I doubt it. But ... seriously thinking about it, I would not mind a flashback scene of them talking years ago if done only briefly and well written.

They have their own ideas mapped out, I do believe. ;) No mater what we want or think.

    Thanks guys.

We can't avoid off topic chat here, but some things really do belong in their own threads. Ranking the Bonds is one of them.
I don’t think my ranking is off topic because I only ranked Brosnan and Craig since we were just discussing their respective tenures. Ranking all the Bond films is entirely different and not something I’m interested in at the moment.

Thanks @peter and @ColonelSun for your continued thoughts on the progress of the production while we wait for further news. I know I'm going to get rained upon, but I believe that only you two guys should be allowed to post comments here on the production until we get further concrete news. The only reason I say this is because I have to wade through so much inane chatter to get to anything considered substantial enough to whet my appetite or engage the old grey matter, sometimes, I feel it's a complete waste of my time visiting this page. So from now on I'm going to practice what I preach and hold off from commenting until something hot comes in. Pip-pip and tatty bye.

@ColonelSun is The Man and he has actually worked with EoN!! The guy has extensive industry experience, not only with Bond.

I have had the pleasure of reading his in development scripts, projects that are presently moving through the pipeline. He’s the real-deal.

I can merely chime in with theories based on what production is all about. I recently met a gent who is friends with Gregg Wilson, but that’s the extent of any connection I have with EoN!! Outside of that, I’m a working writer with a couple credits and development deals, working my butt off in this crazy industry!

@RC7 and the Colonel are very knowledgeable gents.

EDIT: fun thread to theorize and everyone should be able to opine without judgement. I’m no authority on anything. The most outlandish comments have a place here, without backlash. And for the most part everyone has a good time.

I only took issue when a ColonelSun is treated like dirt when he’s brought info in the past, and the fall out from that. Otherwise @bondsum, thank you for your kind words. However, I am no authority on anything, lol!

We appreciate all of you, @peter!

In the spirit of the week, I'm just grateful we live in a time where we can connect as fans over what we love and actually have that discussion informed by people with real insights into the very creative property we're discussing. Even if that online discourse is sometimes difficult, or knowingly hijacked -- one takes the rough with the smooth, as it were.

Very nicely said @AgentM72 ! Believe me, listening to all of the voices on here and taking their perspectives very seriously, my opinions on a film like TMWTGG has changed to the more positive. Very smart and educated members here— whether I agree or disagree is moot.

Agreed. And I stand alongside the sentiment that even the (relatively) poor Bond films are mostly terrific films in their own right.

Die Another Day might have some absolutely nonsensical stuff in it, but for my money, it was one of the best times I've ever had at the movies.

Die Another Day was Bond's cinematic nadir. I felt embarrassed to be a Bond fan. It was absolutely terrible. How that CGI ever made its way onto screens is beyond me. It was a bloated mess that brought about a serious rethink. It made Moonraker look like Citizen Kane. Just thinking about it raises my blood pressure. There aren't enough words in the English language to adequately describe how much I utterly detest it. Thank God for Casino Royale and Daniel Craig.

I have said it before and I am going to say it again - one can always find some good and bad in every single bond film.

Drop the CGI bit, and this is my feelings about SP.

if filming begins in March i am really surprised locations and the big setpieces havent been leaked yet. They started building the sets in Austria for Spectre in the fall of 2014.

Yeah. It's pretty weird how quiet it's been. Not worrisome, but strange.

December or January I’m sure we’ll hear a lot more. The whole thing has been something of an endurance test waiting on production haha.

Legit, the most painful wait in all of my years. When that first hit of official news hits I’m going to do cartwheels.

I’m a relatively young Bond fan still (only since 2007), but definitely the most painful wait for me so far. Much tougher than the one between QOS and SF IMO.

I’m 26 years old. I’ve always been a Bond fan since I was little. But the Craig-era has made me a much bigger fan than I ever was before. For me it’s all about the actor & the tone of the movies. Unfortunately, Craig’s era has been plagued with setbacks/significant delays. Bond 25 should rightfully be Craig’s 6th film, but you can’t change the past I suppose.

The wait between 1989 and 1995 felt more momentous - it was an unprecedented break at the time, between actors - on the back of a disappointing box office performance. They had finally run out of Fleming titles (felt like they'd never get Casino Royale back and no one thought of Quantum of Solace!) It was in a time of no social media so no news for sometimes years at a time. Also I was 14 when I saw LTK at the cinema and 20 when I saw Goldeneye. Lots of changes in taste and life experiences between those two films for me.

Maybe this time we won't have such big set pieces, as rumours suggested Craig want a FRWL type of film
  • I really felt the wait for Skyfall, but this time it's even worse. It paid off with Skyfall though so hopefully it pays off again.

I wonder if EON even realizes just how good this movie needs to be. Between the overdue release date & the finale for Craig, there’s a lot riding on this one.
