    The less I know about the picture going in the better. I like looking at photos and trailers but that’s it. Having said this, going into a movie without even having seen a trailer is a real surprising treat but obviously this takes discipline.

    I didn't see a trailer for TND before seeing the film. Had seen some photo's but very little compared to today.
    At the time I found I enjoyed TND a lot. It was a surprise, I didn't know anything about it. Would like to be able to do that with Bond 25.
    I know I wont, as I don't have enough will power.
    Please EON, share as little as possible with us. ;)

    I would really love to see them eschew the usual press conference / photo call and instead do it at Comic Con in July, with CJF revealing an early teaser. But that won't fit time-wise and it certainly won't make the British press all too happy. But still...it would be a fascinating strategic change.

    What a good allegory for this production... Just kidding :) But if this turns out one of the best in the entire Cannon, I'll be sure to use it, true me ;) Fukunaga can do it, make a money monkey come out of... well, you know the rest.

    I'm quite the opposite on this, I'd rather Bond stayed true to its very own method. Away from the comics events. A thing of its own, as it has been. That's why I await with anticipation for the pressie-thingy, because it's done in Bond style, or Cubby style, if you will, champagne, car reveal, boat on the thames kind of thing. Not amongst people dressed as green monsters and capped crusaders with their underpants on the outside.

    Fair enough. But the local/regional conventions are the ones like that. The international event has moved far beyond it.

    I actually would like for Bond to be brought to Comic Con where the franchise will be introduced to wider audiences and broaden its fan-base. I don't see the harm in it. Quite the opposite, in fact.

    An interesting idea but one I wouldn't want to happen. With James Bond being a proudly British franchise, I like that they initially keep all their press close to home. It would be nice to have our own version of Star Wars Celebration, an event that we can go to to fully appreciate the franchise and it would be a time where if a Bond film is being made, we'll get all the exciting stuff like announcements and trailers :)

    James Bond Celebration, let's make it happen haha :D

    Oh absolutely it does; when it comes to movies, comic-con has a broad range and not limited to superhero films.
    It would also be helpful in reaching a younger demographic.

    Of course it should, but Eon and the James Bond franchise has always been quintessentially British, and will always be linked to its home, which is why most (if not all) conferences have been done in the UK and why the films are always released in the UK first and foremost.

    Plus James Bond would unfortunately sink under the weight of Marvel and DC. It's best if James Bond is given its own date and its own time to be talked about and celebrated, because if it was at Comic-Con, they'd have an hour or so when people are buzzed about it and then suddenly (hypothetically) it's swept away by a new trailer for Batman. Everyones talking about whose conferences or reveals are better Marvel or DC's and I'd rather 007 wasn't add into that fold.

    Agree with you, Bond and Comic Con is not a fit. Bond is stubborn and so are the fans (or should be).

    Surely there's a lot of British based Comic Con's EON could target if they wanted to go down the whole "Comic Con route" for press conferences, etc.? MCM London Comic Con is in May.

    Bond films are British-based productions by established American producers. The UK connections are a strength of course.

    One correction: the films have premiered and been released first ahead of the UK many times. Just business, nothing personal.
