    Marvel Stay Winning!

Black Panther is the fist movie in SAG history to win "Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture" AND "Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture".

Just under 50% of #SAGAwards Best Ensemble winners go on to win Best Picture at the Oscars

Aquaman made more money kind of sad when a guy who talks to fish makes way more then your Black Panther :)

Actually Black Panther is still over $200 million ahead of Aquaman (1.350 billion versus 1.100 billion).

....because $1.09B is clearly OBVIOUSLY greater than $1.3B

It's pretty close though. Shocking. I still haven't seen it, but I wouldn't have anticipated its success.

Yes, biggest DC comics movie ever made (unadjusted). Rather stunning. Out of nowhere it seems like the comic book competition is hoting up!

I wonder if have so many franchises churning out films will eventually lead to burn out in another couple years?

The only DC or Marvel film I watched at the cinema last year or so was Infinity War these days I find many of the films a bit I underwhelming so I just wait for the Bluray release. Though Infinity War was great

BLACK PANTHER winning the Stunt Award ahead of FALLOUT is just baffling.

I think it will really come down to how these stories are told, and what approaches they take. While it's true that superhero films are churned out a relentless pace, the big houses tend to mix it up a bit, allowing more grounded character fare or thrillers in from time to time (like, for example, next year's Black Widow). As long as they continue in that vein, I think the public will continue to lap it up, particularly in foreign markets.

Superhero burn out and fatigue is nothing more than a myth and something people have been saying ardently since 2012 and look at where we are, Aquaman the latest comic book movie to be released grossing over $Billion. You don't make those sorts of numbers when audiences are growing fed up and tired.

Not that I'll ever watch Black Panther in a million years, but I'm genuinely curious what stunt it could've pulled off that's somehow better than, well, any of the stunts from Fallout, @CraigMooreOHMSS.

I enjoyed BLACK PANTHER, but you're right in your instinct @Creasy47 that it fails to provide anything close to the practical thrills of FALLOUT.

The highlight of the former was the casino scrap and car chase in Busan, but neither were mind-blowing sequences and the car chase was very effects heavy. Still fun all the same.

    But still.....a baffling decision.

Not that it matters to me but skyfall made 1.1 billion whereas Aquaman made 1.09, skyfall still tops and that too in 2012 without adjusting inflation.

I certainly noticed the SF parallels. I was half expecting someone to say it's a Bond rip-off, but fortunately that hasn't happened yet.

Oh, come on, a fight atop a train has been a mainstay of action movies since cinema began, including in Bond before SF. OP anyone ?
