    The second-newest one was the last installment I saw - went with my buddy to see it in theaters for his sister's birthday, nearly fell asleep several times throughout. I'll assume the new one is just as bad.

    It's appalling even though I have spent money I refuse to watch part 5, no effort has been made by the film makers. I am glad the box office numbers are dropping. I am watching DAF instead

    That bad ehh? The fourth one's sole highlight for me was Ian McShane appearing, but this new one just looks bad. Nice to see Bardem hamming it up, looks like he's having fun in this one, but the one trailer I saw looked like it had nothing on offer.

    DAF is an infinitely better choice.

    I own the first four films I like McShane though his film was shocking, look for Lovejoy online great series with McShane

    Diamonds... script is underrated

    I smirk anytime I hear of that show - it's my last name, never in a million years would I have assumed it'd be a TV title until I saw it. He seems pretty dapper in it.

    It was great seeing it in the cinema, but I doubt it will be that interesting to rewatch it on a smaller screen.

    @LeonardPine, happy to see another glowing review of Dunkirk. I'll be seeing it for the first time once the Nolan 4K set arrives, really hoping I love it.

    Eyes Wide Shut (1999). Great film for December and one of my favorite Christmas films! Not the most family-friendly holiday classic, however.

    Porridge (1979)
    TV series adapted for cinema rarely work (maybe The Sweeney!) but i have a nostalgia thing going for this. Prison set comedy with the legend Ronnie Barker as Fletch, the prison lag who stays one step ahead of the wardens. It is scripted by Ian Le Frenais and Dick Clement (script doctors on NSNA at Connerys request!) It has all the regular characters, Godber, Mckay, Warren, Ives and the brilliant Peter Vaughan as Harry Grout, and has the slimmest of plots, Fletch and Godber get tangled up in an escape! It was filmed in Winter, hence the snow on the ground, so i always have a view of it at Xmas. Not the greatest of comedys, but there are laughs, mainly from Barkers great comic timing, "What you in for?" enquires the new warden. "Got caught!" deadpans Fletch!

    Both very different but very entertaining films, each with excellent performances from the lead roles.

    I'm a sucker for a romantic comedy, especially ones which flip the script by featuring romances between unlikely couples like these two.

    It took me ages of hearing about how this was one of Carpenter's best cult classics before I finally checked it out, and I just couldn't get into it throughout, I'm afraid. Russell was in top form as always, though; hard to complain when he's doing his thing on screen.

    Speaking of the two of them, though, and their cult classics, Escape From New York is one I remember really, thoroughly enjoying, but I only ever saw it the once many years back. I need to get my hands on it to re-watch it.

    Not a fan of Big Trouble at all. Kurt Russell is dependably good but the film is just a mess and fails badly at all the genres it takes on. Carpenter was in his decline when he made this.

    Me too and these are both excellent films. I've recently purchased the dvd of Sabrina (pity it's not on blu ray for some reason) and am looking forward to revisiting it. I haven't seen it since it came out and have not seen the original black and white one either.

    I strongly recommend you watch the original Sabrina. Hepburn, Holden and Bogart rock!

    On a related note, Sabrina also features John Wood in a supporting role. I haven't seen him in that much, but I can safely say he was a splendid actor.

    I'll do that @DarthDimi. I've been meaning to get it for some time and will pull the trigger tonight. I think that one is actually on blu ray.

    Resident Evil (2002). Now I remember it from back then... I hated that it ended on a cliffhanger. But now that I have all six movies in a set- I'm liking it a lot better. In the next five days I'll definitely be having fun with this. Mindless nonsense ensues. Bring it! ;)

    MacGyver Lost Treasure of Atlantis

    and we are back to Mac...

    I love this in spite of the fact that as a tv movie the budget is low and the acting is at time over the top (particularly the Proffesor) but RDA gives it his all and the macgyverisms are really good (breaking out of a jail with an electrified floor)

    the Mac Girl is cute

    the music is great

    I just love this :D

    The first film is my favourite I like the set up, and the ensemble cast is decent.
