There really should be no expectations of NTTD making a full ROI, or of any other potential blockbuster film during this period. I think that’s why the article is rubbing some the wrong way, as its being interpreted as setting a goal post that’s likely not possible to achieve in this climate. It’s really no ones fault.

Less that I'd say but more the suggestion that said goal post means the film will undoubtedly be delayed. This article being a "don't get your hopes up" thing...

Which does make me wonder about the Amazon of it all, the article briefly touches upon it from the pov of: once the deal is approved likely mid/late next year they can more easily eat the losses...but I wonder if they may have to release it prior to the deal being approved, so managerially the film keeps the traditional window and relationship with Universal, the home ent release, TV rights and so forth?

It seems China's starting to shut down again and curtail attendance numbers for theaters. The Beijing International Film Festival has now been delayed too:

They are actually reshooting most of NTTD as we speak, Safin has been working underground on what looks like a new variant of the coronavirus. Bond gets hired by crazy Boris to find and kill this agitator who was actually working on a way to finally end these insane lockdowns, and that's revealed to be the true reason why he must be killed. Bond then sides with him to finally bring crazy Boris down.

Suicide squad opened quite poorly. Not a good sign. Although it was also released on streaming.

    What do you all think?

You've already answered your own question. :-??

What do you all think about the answers to the FAQs on the official 007-shop-website?
    Especially this one:

Is No Time To Die on Netflix?
"Currently, No Time To Die will not be availble on Netflix yet can be viewed via Amazon Prime video as well as in theatres."

  • Very sloppy site. They misspell Craig's name as "Daniel Criag" in one of the questions.

    Yep.
But as this is an official site, I'm eager to find out what went wrong here?
Just an intern who did a lousy job?
    Or did they get hacked?

    It's also Rated R.

Where are/were those FAQs? Were they under the 'fan questions' heading on this page?

There seems to be an empty heading at the moment. Did they delete that?

EDIT: The following was also on that page, and as I'm fairly certain that an official James Bond site would never, ever openly address casting rumours on a FAQ page, I can only conclude they got hacked or an intern got very, very bored.

You're right. They deleted it. It was still there yesterday.
But the NTTD-FAQs on this site are gone now:

How many times have they remade this film in the last 5 years or so? I recall the first time it was a disappointment so why keep remaking something that obviously has limited appeal? I don't think this is an indicator for NTTD.

Right. When was the last time they released a big movie, that had at least a 7.6/10 vote on imdb?
Most of the films they released in the last couple of months don't make people feel to want to see it again as soon as possible. You need people tell their friends, family and Co. to go and see that movie. That kind of commitment to a movie is gone right now. If Bond can bring it back, that would be perfect.

Well it’s not a remake. It’s a sequel.Harley,Boomerang, and Flagg clearly know each other already in the film. And the first time was a huge box office smash and Oscar winner.

It’s also R rated ( And it’s a hard R ) which limits its box office to a certain extent. The film has been well received by fans and critics though so maybe word of mouth will give it some legs.

Just read that UK is 75% double vaxxed amongst eligible population. Great news.

Things are getting a lot worse in the U.S., mostly in the less-vaxxed parts of the country. Nothing is closed as of now, masks are required in many places though

Good news is less vaxxed in US are not the major movie revenue areas

True. Although restrictions are being forced on the more vaxxed areas which are major revenue areas. Only mask mandates so far, no closures or capacity limits.

If we see more tentpoles like Marvel start more delays, then I'll be concerned.
