Did "M" have a burr up his ass in "The Man With the Golden Gun"? After a recent viewing of the film, I'm beginning to think he did. I'm a little puzzled by why he was so hostile toward Bond, following the assassination of that scientist named Gibson in Hong Kong. The assassination wasn't Bond's fault. Bond had followed M's order to discover who had sent him a golden bullet with his OO number carved into it. Bond had traced the bullet to Scaramanga in Hong Kong. He was simply at the wrong place and at the wrong time, when Scaramanga killed Gibson. So, why was "M" so hostile to Bond, acting as if the incident was the latter's fault?
And after all that shooting and the house crumbling into the sea and Vsper drowning, did Bond ever actually get the money back? He shoots Mr. White at the end, but I don't remember him still having the breiefcase. What happened to the money?
Mr. White had put the money in his car trunk. It's obvious that Bond saw him do this. Bond must have taken the money after shooting White and before the rendezvous with M in Siena.
The man tells him some good news about Scaramanga's whereabouts if I recall, and Lee immediately cheers up, and becomes almost pleasant and says "Well, that's something"
As with Bond himself, M works better as a no nonsense serious figure, something that Dench also did so well. Robert Brown also took this route, but was so dull with it, an almost lifeless figure
Once again and for the last time, the sinking building in Italy was quite absurd as the waters in the vicinity wouldn't have been deep enough to have accomodated it. Almost spoilt a very good Bond release, but it was a dramatic and fun sequence of events, and the Green drowning was quite touching and well done
I know that! LOL! What I'm trying to say in the simpleest terms is that Purvies & Wade should have made Gustav Graves as one person instead of him getting plastic surgery. You don't need to give me a history lesson, because I know how Colonel Moon became Gustav Graves.

This doesn't explain why M was mad at Bond over Gibson's death in "TMWTGG", when the entire incident wasn't Bond's fault.
And Robert Brown was excellent as a no nonsense "M" against Dalton's Bond.
@DRush I think Lee was just upset at losing the solex above all else, when Nick Nack came in and sneaked off with it, but Yes, it wasn't entirely Bonds fault, but will have to watch the sequence again as I haven't seen Golden Gun in some time
I didn't like Brown much at all either. Banal, mundane, totally devoid of character, it was like having a cardboard cutout on screen. Seemed a bit rushed a lot of the time also, wasn't as phlegmatic as Lee in the office, if you understand. Seemed always in a bit of a hurry I always found when Dalton was in the role
In CR, why doesn't Bond/MI6 just arrest Le Chiffre when they have the chance? I know that eventually Bond has an agreement with Felix, in that Felix will give Bond the rest of his chips while Bond allows the CIA to arrest Le Chiffre, but why would they wait until after the poker game? Its not like Le Chiffre was protected by scores of henchmen. Obanno and that other African man simply broke into Le Chiffre's room and could've easily killed him and his girlfriend.
The best answer I can think of is that they wanted to try and get the 10 million that he used for his buy-in, just so that Quantum would be out of 10 million dollars.
Maud Adams played both Andrea Anders and Octopussy..
Robert Brown played both Admiral Hardgreaves and M (although, one could say that the admiral was promoted into the position... still, nevertheless)
Joe Don Baker played both Brad Whitaker and Jack Wade..
it seems to be a trend in Bond... if they (the producers) like an actor enough, i guess they will invite them back in different roles if need be.... i have no problem with it - i think it's kind of fun in a way. lol.

Dont forget the admiral Chuck from Goldeneye was played by the same actor who appeared in Never Say Never Agian where his charater spent the duration of his scene holding Bond's Cigarette case thinking it was a bomb in a closet
What do you mean maybe he knocks Jill out? When Bond goes to the refrigerator Jill is functioning quite well, in many respects! And yes he was obviously hiding in Bond's room. My question was "How did he get there?"
What if Oddjob was in the room the whole time watching them?
An envious position for some! :\"> :))
Freud would have loved you...
"Ninjas. The art of concealment and surprise."
He is silent but deadly.
A bit like my fluffs! =))
You have more flags than the UN headquarters at the moment.
I have a sinking feeling that this is our "old friend" playing with a new persona. 8-|
While Buttons does have certain strong and inappropriate sexual tendencies that come out and play, this is just another troll, and definitely not him. For one thing, this one is at least literate. From this we can judge that he may very well be able to dress himself in the mornings, which is leaps and bounds over the abilities of Buttons.
Let's just hope he doesn't make embarrassingly hilarious videos too. :))
Anyway here's a legitimate concern. Why was Mrs. Bell put in Intensive Care? she didn't get hurt or anything.
Just trying to offer some humourous perspective on the Oddjob scene.
By all means, bitch and bitch away!
Prattling on like children, honestly.
It states that after a set amount of time when the said troll knows he or she is revealed, they will loose all inhibitions and go on a mindless tirade where they use their lacking amount of intellect to troll up the site before they are finally double tapped by the moderators and administrators. It seems inevitable that trolls will get sick of not getting attention and do anything within their limited means to attain it, though they fail every time as this fool is. It would be hilarious if it weren't so pathetic.
But seriously, that's a good question- as having the wings ripped off your plane while you're in it- and still on the ground wouldn't be as nerve-racking as being up in the air in one of those little Cessnas IMO.
I always took that line to be a sarcastic response from Felix.
Always gives me a chuckle!
Quite right, Bond is going around causing absolute bloody mayhem. The downright cheek of him then asking after Mrs Bell could only warrant a sarcastic reply.
As an aside, Mrs Bell's face at the end of her little adventure with Bond in the plane is absolute quality! "Same time next week, Mrs Bell?"
Porn and Corpses. I should start a heavy metal band because that's a great name.... :-?
I would much rather see you, @DarthDimi, @MajorDSmythe, @thelivingroyale and @chrisisall tour the world as The Daltonites!
