So I've missed out on a couple recent M:I films, GHOST PROTOCOL and ROGUE NATION. I picked up the Cruise 3 film set today and am catching up with GHOST PROTOCOL.
    So far it's pretty good.

I've got Westworld Season 2 4K steelbook and Mission Impossible: Fallout 4K steelbook headed my way on Monday, and the first season of Yellowstone on blu-ray the day after. Should make for a nice, busy week/weekend for me.

I also had to be a loser and get myself Ingmar Bergman's Cinema for Christmas, the massively sprawling 39-film Criterion set of Bergman's work. That'll be a lot of fun to get through.

Good call I plan to get all the 4K Steelbooks of the M: I films.

Still watching Westworld season 1 on 4K, though I will get season two at some point despite my mixed feelings about that season, still some good episodes and visually stunning.

Season two was still wildly entertaining to me, but definitely missing a lot more of the intrigue and simplicity of season one. I don't care for the feeling that they're crafting certain larger aspects of the story and characters as it moves along, I had expected most of this to be ironed out ahead of time. The showrunners have always seemed like they've known where they want the story to head and I hope it keeps that way in season three.

I have only seen season 2 once so a rewatch may improve it, if anything I'll likely get a clearer picture of the time jumping.

    Just bought this...

    91QVXYqqm-L._RI_SX300_.jpg

That brings my total up to 15 Bond films now downloaded to my phone (including NSNA and CR67)

Just picked up the entire MI DVD collection at Walmart, plus the Rocky collection and Sicario (have not seen it yet). Early Christmas gifts to myself!

EDIT: Also had ordered the complete Chucky film collection online. Between all that and some early Christmas gifts for others, I’ve been spending a lot lately. Need to slow down now!

Probably, since that's the only trilogy that exists (thanks, Sony!)

I do find it funny that the recent one is a complete bomb, making them even less than Fincher's version did (which they wanted to move away from). That's what happens when you cut corners to save cash and don't want to shell out for a proper film by a great director.

Yes the Swedish movies as the Fincher movie did do nothing for me. Have not seen the new one yet, but did like the two books written after the demise of the original writer, who imho was more of journalist than a great writer.

I'm happy to report that the UHD digital copy of Mission: Impossible - Fallout switches aspect ratio during the IMAX scenes (on Vudu)... and it looks incredible on a 4K TV!

I don't believe I have seen any other films in my digital collection switch aspect ratio likes this, but I'd like to see it done more often. I hate seeing all that beautiful IMAX footage effectively disappear after a film’s theatrical run.

Really that does not happen on the 4K digital film I bought, i hope the aspect ratio switches on the disk version.

The last two films of TDK trilogy switch aspect ratio as does Interstellar, Dunkirk, Star Trek Into Darkness, Tron Legacy and some of the Transformers films

That's interesting. Which streaming service are you using? Did your purchase the digital film straight through the service or did you redeem it with a digital code.

I can at least confirm that Fallout's 4K Blu-ray does indeed switch aspect ratios.

None of the digital copies of these films that I own switch aspect ratios, or are you referring to their Blu-rays?

I bought the digital copy from Rakuten TV, so I stream it and have downloaded it to my phone and tablet. It's only 4K when streaming.

Yes referring to the Bluray copies of said movies, those that had Ultraviolet copies were in widescreen format for most of them.

I have the first two seasons on dvd and rewatched the later seasons a few years ago on Amazon, The Mask of the Phantasm looks great it gives you two aspect ratios to choose from though the cinema presentation is cropped slightly, its still one of my favourite Batman films. I cant wait to see what the TV series looks like, price should have dropped a lot by now.
