There's an unexpected twist in it that vastly alienates itself from the source material. That's all I can say about it. It may anger you or may not.

Looking forward to your review, @Risico007.

Is Mark Strong playing his character from Kickass?

Aquaman has crossed the $750 million world wide milestone, overtaking Justice League's entire box office earnings in just 22 days. The film is now on course to be the first DCEU film to hit the $1 billion mark, and may become DC's biggest success ever in the process, as The Dark Knight Rises currently stands at $1,084 billion.

Likewise. I'm still not sure how I feel about it.

It's the James Wan factor. Everything that guy touches, turns into gold.

I had no problem with that but yes, some people may feel conflicted about that.

Incidentally, anyone seen Constantine: City Of Demons? I rather liked it.

@DarthDimi , I did and thought it was great. So happy Matt Ryan has been able to continue playing the character. As a movie, the live action Constantine isn't bad at all, but Reeves is miscast. Ryan embodies the character perfectly, be it animation, his own show, or guesting on others.

As huge a Batman fan as I am the fact that Affleck is likely not going to be Batman I am a little less excited

    I'm in the same league.

Meaning the only two DC movies above it are The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises as far as worldwide gross. Crazy.

Who do you reckon will star in the Batman film? Any names on our hotlist?

Reeves is reason enough to look forward to it in my view.

Not crazy at all. Aquaman is an excellently entertaining movie.

Entertaining, sure. But after the way audiences (or maybe just the internet) received BvS and JL, it’s crazy to think that they were able to turn that around into a worldwide massive hit!

I think Reeves will be going after Jake Gyllenhaal.

Maybe go after Timothy Dalton as Alfred. I approve.

Oh yeah. That casting would be awesome.

Definitely don’t want Gyllenhaal as Batman. If not Affleck, there’s always Jon Hamm.

They need someone who has a certain mysteriousness to him and who also conveys intelligence onscreen. Someone with a decent build and a dark edge. Ironically, it's in some ways the very same qualities as required from a Bond actor, but only American. Tough call here.
  • He was rumored for Alfred back when Batman V Superman was in its earliest days. I was very bummed when it didn’t happen.

I'm glad he dodged that bullet.

Jeremy Irons wasn't a bad choice, but Dalton probably would have been better for Alfred.

My thoughts exactly; Dalton would've made a great Alfred, but he couldn't have saved that train wreck of a movie and a bullet was thankfully dodged. Irons was serviceable enough.

That would open up the possibility that General audiences aren´t so dumb after all and didn´t care much for who made this film, just for how it Looks. And already a Trailer of Aquaman suggests a totally different vibe from BvS and JL, which both were massively bleak in comparison.
Yes, one could argue that that´s crazy too ;-).
