I remember her from Alias, but she's done a lot of other things since then. I present you the lovely Mia Maestro :

I'd bet a million dollars she's been brought up before, but I'd love to see Jennifer Connelly in a Bond film. She's about 2 years younger than Daniel Craig and she's still one of the most beautiful actresses on earth, of any age. I think of her as our modern day Elizabeth Taylor. But prettier.

    I endorse this choice!!

Thank you! Not only would I love to see Okamoto as a Bond girl, but I think it's time to have a female henchwoman/villain in Craig's era, and Valenka doesn't count.

Every 007 apart from Timothy Dalton has faced off against a female foe that doesn't turn over to the other side, Connery most of all: Miss Taro, The Photographer, Rosa Klebb, Fiona Volpe and Helga Brandt. So why not give Craig his turn. It would also be a great scene of Bond having to take out a female villain.

They were close with Severine, but it was obvious that her arc was better with being someone who wanted Silva so why not give us the alternative and make her the secondary Bond girl as it'll give her more characterization and more of an arc than giving that space to a 2-dimensional female character who gets killed by the villain, or in another case, passed on to Felix (Lucia Sciarra)

I agree with Jennifer Connelly, I would not mind having Craig with some ladies that have a more grown up and adult attitude instead of schoolgirls.

Other than Fields being very green (pun intended), behind the ears, I think the Craig era has been successful in casting women and not school girls. CR, we have Solange (a woman trapped in an unhappy marriage), and the mysterious Vesper; Fields and Camille in QoS; SF saw Bond with his lover (did she have a name?), who I have always assumed saved him from the waters, and Severine.

Sp starts well with Estrella and Lucia (Bond's favorite kind of woman: married, or at least, up until very recently she was), but with Madeleine the ball was dropped. I think the character on paper was fine. It was the actress cast. I like Lea and find her very sexy. But as noted by others, she failed to have a spark with Craig when needed, seemed uncomfortable in scenes (when she orders her drink on the train was cringey), and, then of course, the story rushed their romance and her falling in love with Bond.

But overall, apart from the hiccup that is Swann, I think Craig's era has boasted a wonderful cast of actresses/characters.

Saying that, Jennifer Connelly is very attractive and a solid actress. I just don't want to see an American. I'd much rather look at Europe, South America or Asia to find a leading lady for Bond.

I'm just watching The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Robin Wright has worked with Craig before, and could make a credible adversary (based on the recent comments about a possible female villain). Of course, this may have been more likely in a Villenueve directed scenario, given she was in BR 2049.

What's wrong with American Bond Girls? I admit a few have been bad (Jinx and Stacy are the worst) but I like Pam Bouvier at least. I think the failing of some of the American Bond girls isn't because they're American but other circumstances like the script or their acting ability, etc. we can still have great American Bond girls. Connelly is a beautiful, talented actress. I think she'd be great.

I agree. I have no problem with any ethnicity or citizenship really, as long as they're well written and have solid acting capabilities. Oh, and it would really help if they're attractive (in my eyes) too! It's a biased precondition in fact!

Bouvier was terrible, not that John Glen was any help with actresses. I’m sure there’s an American exception but none come to mind. I’d prefer an unknown if the part called for an American. Otherwise it’s a dumb crutch to get a known star to prop up your series instead of making great movies. I’ve no complaint about the actresses hired in the Craig era. I wish some of the parts were better written for them. Well all of them except Vesper if I’m being honest, but the actresses chosen... Daniel’s taste has been superb.

With all this talk of a main villainess/female villain on top of the hierarchy, why not cast Melinda Clarke in the role? She never fails delivering the sort of performance that'd be required of her. She played some of the greatest modern villainesses on the screen, the most notable being that of in Nikita.

Agreed wholeheartedly, but as I've said before on other threads, she's 6ft 3, so unless they give Bond to Hiddleston she won't work.

Seeing some great choices, but most of these would be better saved for the next, younger actor. I'd love Debicki as a Bond girl, but she's 27.
