Final Frontier is the weakest of the old ones, but still has some really good moments and concepts. The scene they meet “God” in is quite fascinating really.

The movie was marred by comedy moments and shoddy execution. But yes that scene was great.

Independence Day: Resurgence (I did not list the first one since that's generally regarded as a good movie)

I've heard but good things about it. Never heard someone criticize it.

Sarcasm? That movie got torn to shreds across the board. One of the worst movies I've ever seen, I think.

I swear. Especially as soon as the second one came out. I kept reading "I absolutely loved the first one, but this one sucked" pretty much everywhere.

Ahh, nevermind, I must've misread. I thought you were saying you saw no negative criticism regarding ID:R, but you meant the original. Yeah, the first was received so much better than the sequel.

Star Trek five is lacking a decent finish, but it has some much of the spirit of the original Star Trek crew in it I find it a rather good movie. With the Next gen movie I lost interest even if First Contact is everything the other Next Gen movies never managed to achieve,

I've only seen Starcrash one time when I was a child but remember enjoying it a lot. It's a really bad movie from the bits I watched on YouTube. But it has some great actors, a score by John Barry, Caroline Munro in a space bikini... Lots to love.

I saw Starcrash as an adult, and while at times kind of fascinating—particularly with respect to Christopher Plummer's bizarrely sincere and moving performance—it is truly an awful film.

Plummer said he accepted because it was shot in Rome and that he'd do a porn in Rome.

I haven't seen the whole thing in ages but I'd say it's what many Hollywood blockbusters would look like without their budget.

I love Star Trek V, flaws in all. It's pretty underrated. While the effects weren't up to snuff, It's got a lot of great atmosphere. I love the sequences on Nimbus III and Sha Ka Ree. It's got some great Kirk, Spock and McCoy moments too. It's nowhere near the worst. I'd give that honor to Star Trek Generations.

    Total agreement here, my friend.

Star Trek V genuinely has some great moments, with a higher budget and ILM involved and Connery it would have been great, though Laurence Luckinbill was a good Sybock.

I had a hard time getting into the Walhberg ones. But my favorite guilty pleasure is easily Dark of the Moon

The last hour or so during the Chicago battle is pretty awesome in Dark of the Moon, definitely the highlight of the series.

The Last Knight is pretty crazy I don't mind it, I thought it was an improvement on Age of Extinction

Count me in as a Star Trek V fan as well. I loved the rapport with the characters in this one, and felt the film was underrated. I love the campfire bit. I always thought it was too bad more fans didn't care for number 5.

Been ages since I've watched that film. I should revisit it.

I don't like V but at least it has a few good ideas that in a better film could have been classic. It is most definitely a bad movie, but I daresay that it has more heart and originality than any of the TNG movies.

    220px-Cyborgposter.jpg

I know it's a terrible movie, but I LOVE Cyborg. Besides Bloodsport (which is a legitimately good movie), it's almost my favorite Van Damme movie!

It actually used to scare me as a little kid! As a 6 year old, just the apocalyptic concept alone was frighting to me-- especially near the end when Van Damme and the girl are both running from the cannibals through that marshy area; JCVD kept stopping to fight one, allowing another to get closer, and so on until he was overwhelmed.

    cyborg31.jpg

I kept shouting at the screen 'Don't stop! Keep running!'

For anyone who may be interested, I recently picked up the Directors Cut to Cyborg, now titled 'SLINGER'

    Slinger-aka-Cyborg-Platinum-Cult-Edition-DE.jpg

It used to be super rare, but now it can easily be found for around 20 bucks.

It's a double edged sword, because the movie is much better, however all scenes that aren't in the regular cut are very poor VHS quality, which is unfortunate. It's a bit jarring watching it go from 1080 to shit and back constantly.

Just curious: has anyone picked up the recent Shout Factory Edition of Cyborg?

    Cyborg.BR.Cover.72dpi.png

I have Cyborg and Slinger on bluray separately, but unfortunately the later shifts from hi-def to shitty VHS quality constantly, whenever the 'new' footage is shown. If this new release has the hi-def version of Slinger I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!

I’ve heard of this legendary film but never seen it. Looks amazing though.

Been rewatching Baffled with Leonard Nimoy. Last time and only time I watched it I must have been five or six. Occult detective story with a hint of horror and pseudo Hitchcockian elements, it's very silly, full of 70s clichés, but it's great fun nevertheless.

Jaws 3 and Jaws the Revenge are both poor. But I watched them as a kid, love sharks and love the first two excellent films.....so I admit to watching and owning the latter movies in the series, when most would avoid them.

I can enjoy any of the Jaws movie if I'm in the right mood and I feel indulgent. The first one I watched was not the first (a well deserved classic) but the third. I must have been ten. I don't know if I was conscious of how bad it was, but I really had a ball.

Finished watching Baffled. It's as bad and as good as I remembered. The climatic fight must have been the worst fight ever filmed. It was terrible. As we're the pseudo Hitchcockian influences. But I quite liked the romance between Leonard Nimoy and Susan Hampshire. Reminds me somewhat of my parents in law: Jewish guy and English rose. Albeit he's South African instead of American. And Devon is a great atmospheric setting. A shame it did not become a tv series as planned.
Nice sequel hook as well, with a nemesis ready to do more nefarious deeds.

I have just rewatched two films with a "bad" reputation that I, personally, can hardly fault at all.

    BLACKHAT
Nevermind that I'm a Michael Mann kinda guy, I love this film. There's a certain charm to it that few other films have. It's a cool technothriller that greatly benefits from its awesome location shooting. Chris isn't half bad as a hacker. The criticism that "Hemsworth looks too buffed up for a computer hacker" was--what--written by a five year old?

    PEARL HARBOR
I get it, people hate Michael Bay. Fine, I don't. And I for one love this movie. Yeah, there's a lot of pretentious romance going on and whatnot, but once the attack starts, this film just keeps going, never taking its finger off the pulse. And I'm biting my fingernails.

Pearl harbor Is indeed a bad film. The story makes no sense at all. Not in the one brother disappearing over the channel (horrific cgi to boot), not in them ending up in Hawaii and even worse in the Doolittle raid. The actual attack on 'harbor is actually nicely done, allthough the whole' chicken' sequence and their 'confusion' in battle is stupid and extremely unreakistic. I was hugely disappointed.
