It is possible to like both Roger Moore AND Daniel Craig.

    Just throwing it out there.

I do - even though, they ARE so different. Absolutely disliked Daltons take on it, even though, he is closer to DC - go figure.

So OP would be the best Bond film for them - a mix of pure comical scenes in India and more serious, tense scenes in Germany in the 2nd part of the film.

Fell over this and it might serve as a perfectly nice fantasy for some here thinking about him doing that. Outch, I suppose...

And I stipulate that you are a very big deal online, plus I accept that my idea lost a contested outcome which you now assert as complete vindication of your superiority over me.

Am I the only one here that likes all the bonds???
  • It is so funny to see comments about Craig's films be depressing, boring, and lifeless. How are they any of those things? They have depth, tension, and show a Bond with a past that pushes him forward that we don't know about. He is a cold man who still tries to love a woman who breaks his heart. That certainly isn't lifeless and the action is NEVER boring, so I don't understand some of you people. The Craig films are the best we've had in a decade+. It is sad to see people that think if the Bond theme featured during action scenes then everything would be fine with the action scenes and CR and QoS. So, Craig's films have showed how low the franchise has gone? Really? Craig's films have been a savior. He gave us one of the greatest films in the franchise, a great performance, and after Brosnan took his last stand the future was in limbo for Bond. Thanks to Craig's great work we have had a good meat of Bond work. But, people will always pick. Some just don't like Craig and even if Skyfall is a flawless film come Oct 26-Nov 9 2012, they will still complain because they refuse to see the greatness in the film. I say let Craig do one after Skyfall for sure and hopefully one or two after that if at all possible. Craig should get a Bond film for the one he missed in 2008-2012.

I like craig but I think his films do need SOME livening up and more bond traditions, hopefully we'll get that in skyfall

I actually laugh WITH films like DAD, MR and YOLT, and not at them. Sorry if you don't to the same. And IMO the Bond franchise isn't meant to be taken seriously. For me the franchise should be populated only by MR's, YOLT's, DAF's, DAD's, TMWTGG's... For me Bond was never meant to be serious, dark and realistic. Even the Fleming novels are closer to TMWTGG and DAF than CR. I love to laugh and have fun when watching Bond films. I never took Bond for a serious, dark or realistic character of film. For me Roger Moore is the ultimate Bond.

To each is own I guess, but that´s what´s fun about being a Bond fan, we each have our views on things. I happen to agree with Agent007391, but I respect your opinion as well DaltonCraig007, even if I think you´re bonkers. ;) Cheers old chap.

I agree, everyone is entitled to have their opinions without the sarcasm/baiting that ensues in some of the replies I've read on here. The majority of people have their nemeses although at this point the simple way is not to respond to them. I don't.
This is a great forum, let's try to continue that. I appreciate it. :D

I do. Playing Bond has given each actor a chance to leave their mark. Each actor appeals to the various moods I can have, that's the beauty of this franchise. Agreed, there are some films I prefer over others.

I like Lazenby a little less than the others, but I like all the Bonds. Craig just happens to be my favorite.

Ditto. Craig isn't my favourite but I am warming to him a bit more.

As much as I love Daniel Craig as Bond I simply don't see this happening. He's not aging as gracefully as Moore or Dalton as he's only 43 and is starting to show some age. Imagine what he'll look like at 50. Ideally I'd like to see him do 5 films in total. Assuming they follow the 2 year trend for Bond 24 he'll be 46 and Bond 25 he'll be 48. I think at that point he should retire as he would have been Bond since October of 2005 and for 11 years.

I agree on Moore and on 4 to 5 films, but not on Dalton. ;) IMO he looks better now then he did, when he started with Bond.

I don't rate them- they're all brilliant in their own way.
  • why cant Bond be serious? CR has humour I think people just didnt see it

i am of the opinion that DC will do 5 pics in total. This allows us to see the new Moneypenny and Q get established, and for DC's Bond to finally take care of Mr White and the Quantum Organisation!

Please don't say that. The world is increasingly dark and depressing. Craig and his 'realistic' Bond need to go.

I never thought I'd miss Moore but there you go.

I agree. Bond movies used to be "fun" to watch. They were entertaining and an event to me. Now, all I can do is shake my head.

For what it's worth, aside from Dalton, I love all the Bond actors' versions of 007. And, I'll admit, Timbo had his moments - just not really enough of 'em for me.

And, again for it's worth, I think it's highly unlikely Craig will do a total of eight Bond films - and highly unlikely anyone involved in film financing would offer him such a deal. Frankly, I'd say nobody in the modern age'll play Bond for that long. Just look at Brosnan - after TND many would have probably expected him to have made more than four, but as we all know, that's not how it turned out.

Oh, and guys, play nice - no need to kick lumps out of each other. You know what'll happen if you carry on doing so... [-X

I love them both.. but I'm weird.

I don;t hate any bond film and if someone put on Diamonds or die another day i'd sit and watch as easily as if someone put on one of my fave the living daylights Quantum of Solace or Casino royale.

Of all those shots is it odd this is my favourite:

    http://screenmusings.org/CasinoRoyale/pages/CR_1199.htm ?

Some good choices there @PanchitoPistoles and when you compare that to Quantum Of Solace it has them, but they feel as if they are there to only pretend the film has as much style and colour, when in fact it doesn't due to it's fast pace I feel.

Of course he won't. A bit more fun and a bit taking itself so serious and we'll all be happy. But by the looks of it, Skyfall looks down beat already. Here's hoping eh?

They'll be a strong effort to push the Goldfinger feel through Skyfall I think and that'll do the film the world of good.

    Five more you say? :-?

Somehow I don't see this as a very realistic wish from Mickey G. 4th and 5th maybe. But 3 more after the fifth. Not likely.
