hahaha well there were plenty around who could be quite harsh to new members. EricaAmbler for instance, MrBrown, and so on. Quite the bunch that left for BaB.

EricaAmbler, now what a first class prick he was. I'd completely forgotten about him.

That name... I remember him now. Can't say I miss him and the feeling is no doubt mutual.

Funny how he scared a few members away, only to scare himself away in the end. Bullies are like that.

Pretty crazy that, as of early July, it was my 11th year since joining the MI6 Community. Definitely had some hiatus periods in there, especially pre-2022, but that's still kind of staggering to imagine how much time I've spent here and how prolifically I've written and contributed during that time. I remember joining this place two years after I'd gotten into all things Bond, already having formulated a lot of my likes and dislikes of the series, and hopped on here during break from school to keep myself entertained. As the years went on, this place kept me sane during college, and was a great outlet to go to connect with like minded folks when I had little of those interactions in my day to day.
Met a lot of wonderful people I'm happy to still see as regulars today, and formed some genuinely strong connections that you wouldn't expect to with just names behind avatars.

This forum has always been a great space to connect with people and share our views on all this Bond and all things not, and the variety of discussion as well as the variety of fans has been of real value to me. There's always something to talk about, and we have ardent fans of all Bonds, all eras and all ages that give a lot of great context to the books, movies, games, and all other things Bond branded and how they've developed over time. Discussions here have made me look at movies or actors in different ways, usually favorably, and it's been a treat to be told that something I shared about a movie or actor's portrayal helped someone see more value in it than they did at first. This is what these kinds of environments are all about: sharing new perspectives and shedding light on things that may remain in the shadows for others, shining more attention on things you believe have merit.

I appreciate everyone that has and still remains to make this place what it is, particularly the folks that I've been close with from the very beginning (or near to it) and who I can't help but think of when this place comes to mind: @Creasy47, @4EverBonded, @PropertyOfALady, @DarthDimi, @Murdock, @Thunderfinger, @chrisisall, @Sandy, @QBranch, @Master_Dahark, @CraigMooreOHMSS, @StirredNotShaken, @CommanderRoss, @thelivingroyale, @peter, @DaltonCraig007 and the ones we've lost like @SirHenryLeeChaChing and @barryt007. You have all made this place worth coming back to, and it's been a pleasure to know you all deeper beyond the discussion threads. Cheers!

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 Congrats to another year, buddy. I spotted my name on your list, so we're good 👍

But really, no love for my predecessor @OBranch? He thought the world of you, but I guess that is not enough. No wonder he went off the rails and got himself banned.

@QBranch, let's just say @OBranch was the John Cleese to your Desmond Llewelyn. Just know that I appreciate all of your work these many, many years, and for tolerating my antics.

Like that time I used your office computer to do some...private browsing...
    ComplicatedBrokenInchworm-max-1mb.gif

Or that time you didn't report me for "borrowing" the prototype sports car you had intended for 006...
    PettyAppropriateCommongonolek-max-1mb.gif

And we can't forget the time I went into your workshop and rearranged all your tools so that you had to spend that entire weekend sorting them again...
    SoggyActualDevilfish-max-1mb.gif

Or the time I told you I needed your help going undercover on an important mission to spy on a target stationed near my house, just to trick you into doing my yard work for me...
    MelodicLimpApe-max-1mb.gif

And the prank calls, oh, the many prank calls during your crunch hours (you were always such a good sport about them, though!)...

@Thunderfinger, fair point, but this thread was buried pages in and I just saw it again while browsing. Timing has never been my strong suit, anyway. Certainly one of the things Bond and I share.

After @OBranch's disastrous performance and subsequent banning, candidates for @PBranch were understandably scarce. But at least the MI6 Community was able to count on the services of @QBranch.

    Happy anniversary, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7!

@mattjoes, if I remember correctly, around the time @OBranch was canned we had a disastrous toiletry issue where all of our service's toilets got mega clogged (it was later found out that @Thunderfinger was stuffing entire rolls of toilet paper into the bowls of each and flushing them over and over because he was fed up with M reporting him to HR), so instead of using them for gadgetry creation, @PBranch was instead utilized as our official crack team of MI6 plumbers. And they have mostly been reliable since, save for the Commode Cataclysm of 2016 and the ClusterFlush of summer 2019, both of which I had the lovely duty of documenting in great detail for our records while photographing the aftermath of each of those dukey disasters. They are an alright group of lads, all in all, but I could do without their damn catchphrases. They think they're Bond or something, cracking one-liners in the field, and it's obnoxious. Every time I call one of them to report an issue with our toilets I get some variation of, "Oh, looks like urine trouble, Brady," or, "I hope we're not toilet to fix this," and blah, blah, blah. Just last week @DarthDimi and @Creasy47 had a bad reaction to all the lunchroom tacos they'd scarfed down and made a real mess of things in there, so our course when two @PBranch plumbers come by the bathrooms they tell me that if they can't get the problem sorted, "it'll be a big smear on our reputations." Hilarious.... 8-|

It shouldn't come to that, but if it did....well, it's the circle of life, after all.

@DarthDimi, I knew nothing good was going to come out of that when @Creasy47 was already putting on his "Taco King" bib and you earnestly looked at all the lunch ladies and said, "We'll have ALL the tacos you've got, don't hold the explosive salsa, ghost peppers and every frickin' spice you've got back there."

Oh man, I love(d) that bib.

In all seriousness, here's to 11 years, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, and hopefully another 11 from you. You joined just two days after I did so we both did some growing up and learning and meeting new folks at virtually the exact same time together. Those were the days.

11 years later and now we're awaiting what the next era holds. It's crazy how time flies.

@Creasy47, crazy it is. Can't believe just how much we've experienced on this forum together, in what feels like no time at all. Whenever I think of this place, can't help but picture that awesome black and white picture you had of Brosnan smoking.

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSWp9QCw_T08KjDhx6y1NkNUuSARZxh5XkgYBdI_0wu2eDduxox3xXOELIsuV2AOHYYLfk&usqp=CAU
That picture, and you along with it, are seared into all my memories of this place. It wouldn't be the same without you, mate, and I thank you for all the years of fun and frivolous discussions on every topic under the sun, as well as all the private messages of care and support we've exchanged since the start. You have and always will be one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back, and it's been a pleasure getting to know you so well over all this time.

Keep telling yourself that, @DarthDimi. We've all loved you too much to let you know that literally every post you've made since around 2014 has said nothing but, "ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES DIMI A DULL BOY," over and over and over again. Now that the cat's out of the bag, I feel as if a thousand ton weight has been lifted off my back.

We were wondering when you'd finally notice them. Early on you seemed to think the nurses were all burlesque dances and the people in straightjackets were bouncers, which certainly says a lot about where your head was at at that time. Both heads, actually...
