    Agreed completely on the signage. Rare indeed is the huge rotating bucket of chicken that used to be Colonel Sanders' advertising trademark. Hell, they've even changed the name to KFC (apparently the word "fried" is now verboten), and dropped the image of the Colonel (presumably so as not to offend those who despise the old South).

    We've had Colonel Sanders in Lubbock for as long as I can remember, as well as Church's, and more recently Popeye's and a really good Texas chain called Golden Chick. I love 'em all, to tell the truth.

    They changed the name because the state of Kentucky was bankrupted and wanted some royalties from the company that was using its name and making money with it. The rest (that the word "fried' cannot be used, that the meat used is so mutated it is not chicken anymore) is just urban legends.

    Incidentally, one of the smartest medievalist I met was from the University of Kentucky. Every time I see KFC, I remember him, he looked every bit like you'd think a Kentucky man would look like.

    Second anecdote: last time I had KFC, I found it utterly disgusting, enough to put me off the darn thing.

    Sorry Sir Henry, I love the song, but so many seem to deify so intensely that I had to rate it as such; I find her DAF title track song to be far more nuanced & refined.

    I checked it out. Amazing it's still there. Looks rather different from the original, but at least it still has the image of the Colonel, and the words Kentucky Fried Chicken scrawled across the storefront. I wonder if there is some monument or memorialization of the restaurant's cinematic history thereabouts?

    She's the worst part of an otherwise excellent film. Though I don't think she's nearly as bad as, say, Chiles, Bach, Roberts, and whoever the hell it is who played Goodnight. Oh and Halle Berry. Five Bond girls easily worse than Lupe.

    Talisa Soto is / was a nice looking lady but it was a poor performance for the Lamora character. The often quoted "I love James - so much" makes you want to hide behind the couch. Not a character that lived long in the memory

    So many people call Goldfinger overrated that it's starting to become underrated.

    It also needs clarifying whether these are overrated by the general public or by Bond fans like us, in which case what constitutes overrated and underrated will be quite different.

    Bang on. I don't think Lupe is terrible, just overrated.

    As a character I prefer her to Pam. If anything I think she is underrated, and this comes from someone who is not a big fan of LTK.
