  • Those commercials were great to revisit, @Fire_and_Ice_Returns. My favorites are the Brosnan visa commercial (with Zhang Ziyi no less! ...how did she evade doing a Bond film?) and the first two Craig Heineken commercials.

I can post a little something tomorrow to keep the calendar going. Would be nice to have a treat everyday.

A few of the commercials I had not seen before including the Brosnan one you mention that was alot fun, I agree Zhang Ziyi would have been great in a Bond film. I don't recall seeing the Dalton Lark advert either, good to see TD as a Bond type character once again.

Good idea regarding taking a day that's free, any members feel free to randomly post on any available day.

Funny enough I was going to make something similar, one of the Bond actors hidden in a Christmas tree, did not have time though I will do it next week... Whether it works is another thing lol

You can see how Jim Carrey got the role of the Grinch from this.

Coogan's impression of Brosbond was good.

Dalton was indeed simply his own voice, but his Brosnan was particularly good and he really captured the nuances in Connery's accent that tend to get left out of broad impressions. Even did the Connery face.

His Ian McKellen 007 wasn't half bad either.

    Okay, my turn.

I want to start by wishing all you fellow 007 lovers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here's hoping we get to see James Bond return in 2021 and sincerest wishes that we all get through this pandemic safely.

I love this thread, it's become a lovely tradition to chime in every year and spread the Bond love. This year I'd really love to take this opportunity to showcase some of the incredible 007 fan art that's out there. That this 58 year old film franchise inspires so much creativity among the fans is glorious!

This year has been a rough year for everyone. One of the many industries impacted by the pandemic has been the arts. Local artists have really struggled and therefore if you can do anything to help the listed artists below, then please do so. That can be something as generous as purchasing a print or as important as simply sharing their work on your social media to raise their profile. If you are looking for bespoke Bond stocking fillers this year then supporting artists within the fan community is a great way to do so.

First up is Billy's Bond Art. Billy is a self taught artist and his work just gets better and better with each painting. I particularly love this Skyfall painting of Bond's childhood home. It's nice and subtle, not noticeable as a piece of 007 art to someone unfamiliar with the movies, but for those who know... then this is really, really cool.

You can see more of his work here: https://billysbondart.bigcartel.com/

Next up is the sublime work of Sean Longmore, who MI6 regulars will recognise from designing a recent cover to Mi6 Confidential magazine and appearing on the James Bond and Friends podcast. He has been designing stylised Japanese inspired posters for the movies throughout the year and recently unvelied his designs for License to Kill, The Man with the Golden Gun and Dr. No.

You can purchase them here: https://www.etsy.com/ie/shop/SeanLongmoreDesign?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=903238850

Finally there is the wonderfully talented Reuben Wakeman from Toys of Bond who designed a suite of tribute posters to all the movies. What's stunning about these is the seemingly simple design of each poster from afar, but if you cast a closer eye you'll see the amount of painstaking detail that has gone into each piece! They feature wonderful visual cues from each adventure and look absolutely stunning.

Prints can be purchased here: https://toysofbond.bigcartel.com/products

As mentioned above, if you can share the love of these artists on your own social media channels, please do. And if you can purchase any of their prints to support their work and help contribute in some small shape or size to keep the arts alive then please do so.

There is some truly great art work here, my hobby is Graphic Design and very much still learning, though I take great inspiration from what you have posted... amazing work.
  • Those are some seriously cool artworks, @TR007! I especially like the three vintage Japanese-inspired ones. They look like they could be the real deal. Better than the real deal!

Awesome posters. Absoultely love the LTK one. The last creator presented is also fantastic. I needed a while to realize that the red part in the middle is Tee Hee's arm. And what is the grey “stick“ top left on the LALD poster?

I first thought the middle part was a lighter, but you are right. I think the thing on the left is a cigar?
