    Of course, new Bond actors are usually signed for 3 picture deals. When it is time to recast whether it be for B25 or the following, I'd assume Eon/MGM would be planning for the future. With the Craig era, too much time has slipped away between entries. I hope it doesn't happen again when Bond number 6 arrives on the scene.

    Yes, it would be very nice if they could lock things down with the next Bond and shoot out a good 4-5 films on a two-year cycle.

    If Bond 25 comes out in 2019, I want Craig gone. I really like him as Bond, but I don't want to wait 4 years from SP to B25 only to have another 3/4 years hiatus because they have to recast after that. No way in hell do I want to be 31 or 32 years old by the time Bond 26 comes out. I was 17 years old when QOS came out, and you are telling me I'll be nearly twice as old when the 4th film post-QOS will be made?

    I highly doubt that. Getting an Oscar doesn't automatically give you more screen time/better roles in films.

    Just ask Adrien Brody.

    Adrian Brody, who looks so brittle he might break in half if a butterfly landed on him, got to be the male protagonist hero-type in both King Kong and Predators. So his Oscar clearly did something for him!

    Two hits in roughly one decade after nabbing an Oscar for a truly incredible film probably isn't the type of post-Oscar success he had hoped for.

    Who says Brody was seeking to become a movie star? Sometimes actors just want to be actors.

    On a separate note: I just watched Bridge of Spies, which further supported my belief that EON needed (needs) to send Bond back to the Cold War and leave him there.

    I feel that! Imagine getting into your late thirties/early forties (Bond's general age) and realizing there have only been a small handful of Bond movies released since you were 17.
    If we do get Craig in 2019 for one more than another actor for B26, at this rate there will probably be another 4 year gap. By that calculation, it will be 8 years after SP that we get the next Bond actor with only one film in between.

    Because from April to October they will not have put together a script , director, or cast.. Also they would need to start securing locations & building sets by late summer into early fall this year

    Personally I think going back to Fleming is the way to go and Have bond be sent on a diplomatic mission now that he is a former 00 (using now the code name in You only live twice 7777) and let the film revolve around that. With Swann being brought in the beginning but killed half way through the diplomatic mission.. the only issue with this idea is the lack of an action sequence for a full hour ( again setting up the new diplomatic world and Swann and Bond's relationship so her death means something to the audience rather then oh well Bond had to become 007 again so of course they had to take this route as well as introducing a new female 007 with the name of Gala Brand and how she fits into this film plus her views of Idealism versus Bond's stoic view of the world she of course leaves the 00 service after one mission at the end of the film realizing she can't be normal and a 00 where as Bond realizes he can't live a normal life and it's too late)


    Again the themes and script write itself but the issues are 3 fold

    1. How do you build the new world with out the film slowing down to a crawl for an hour
    2. how does Swann relate to the diplomatic mission and how does she die (accidental or at the hands of spectre)
    3. How do you make to so the film DOESNT seem tired and bland retread of the much underated Licence to Kill and Quantum of Solace?

    once you solve these three issues the film takes shape. Plus it gives Craig a lot to sink his acting chops into. The themes of Getting out before its too late and Bond realizing it's far too late for him are the stuff any actor would die to be able to portray (it's Shakespearian pretentiousness without people realizing it) Plus both Swann and Brand will be enough for the bond girl status and what would be even more interesting (though this retconn's spectre slightly) is if Spectre kills Swann but Blofeld doesn't want Swann killed (viewing her like a niece) and actually kills one of his own men who killed her (which would make Waltz happy as an actor)

    Again Bond 25 writes itself but the issue is the 3 above I assume someone like Chris Mcquarrie David Goyer or Jonthan Nolan could solve all 3 to be perfectly honest.
    This is *exactly* what I would love to see as Bond 25 and it would make the perfect final curtain for Craig's 007 run. One can only hope this will be the Bond 25 we will eventually see.

    It would be great to see Bond restored to his true era - the 1950s and early 60s. No mobile phones. No head pieces. Cold War. Awesome.

    Not sure. I love a good Cold War story but I do like Movie!Bond to move with the times and come up with contemporary plots. A period film would run the risk of looking too arch and knowing, IMO.

    I have enjoyed the return to the 1960s in the recent novels, but even those have moved Bond forward into the later years of the decade.
