

I love bikes too, but I don't know much about different models. For me, any bike is cool. When was the last time Bond was on a superbike- NSNA? Was that even a superbike? I'd like to see a chase scene with both Bond AND the enemy on bikes. Don't recall that being done yet.

The DB5 is bond's personal car, remember? So use it for that.

The Zagato as the main car.

Bond escapes the villen's lair in a continental.

    Simple

Oh, that's right. The DB5 was just for picking up babes in between missions. Well it needs to have a cameo like in TND. End scene: Bond and his girl get cozy in the Bentley as the villain's lair mushroom clouds behind them. Yeah, I can see that happening.

Rather than a sports car, which seems to be the norm for Bond, how about something a little different.

With or without gadgets, entirely optional.

It's a valid suggestion, I can't see why Bond can't have a more 'ordinary' car for a change.

That's a relief. I'd rather 'Q' branch not be staffed with the likes of his dad or uncle.

The Sun is reporting Bond will drive a Range Rover and Jaguar during BOND 23. I won't post the article, because it's a tabloids and because it's spoilerish.

The Sun's news about the vehicles is interesting as Ford's three film contract for product placement expired after "Quantum of Solace". Range Rover is produced by Land Rover, who is owned by Tata Motors of India. Jaguar is also owned by Tata.

It's not lost on me. But assuming The Sun's article is based in some kind of truth, and reading between the lines a little, a car like the Aston Martin would be inappropriate for the reported sequence, so they evidently needed something new. Prodrive don't produce anything outside the Aston Martins, so EON evidently had to looke elsewhere. I know that sounds vague, but I don't want to post spoilers without spoiler tags. Do we have those, and if so, how do I use them?
  • Fiat 500 Cabrio with appropriate mods by Q of course (breathalyzer start, capuchino maker, matching color polo shirt). Tooling around Istanbul with the top down in this "cute" car which brings smiles to all it passes and puts a permanent scowl on Danny boy's face. It's his punishment from Q branch for destroying the DBS.

^ I can so imagine that...

Since the scene in question supposedly calls for a Jaguar and a Range Rover, here are a few suggestions:

    Jaguar XJ
    image

    Jaguar XF
    image

But I'd also like to see Bond in something other than a current model of car. QUANTUM OF SOLACE did it when Bond "borrowed" the four-wheel drive in Haiti; it was a 1995 model ... something, I think. It fit in with Haiti; obviously you can't expect sports cars in the middle of Port-au-Prince. But nor is central London-Islington populated by Aston Martins and other high-end cars, and if Bond is forced to take the first car available at any given time, then he can't simply expect for there to be a sports car at hand. So i'd like to see an older-model car, like the first generation Land Rover Freelander:

And he won't look like Wayne Rooney.

Are you talking to me @Shadowontheson???

Because if you are YES HE WILL!!!!
Yes he will what? Look like Wayne Rooney by driving a decade-old SUV?

Also, I'm not talking to you specifically. I'm just posting in general - Bond is supposedly driving two different cars in this sequence, so I'm making suggestions for what he could use: a mid-range luxury sedan and a well-loved SUV.

I would love to see Bond behind the wheel of a Jag. I hope this is true.

Why don't try a Japan Production Car like Toyota, Suzuki,or Daihatsu, even Nissan. Daihatsu has launched a new car called All New Sirion, it's a compact and fast car, maybe quite match with Bond, here's the link

Oh no, not a Japanese car. Reliable they may be, but aestheticly pleasing they are not. I'd rather see Bond use the DBS again, than see him in a Japanese marque.

Why you chose the Jag XJ and XF as examples is beyond me, unless of course the scene asks for a regular family car. Jaguar has much better things to offer:
    The C-X16...
    image
... or the XKR, although it looks a bit dated already:
    image
As for a Range Rover, really only the Evoque should be in Bond movie:

Of course it would be nice to have some eye-candy in a car scene, that's why I would prefer if family cars and dated models could be avoided.

I'd say this is much more likely. Not everyone in London drives current-model sports coupes.

It looks pretty enough, but I wouldn't go near it. It was designed in conjunction with the Williams Formula 1 team, and their last few cars have basically been thirty million dollars' worth of ballast.

    Fixed.

Don't worry, outside Britain, few people would actually know who that is nor what cars he drives around in.

Well, I find the Evoque to be a little overbearing. It's like Range Rover tried to built a sports car and a four-wheel drive at the same time.

A guess would be that they are not assigned cars to Bond, but he "picks them up" while in pursuit.

shadow they are common here they are called cross overs...its misses beckham's designing....

PLEASE let it be true that AM and Fawrd is out! C-X16 all the way....

Aston Martin is not out. Their three-film contract expired with QUANTUM OF SOLACE, but it can be renegotiated.

I haven't seen Bond driving Ferrari car. I believe this Italian Car is compact, fast, and sophisticated enough. If not Ferrari then, maybe McLaren cars, it's more than just fast and beautiful.
