I've been under the weather, so I called out of work today. My wife and I have been taking it easy watching movies. I binged a few X FILES episodes, watched a documentary on Al Adamson and now I'm watching my hero, Christopher Lee in DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE.

    Oh, playlist.

Cab Calloway 'Minnie The Moocher' Extended Betty Boop Version (3:44)

    Nosferatu - Blue Öyster Cult
    Godzilla - Blue Öyster Cult
Joan Crawford - Blue Öyster Cult
Minnie the Moocher - Cab Calloway
    Hammer Horror - Kate Bush
The Day The Earth Stood Still - Wille Nile
    Zombie Zoo - Tom Petty
    Pet Sematary - The Ramones
Boris the Spider - The Who
The War of the Worlds (Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of)
Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner - Warren Zevon
Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon
Nice playlist. Forgot about that Kate Bush track. Definitely need to get some Ramones. That Cab Calloway clip was great.

Couldn't decide on a movie to watch so just continued with American Horror Story season 12, which I'm not quite enjoying as much as earlier seasons but it passes the time alright.

I picked a few things to watch yesterday, mostly as part of some ongoing 'retrospectives':
    - Halloween Kills (the extended cut)
The film has grown on me since its release. Pretty good.
    - Fright Night 2: New Blood
Nothing to boast of. Re-tells the story of the original Fright Night and its reboot. Has zero links with its predecessor despite the number 2 in the title. One of those cheapies filmed in Romania to save costs and whatnot. Could have been spiced up a little, though. Harmless, but not particularly memorable either. I like the lead vampire but this film's Peter Vincent was a letdown.
    - Maniac Cop 2
Part 2 of William Lustig's rather interesting semi-slasher trilogy, especially good for some midnight entertainment. I'm having a lot of fun seeing these Maniac Cop films again. They are far from perfect, and not remotely as well-made as Lustig's other classic, confusingly titled 'Maniac', but they keep me intrigued nevertheless.

    This year I marathoned all of the Halloween series to celebrate October and I figured why not share my rankings of the series;

    1. Halloween (1978) - 5/5 Stars
    2. Halloween (2018) - 4.5/5 Stars
    3. Halloween II (1981) - 4/5 Stars
    4. Halloween H20 (1998) - 4/5 Stars
    5. Halloween Kills (2021) - 3.5/5 Stars
    6. Halloween 6 - The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) - 3/5 Stars
    7. Halloween 4 - The Return of Michael Myers (1988) - 3/5 Stars
    8. Halloween III - Season of the Witch (1982) - 2.5/5 Stars
    9. Halloween Ends (2022) - 2.5/5 Stars
    10. Halloween 5 - The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) - 2/5 Stars
    11. Halloween Resurrection (2002) - 1/5 Stars
    12. Halloween II (2009) - 1/5 Stars
    13. Halloween (2007) - .5/5 Stars

Some films were much better than others but overall I enjoyed this experience. Obviously Carpenter’s original remains the one to beat.

I was working Halloween though did watch The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll, a Hammer Horror I very rarely see on any channel, its an alternate take on Robert Louis Stevenson's tale and a rather good one.

I did get to watch lots of horror movies like usual throughout October, but it went by way too fast sadly. Until next year, my favorite month…

Funny. Zombie's Halloween is my third favourite of the series.

I'm unfortunately not a fan of his two flicks - I can see why people like them but they've never really done the job for me. I will say that I liked Danielle Harris and Brad Dourif in both films though - definitely the highlights for me anyways.

I dislike the sequel, but the 2007 film works well for me. I also think McDowall is an awesome Loomis here.
