I do wish though that Craig had a Lara Croft-like Bond Girl in one of his Bond films, and I wouldn't have minded seeing Angie Jolie in the role.

I was amazed to see a very old episode of "Drop the dead Donkey" in which he
Played the older teenage boyfriend to one of the characters daughters.

    He could still have...

Once again after Skyfall he signed a two picture deal with the option for s third so technically he could be bond till bond 26.

All too briefly... But, she wasn't the type to strap guns around her thighs and be convincingly sexy. ;)

I didn't mean she wasn't sexy. Just not the Lara Croft type sexy who can convincingly own the screen with her presence. Angie Jolie always manages that while looking sexy and at her prime, you know what I mean?

Yes, she has the habit of coming more than once in a year.

    GoldenEye/Casino Royale

Both films are directed by Martin Campbell, and they are considered to be an updating of the character to the present day. Both films are considered the high point of their respective Eras. There is a nice mix of interesting characters and explosive action. The DB5 features in both films.

    Tomorrow Never Dies/Quantum of Solace

More fast paced than the previous film, both these are the shortest films of the actors tenure. They are much slicker, "a day in the life" type affairs, with an increased emphasis on action. The Bond girl is involved with the villain in both cases.

    The World Is Not Enough/Skyfall

Slower, more character-driven affairs. M and the villain have previous. Both films have a chase sequence set in London. Also, there is a new Q in both films. There is also a connection to Bonds heritage.

    Die Another Day/SPECTRE

Balls out action and fantasy. Both films are overladen with references to past Bond films. Bond has a car filled with gadgets, and chases said car with a henchman who has his own suped up ride. Both films feature villains who Bond has known by another name.

So as you can see, far from being polar opposites, these tenures are actually different sides of the same coin. One taken too seriously, the other not taken seriously enough. What we need now is a bridge. We need an actor who has a bit of that Irish charm mixed with the stark intensity of the Craig era. We need someone who can play both sides of the coin, and feels at ease with both. But who?

You still manage to mess up your more decent posts with the last bit. But maybe - one day... :>

You know you needn't reply to him, right? You've made your distaste toward him more than known.

Hiddleston is all wrong for Bond. Zero edge. Bond should be a guy you don't wanna mess with, but also someone with an heroic face. Someone you go "wow, cool dude!" Someone that inspires you, makes you want to be like him.

I don't see any of that with Mr Hiddleston as a potential Bond. Nor Jamie Bell. Sorry to be so blunt but this is James Bond version 7 not some BBC 1 spy drama tv show. Eon and the studio need to keep looking.
For all those who disliked Pierce Brosnan's voice , bask in reverence at David's
falsetto tones uttering " My name is Bond ... ? Eh ! What's the line again Victoria " :))

Yes. Why do we need Irish charm? Bond isn't Irish?

I'd be happy with charm and don't really care if it's
English, Irish, Scottish or welsh :)) so long as he's
A good actor, and looks good in the action sequences.

I have a crazy Idea here me out what if Liam Neeson is the next 007. Before everyone says he is far too old here is my idea he is bond for one film a brutal revenge film where he takes on Blofeld one last time..

Come on I think even Mendes4lyfe would agree that like be brilliant you set the film in the distant future and have Bond coming out of retirement it could work.

An older Bond, I'd love that. But, revenge film? No. The last few films have been full of them.

I don't have a problem with a one off revenge flick, but in such case I'd much prefer Dalton. He's the master of the 'revenge' Bond film imho.

For me I don't mind bond in a revenge film as long as it's done well.

Again how many times did Mission impossible do the same plot and only twice did they do it well and only once after you have seen the show (the show ruined the first film for me which is a shame as I would of loved to have seen Graves Phelps on the run and have to figure things out would really have allowed his range as an actor to show etc... Whatever)

For me cliche plot lines such as

There being a traitor in the midst
Bond going out for revenge due to a loss
    Bond going rogue
    Bond having to prove himself

Etc isn't bad it's just it depends on the execution...

For me the Swann Blofeld plot lines need to be finished up in bond 25 and that just well kind of it.

My wife is watching the BBC drama In the Club. Anybody knows anything about Luke Thompson? Thespian, played Shakespeare, RADA graduate of 2013, 6'2", brown hair, blue/green eyes... Haven't seen him in anything, but he caught my eyes and his c.v. is promising: https://www.rada.ac.uk/profiles?aos=acting&yr=2013&fn=luke&sn=thompson
