For me I feel three things

    1. We won't get any big news apart from writers till the fall/ winter time
    2. I think Craig is waiting for a decent script before he makes up his mind he get it he is back he doesn't he is gone
    3. I feel the producers are meeting with writers to get an ideas I would expect an announcement on the writers sometime in the next two months

    I think Craig is gone.

It was reported sometime that Nolan had a chat with the producers. But, wasn't really considered. I don't think he was. For one, I don't think Nolan would continue someone's work. He'd only do it his own creation and wouldn't let anyone pick up after him.

Very true. Who would want to be left with the shitty end of the stick left by Mendes and have to dig themselves out of the narrative hole left by SP?

The beauty of Bond is that Craig could actually come back and they could completely ignore SF and SP and its not an issue. For the audience any way. Might be for Craig

Ugh watching Skyfall on Ion TV. Craig needs to play Bond again. He's just too good.

I think they need a story where Bond revives and discovers that he's been in a deep coma since the events of his torture in Casino Royale. He also learns that LeChiffre had Vesper killed in the field where he crashed. LeChiffre learns that Bond is awake and tries to kill him in the hospital, but Bond kills the baddie instead. That's the pre-credit sequence. (And viewers can take solace that all the poor plotting of the past couple of movies was basically drug-induced dreams.) After the obligatory title song by a pop star who will never be remembered (but might earn a trophy just for participating), we learn that it is a year later and Bond reports for duty, full recuperated. All is reset.

I don't care how much you liked that plot twist on Dallas, it's not good for Bond. I would never want to see a movie begin in such a way that it spits on the last few movies as being mere dreams.

Lol. Okay, I agree Agent. Then for God's sake, let's hope the filmmakers put their absolute best feet forward on the next film. :))

Well, the idea of hiring Christopher Nolan as director for the next Bond film really appeals to me. And my friend from Spy Command Blog posted this article about it:
    https://hmssweblog.wordpress.com/2016/06/10/forbes-raises-idea-of-a-nolan-directed-007-film/

There are several reasons why such a cooperation between Christopher Nolan's production company Syncopy and the Broccoli's EON Productions might actually work:

--> Warner Brothers is poised to become the next Bond film distributor. Christopher Nolan has an extensive relationship with WB.
--> Warner Brothers is currently not in shape to compete their DC Comics universe with Disney's Marvel.
--> WB's lovebaby Zack Snyder is now hugely criticized for his latest DC Comics installment "Batman vs. Superman". The film has been a financial disappointment ($872 Million) and isn't even able to outperform "SPECTRE" ($880 Million).
--> WB needs a very stable movie franchise and James Bond could be their prime target.
--> If a deal is signed anytime soon, between Warner Bros., Metro Goldwyn Mayer and EON Productions, and if that deal includes Christopher Nolan as director, then perhaps even Daniel Craig might be convinced to return for one final and 5th time (He never worked together with Nolan).

Not a fan of DC returning for a couple of reasons, but the aspect of Nolan - just because he would make a huge splash - might make me change my mind.

I think Nolan would be the perfect follow-up to the two Nolan-esque Mendes film and the equally Nolan-esque "Casino Royale". And what Bond needs now is a certain continuity....especially in style, and perhaps too in the timeline.

I would count on MGM's partnership with Disney, my reasons of why Disney should buy James Bond after four years studying the future of the new Bond distributor (and not Warner Brothers) that may actually worked:

-> Disney is the world's most powerful brand after the successful acquisitions, including Marvel and Lucasfilm.
-> The distribution company Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures may opposed to become the new James Bond distributor, under the Disney-brand, instead of Warner Brothers in order to become their prime target.
-> Disney-Marvel's 'Captain America: Civil War' have done really well with $1.0billion in the worldwide box office, the company achieved it's highest grossing films for the past nine years.
-> In 2005, Disney and MGM made the film 'The Brothers Grimm' under the Dimension Films label.
-> In 1985, Disney and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer signed a licencing contract to create a theme park of what become 'Disney-MGM Studios' (now Disney's Hollywood Studios) that opened on May 1st 1989 respectively.
-> If the deal is signed anytime soon, between Walt Disney Pictures; Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer; and EON Productions, and giving ourselves a Martian War story; Daniel Craig should return for Bond 25.

Christopher Nolan may rule out Bond again to direct Bond 25 if Disney buys it? How about we can have Rob Marshall ('Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stanger Tides') to direct Bond 25 instead!

Disney's acquisition of James Bond really appeals to me :-)

Ughhh, NEVER! No Disney! It's like selling the beloved Bond franchise to the devil. The examples you mention are pretty flawed too. The recent reshoots of "Rogue One" (a Star Wars anthology film), to make it less darker and serious, is a prime example of why Bond should never become in hands of Disney.

Through his recent posts, he rarely speaks about Bond or the franchise other than its legal and financial interests being sold to Disney, pretty much trolling anyhow.

I think 20th century fox might be the distrubter and here is why

    1. Unlike Disney and WB apart from the X-men franchises they don't really have a lot
    2. They had or possibly still have certain distinction rights for DVDs and the like with bond and MGM
    3. Mgm had a deal with fox on a few films to codistribute

Which of course means Michael Fassbender is the next 007 ;)

Actually i don't think we can really garner actor or director based on distribution deals.... Had for example BVS been a hit and people sang the praises of Snyder I highly doubt anyone would think he would direct Bond 25.

Too much IQ needed for that. Why bother, if these headlines are working just fine? :(

No real news yet it seems.

As long as he doesn't write the script and Hans Zimmer isn't forced to be Composer I'd be fine with Nolan.

Nolan represents everything that the franchise doesn't need to be right now. He's all about epic-length films with weak writing that rely on spectacle to get you through. We've had enough of that under Mendes, with Skyfall even serving as an even further homage to Nolan. EON needs to go in a completely different direction.

Yes @Jake24, Arnold will never be Barry. But no one will ever be Barry.

Arnold gets the spirit of the music and really nails it in CR and QoS. He needs to come back-- especially if Craig is returning. If I'm not mistaken he said, during the QoS production, that the music was far more "masculine" because of the leading man, DC.
