The key thing here is that it's FS that turns up (I'm surprised they gave that away). If it's connected with SP, then that was the scooby gang? Why would FS have anyting to do with SP?. Why not M turn up? One of the modern real world twists is the US security services hirng private contractors for their security dirty work. Perhaps FS hires Bond directly?

Boredom makes sense and I can see FS gently poking fun at Bond re his retirement in an attempt to get him back into action but it's not exactly dramatic. And it does not deal with Madeleine's character arc. Something has to motivate Bond that overides the motivation we saw in SP to throw away the gun (we knew that was a key moment). So it has to be a big motivation to work IMHO.

Who is fs stand for? @patb

Not reading anything here, but I wanted to THANK you for not putting anything about the story/plot, etc. in this thread's title.
No problem, I wouldn't do that.

Btw, who else flipped their **** when Jeffrey Wright was announced? Him and Armas are made me overjoyed when I heard Fukunaga say their names. Not knowing the bulk of the cast beforehand certainly paid off.

Craig himself confirming on the Sky Cinema special that this will be his final outing as 007!
The fact that this is Craig's final 007 movie should already be front and centre of the film's marketing campaign.
Why? Do you think it'll help sell more tickets? Do you think those that weren't too bothered about going to see B25 will now be getting all misty-eyed that this will be their last chance to see Craig on the big screen and now be the first inline to buy a ticket?

Did AVTAK need to promote itself as Moore's last Bond movie? The same could be said of Connery in DAF. Did OHMSS market itself as Lazenby's one and only Bond performance?

The reason why it probably wasn't brought up was that it's rather a cul-de-sac question that can't go anywhere. Craig's evasive at the best of times, so he's not going to suddenly open up and give every interviewer that asks this same question a new and interesting answer.

I mean, 12,000 people is pretty good for something that was very early in the morning for a large segment of it. Don't know if I was ever more excited to get up at 7am. And for the other segment, it was in the middle of a work/school day I imagine.

Wright's return had me the most excited. And I LOVE how he's involved in the plot. LTK is one of my favorite films so that may explain that.

Not having a title didn't bother me but MGW saying how they have never revealed a title during the start of filming had me worried about him a bit as they haven't started filming without a title since DAD (and maybe for about a week on QOS). Reminded me of an older relative saying something you know isn't true and just going with it because you just have so much respect for them. Oh well

I'm incredibly excited about the cast. Was expecting a Waltz return and I still think it happens but I'm a huge Rami fan and his video and interview on GMA was great. Can't wait to see and find out more!
I think he will make a cameo but after the Spectre leaks they could sneak him in and not say anything about it.

I'm thinking with 99% of the movie taking place in Jamaica, the UK and Italy (or a place Matera is standing in for), a significant amount of the film will be set in Jamaica and not just a very small portion.

No. I know it'll help sell more tickets. Just look at the rating bumps final episodes of successful TV shows get.

Did you capture it on video? If not how did Craig answer it?

The show is repeated again tomorrow at 5.30pm. I can record the clip and upload it here straight away.

Craig said it would be emotional as this has been part of his life for the last 13 years but he wants to focus on making this movie the best it can be. When asked if he will be emotional when it's over he laughed and joked that he will shed one tear.

Harris was interviewed seperately to Craig and was asked if it's bittersweet that this will be Daniel's last. She said she's not focusing on that right now and is just grateful for the fact that he's back, as she wasn't ever sure it would happen.

This is the strange bit. Later in the show the interview mentions again to Craig that this will be his final film and then pushes him for confirmation. "It is your last, isn't it? I'm confused." To which Craig responded "You're confused? You should see my agent."

Not surprised at all about this, But I'm curious to how Blofeld will be used this time? He certainly won't be the main villain again.

Maybe he will be offed in the PTS like FYEO. In any case I do seriously doubt a large role. Assuming it’s even true.

I love Christoph Waltz, but I hate Blofeld and hate Blofeld 2.0 (aka Brofeld) even more. IF he is back I am done with the Bond franchise until Christopher Nolan is announced to direct a Bond film. Also, Danny Boyle directing would have guaranteed no Blofeld.

I expect Blofeld to return in some capacity - not necessarily with Waltz (though I wouldn't mind him back). Would it not be an uneven five film arc to have Ernst behind the events of the first four films, and then in Craig's fifth (and likely final) film we see neither hide nor hair of him.

Not to worry about title reveal..production is starting and hopefully main cast is set.

In some ways wish I had been wrong and that we did get a title :-(
Felt very lucky to be here in Jamaica. Daniel and everyone were charming as ever, and seemed genuinely excited to get started.

Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson were on great form too.

Asked Barbara if David Arnold might return, she said they didn’t have any composer news for us right now, which could mean anything I guess.

She also said Shatterhand and Eclipse were never any of their names, I asked where she thought they came from, and she shrugged and said something like ‘the ether?’.

Glad it’s all out in the open now, been frustrating for past month seeing so many things floating about that couldn’t correct - it’ll be a GMB exclusive, there’ll be a launch in Italy, there’s a Pinewood press conference on Thursday, they’ll do the cast reveal at GoldenEye (oh, that one turned out to be true!)

Anyway, great seeing so many enthusiastic people on here!

    Lizo.

So if it's just a brief cameo, you'll disintegrate? :) Wait till you see if it makes any sense. Isn't that better?

@PanchitoPistoles it's only one film and a new actor takes over everything will be wiped clean.

"This is going to be my last one I think. I think I've done enough. People are going to get sick of the sight of me, and so someone else should have a go."

You're my hero for this alone, @Lizo. Cheers for asking, and for all your work covering Bond!

Great to hear everyone seems in high spirits. A live broadcast (in what I presume was very humid conditions) isn't exactly the best forum to get a good read on their moods.

Looking forward to hearing more positive news over the coming weeks and months.

@Denbigh was right! He chose Ana de Armas first a couple of years ago, and now she's there.
Haha good memory there @ClarkDevlin, I’m ecstatic to see she’s finally been chosen :)

So I thought it’d be time for me to chime in with my thoughts as I’ve been stuck at work all day and most of the evening, although I did manage to catch the stream before I went in.

Well what I can say apart from the fact that I’m so pleased with what we have got in store for us, despite it being a rather awkward experience (but tbh when is it not with these kinda things), I thought they did what they needed to do. I think the casting choices are spot on, the plot sounds interesting although the way the synopsis has been put together seems a bit sloppy.

But damn that cast. I have to say I think this might be the best ensemble cast a Bond film has had since Casino Royale. Not only the confirmation of Rami Malek, but our new leading ladies who are exceptionally diverse and beautiful. I’m hoping de Armes will play a femme-fatale/henchwoman as it would be really separate her role from Joi in Blade Runner 2049, plus she’d look great alongside Malek.

Anyway overall I’m extremely happy and can’t wait to see more going forward. Looking forward to discussing this stuff even further :)
