Watchmen: Chapter I is an absolute delight! I think it does a very good job of bringing the comic to life. The animation is, as far as my taste goes, excellent, which is a big surprise in an era when DC animation has been letting me down for years. And for those who need to know,
yes, the BF story is included too!

    I'm a fan, guys. Can't wait for chapter 2!

That was perfect! As for the two worlds meeting, a lot of fans (myself included), have been petitioning WB and DC to have them meetup in the movie (Superman '78 and Batman '89) comic book series both going on right now. They currently do share the same universe (Easter eggs in both storylines). Hopefully, we should get more storylines with them (together or not) soon! I could see Michael Keaton's Batman fighting Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor for sure!

I am about to give Joker 2 a second chance in the theatre. I was 40/60 (good/bad) on the film a few weeks ago. This second viewing will decide where my final judgment lands. Wish me luck.

Good luck. I still see it as a cult film in the future.

Okay, I went back to Joker 2 and... I am a fan!

The first time I saw the film, people were noisy, I was suffering from a headache, I was extremely tired, and I'd had a bad day at work. I guess all these things clouded my judgment.

Yesterday, however, all was well. I focused on the acting, editing, and cinematography, and Joker 2 scores high in all those departments. The story is a pretty good continuation of Joker's. I was particularly impressed by the testimony of Puddles. Harry Lawtey's acting is superb. And the musical choices, contrary to popular opinion, are certainly adequate if not great.

The film has gained another fan -- two, in fact, as my wife loved the film as much as I did.

I think that it was just the wrong movie at the wrong time. As I said before, it'll probably be a cult film one day. More risk taking than the MCU on average today.

And that's what I appreciate about the film. Taking risks, staying away from worn-out formula. The MCU has reduced itself to a recycling factory.

I’m all for taking risks, but JOKER 2 strikes me as just a misfire in execution. I wasn’t a fan of the first, but I did like the concept of 2 not only being a musical but having Lady Gaga as Harley. Meh.

Agreed. A big miss for me, too. A lot of the ideas seem solid on paper but very little of it clicked on the screen.

I should note, I’m not upset over that controversial ending. It actually makes total since for me given what the first film presented Arthur as. But I totally get that there’s fans of the first one that would feel betrayed by that ending.

Luca Guadagnino and Daniel Craig are re-teaming for their first superhero work, Sgt. Rock, for DC Studios:

I recall John McTiernan and Arnie trying to get a Sgt. Rock film going back in the late 80's.

I always thought that Daniel Craig would make for some other great DC villains:
Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Metallo, a member of The Court of Owls, and in particular, Mr. Freeze.

A while back I predicted that , after exploring some more experimental and unconventional roles, that Craig would return to a traditional heroic character; there is something very appealing to it …. and profitable.

I look forward to seeing him in bad ass mode.

20 years ago I think Craig would have made a fantastic Green Arrow.
