    Not constantly but quite often during the 'IMAX' set pieces. Obviously nowhere near as terrible as with this

    Not constantly but quite often during the 'IMAX' set pieces. Obviously nowhere near as terrible as with this

    @antovolk - Interesting. I could live with that.

    In Dark Knight Rises, Nolan opens up the aspect ratio at any given opportunity. Even establishing shots or just for the sake of it.

    I understand that the 65mm footage is gorgeous and, conversely, impractical to film an entire movie on. Nonetheless, it's a jarring effect and never fails to pull me out of a film.

    The format is ideal when the aspect ratio doesn't cut back and forth, but adjusts for an entire sequence then reverts back to regular 16:9 when it ends. MI: Fallout did this best.

    MI Fallout wasn't actually shot on IMAX 70mm though, not even on their digital cameras ;)

    Never pay to much attention to changing aspect ratios when watching films myself, but that Transformers clip was incredibly distracting!

    This was quite annoying when I watched it on Blu-ray. Unlike my Dukirk Blu-ray there was no mention of the aspect ratio changing on the Blu-ray case and so I wasn't expecting the aspect ratio change. Aspect ratio changes can be especially annoying when using a projector. My screen is of a 'scope' size and so when the aspect rato happens half the image falls off the screen - quite annoying.

    One thing for sure (provided MGM/Universal don't cock this up like they did with First Man and make some IMAX 70mm prints of the film), the BFI IMAX is going to be the place to be on opening night for London Bond fans and it's going to be gorgeous....

    To be honest I'm quite tired of the policing of negativity on this forum. We are allowed to be disappointed for certain things. Besides, for every negative comment I see 12 complaining about it.

    Look, fellow posters and chat room users: being critical is FINE! Even bitching occasionally. But judging a movie by its launch bodes ill. The more smug the launch? the weaker the final results imho and esp with Bond. We should all just be happy that it's FINALLY filming! x

    Think back to the interview with Rami Malek when he was asked about his favorite Bond villains. He made a particular emphasis on Dr. No. Christoph Waltz did the same thing with Donald Pleasence's Blofeld.
