Title amended, and apologies out to all those who may have not wanted to know about the role changing.

I'll be keeping the titles very vague moving forward.

But I can't but think, if you're reading this apology, you don't mind too much about the basic details of the film, specifically who is playing what. ;) I understand that having it in the title is thoughtless to others' interests, so it wont be happening again.

Thanks for the feedback! From here on out I'll be Tip-toeing towards and through production.

Not really. Many of us are tuning in to this thread daily to know what's going on. Your title change, is what first alerted to me to this big breaking news!
I might have skipped the thread all together and left it till tomorrow, but for your title.
    Thanks for staying on top.
I think we want to know whats going on!!!

...I wouldn't get too excited about her work in Budapest Hotel. She is part of a large ensemble cast. She is overshadowed by many others.
@samuel I think your comments re mediamass in the other thread were on the mark. It was more the Shmoes, I think that led to some credibility. I don't know what their source was.

And yes this casting, as much as I do like it, does look a lot like Eon looking to accomodate a wanted talent, as opposed to casting a role. Seydoux is a current "it" girl.

Many don't, and that's okay! I even admit the role change mentioned in the title was too much, but perhaps the name could have stayed. I did get more than one message requesting a change. And I see why.

I am ecstatic with how this thread is mapping out. I've started hyper-linking the articles along with the updates on the OP, so that a year from now we can see the origin and date of when we learned what. The list is already huge, I can't imagine how much longer it is going to get.

Whatever, but I hardly think a thread title trumpeting the confirmation of a major casting choice is out of place on a Bond board, which has always specialized in breaking the latest Bond news, especially when it comes to the buildup to new films. Its the top new story on the main page.

eg when the lead bond girl and lead villain are cast, we won't have dedicated fully titled threads? I don't think so.
As it is, Seydoux will probably get 4th or 5th billing at least.

Finally some fresh news, thank god. :)
  • I agree with @timmer that it's kind a bit much to ask that Lea Seydoux's name be removed from the title of this thread, especially when the same exact news is splashed across Mi6's homepage right now. I don't blame you at all, @JWESTBROOK, for respecting the wishes of another member of the community; I just don't think that request should have been made in the first place. I mean, it's not like this news is something anyone could realistically avoid until they've seen the film this time next year...

I think the root of the issue was me including the fact that there was no longer a Scandinavian role in the film. Even though I think people would be angry after seeing it that they heard there was supposed to be a Scandinavian Bond girl and all they got was some French chick. It would be confusing. I simply thought it was a natural update.

How do we know, she won't be the main girl? Baz didn't go into detail about that.

    See what did I say!

After she gave that most recent interview interview and denied it, my immediate response was, yep, she, s definitely a Bond girl regardless of what she's saying. Sorry @samuel! :D

Nobody can answer my question? Or won't? :-w

BTW - she had a role in The Lobster with Rachel Weisz, a set, that DC visited. Maybe its another of HIS castings? ;)

Baz refers to Lea's character as a femme fatale, so that would seem to preclude her from playing the main girl (unless this is another case like TWINE where the traditional character roles get shuffled and the main girl, Elektra, is the villain as well).

Well, we kinda know that Daniel Craig has evolved into a successful uncredited producer and screenplay writer for Baby and Michael. Sean Connery could have dreamt about that. Perhaps Baby and Michael listened to Shan't advice after all ;-). Never use the leading star solely for acting, but also consult him with valuable behind-the-scenes advice.

Léa was one of the four actresses auditioning for the lead role of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and screen tested with DC so he has previous experience of her ;)

It has been rumored for a long time that the secondary Bond girl will be Scandinavian (now French) and the main Bond girl will be British.

Stuard Baid > Mission Impossible 2 > CR and Skyfall (Bond 24)
    Robert Elswit > Tomorrow Never Dies > Mi4 & Mi5
    Jeremy Renner > Mi4 > Bourne Legacy
Albert Finney > Bourne Supremacy > Skyfall
Lasco Atkins > Casino Royale > Mission Impossible 5

    and now Léa Seydoux > Mi4 > Bond 24

Besides Mi5 also hired some people who previously work at QOS or Skyfall.

I don't know much about her work, but I'm happy if Seydoux is indeed cast: without being an unknown she is not a big star yet, certainly unknown enough for a Bond girl role, and she has a kind of classical beauty that fits Bond movies.

No, no, NO! Bond 24 needs Emily Blunt!

Riseborough is a great actress and Bond 24 would be lucky to have her.

As for Seydoux; she's a great choice for me. I think she's beautiful but at the same time she has such an interesting screen presence. She's not typically pretty and has rather sleepy eyes, a round face and a large gap in her teeth but she's so striking that when she's on screen you can't take your eyes off her. Also she isn't a stick insect either which is nice. Her involvement has got me more excited for Bond 24. She also reminds me a little of Kate Moss which is no bad thing. Now all we need to do is find out who will play the female lead and the new villain!

It be confirmd that Adele confirm today she wil not release her third album this year.

    http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/10/09/no-new-adele-album-until-at-least-2015/?_php=true&_type=blogs&partner=rss&emc=rss&_r=0
    Dutch: http://www.nu.nl/muziek/3899977/adele-brengt-jaar-geen-album.html

So mabey it wil release next year, in year of Bond 24 and wil a possible second single of album her second Bond song. But with Skyfall two Bond songs one album is mabey to much. Adele does not need another Bond song on same album to cell her album. Her return for another Bond song wil mabey bigger for Bond 25 and 4th album in 2018. What mean bad news for James Bond fans who whant Bond 25 in 2017.

Filming at the same locations/countries as the main competing franchise, hiring the actress that played one of the main parts in the last movie of this franchise. Somehow I don't see you old Cubbie doing it this way.

Since Bond 24 will be released before M:I 5, most people will assume that M:I is copying Bond. :)

It will be a completely different film, so I have absolutely no problems with that. DC will not be visiting the Burj Khalifa, nor will he go to Moscow. Bond 24 should be great.

With the locations he was referring to M:I 5... Both that film and Bond 24 have Austria and Morocco as filming locations.

I think people needn't worry about the possible similarities in her role in MI:5 to her character in Bond 24. If this was a huge problem, I'm sure Mendes and the casting team wouldn't have even considered her for the role.

P.S: I have also just joined this site and am looking forward to more discussions about the Bond franchise.
