Note: Some background on USAF Lt. Col. Charles Russhon (pictured with Connery in that last photo).

Is that from Thunderball? Sean's 'piece looks a bit different! :D

It could be, but I'm not as fastidious as you in correcting people of their mistakes.
    If it even is one.

It is from TB. At least according to these sources.

    No need to apologize @Dwayne
It's not always easy to know what film some of these pictures are from. Mr. Russhon worked a lot on the early films behind the scenes, so it's an easy mistake to make.

Probably few fans have heard of the ETH Bildarchiv (Zürich), which links to many of the images featured in the (excellent) protfolio book "The Goldfinger Files". Here's an entry point.

Some of the highlights - but there are dozens more, if you search:

Oh I wasn't trying to correct you: sorry if it came over that way. It's just more that spotting Sean's hairpieces is a tragic hobby of mine! :))
And Russhon (must've been a tough name to have in the USAF at that time!) did work on GF so it's still a very interesting story, thank you.

    I like this one :D

I think the submissions for GF so far prove beyond any doubt which film really started the Bond craze,

Hey, thanks! I'd posted it on the "making fun" thread, but I guess I'll post it there too. It was a more appropriate thread all along.

It's really striking to see how many people were around in the shots of Connery in the Furka Pass. I love the famous photo of him leaning up against the DB5, with its air of man alone with the elements...but there must be twenty people behind the camera! It doesn't ruin the illusion, though - it's great to get these new perspectives on all this.

It's not actually from the shooting of the film, but from 2008 in a shoot for Octane magazine, but I love these shots of Tania Mullet back on location (may not show up if you don't have Facebook, I'm not sure)

Sorry to say that, but Tania Mallet looks like she is about fifty in those pictures. And she was quite good-looking in the film.

Considering she was 67 at the time, that's actually a compliment! :)

Yes, I missed that. I just looked at the pictures without reading your post first. Granted, in that case she looked quite marvelous, and I should know, being about the same age. I wondered what had happened to her in 1964 since it really looked like those pictures were taken during filming.

The (sort of) German version of a commercial for the same product from about the same time doesn't sport Harold Sakata, but is forever remembered as "Olaf hat Husten!" - "Was? Das darf er nicht!" ("Olaf's got a cough!" - "What? He mustn't have!")

I truly enjoy searching for these images. Often I think, I'll do a few more and then stop. Before realising another hour has passed.

I wonder if Connery was demonstrating a golf move to Saltzman and Fleming. GF was the last Bond film Fleming was around to see (in production rather than the theater). His last book, TMWTGG, was a down-to-earth tale, thanks to Fleming's ill health and lowered energy, but if he'd been in better health and survived another decade, who knows what future Bond novels would have been like in the wake of GF's success?

This was the film that got Connery into golf as a sport. He would play often through out the rest of his life. So it is possible that he was showing off a move. Interesting that you can see the blue screens which I am guessing was for the back projection of Miami? Or a way to light the set?
