    @TheWizardOfIce I think it's partially because we're all here we know that we all love James Bond. So lots of 'loves' are presumed.

    In part. But it's also so we can practice being evil safely. In other threads there'd be possible fights; here we can say REALLY negative stuff & totally get away with it (If we actually believe what we post or not).

    Dalton may have wanted to bring Fleming's Bond to the screen but he overacted it and was saddled with the worst director of the series.

    Said he'd never work with him again,and pulled out of the film
    Glen was making about Columbus.

    As to EON and Moore making money, well that is the idea. Can't really take that from them.

    You are not alone. The only problem with the whole scene is...wait, this a a "positivity only" discussion, sorry.

    Here it goes; Why would Bond warn his opponent that the awfully big lizard was lurking just behind him, ready to attack? The gesture Bond made, poiting his finger at "the thing" is really weird and incomprehensible.

    Now that you mention it, yes, I thought that bit as pretty wierd too when seeing it in cinemas. I was not impressed with that whole scene, including the way it ended with MP saving the day and Bond's "circle of life" line. The rest of the casino bit was ok to me up until Severine leaves.

    I promise to be negative BUT even though I stand by my opinions I don't dislike Dalton as much as I let on. Its all relative though and compared to the other Bond's and other similar movies at that time both were severely lacking.

    Not sure if I'm supposed to say this on this thread of hate and negativity, but I absolutely love this whole scene, including Barry's outstanding scoring, the infamous clown scene and the train fight. Thanks @doubleohdad for bringing a smile to my face.

    I'm happy that his flopping about gave everyone such pleasure!

    If you love this scene, there's a few Pink Panther films I could recommend to you :)

    I always thought Moore was more like Cary Grant. Old school suave ladies man with a slight edge (which admittedly disappeared the older he got).

    All the guy could do is literally quip and arch an eyebrow.


    And hit on very young women in a weird way.

    @doubleohdad, I believe you are not using the proper examples to illustrate the point you're trying to make IMO. That is an exceptional fight of the highest quality, again with superb scoring and finished off with one of the greatest quips. All you're doing with these clips is to increase my opinion of Sir Moore.
