I know buddy, just a wish i had. Let's hope she would do one in future.

True @Torgeirtrap. Even as Miss Goodthighs, I could see the potential. She would have been a sultry Bond girl or a femme fatale.
Very much so, @GadgetMan! I think she could have been a great 70s/early 80s Bond girl in the Moore era, for example – as Solitaire, Mary Goodnight/Andrea Anders, Anya Amasova, Melina Havelock, or Octopussy even.

Yeah, she could easily fit into any one of those characters.

She could probably have played Tracy quite well too, but I wouldn't want to replace Diana Rigg!

Just finished watching a season 1 episode of The Saint, starring among others, Carole Gray. Couldn't help but think she could have been a good fit for the role of Sylvia Trench:

Sue Lloyd too could have been a great Sylvia Trench:

They did get the casting spot on with Eunice Gayson though!

If they wanted a bimbo for a humorous bit part (think about Dink, for instance) I'd say Joy Harmon ;;)

Monica Vitti, not only astonishingly beautiful in a very natural way, but a great actress too.

I would be surprised if she was not aware forums like this existed. Whether she has actually visited the forum and read our discussions is another thing. I'd guess probably not. But it's not an impossibility either...

Exactly, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Barbara reads this forum. It's a James Bond forum after all and she's a Bond fan. She might not have had time when the World was normal and busy without the Virus. But maybe she read it more during the Lockdown. I mean, it's not as if she would register or log in and say 'HELLO, BOYS! I'M BARBARA BROCCOLI!

I think to avoid questions and all that, she's definitely going to be stealthy about it.
  • QBranchQBranch Always have an escape plan. Mine is watching James Bond films.

Barbara Broccoli is in TLD, sitting to the left of MGW during the second opera scene. She should do more cameos!

Then to answer @007InAction question, i would say she might find it fascinating to see how much these fandoms has grown over the years.

Thanks @QBranch :-O , you have sharp eyes. I wonder how no one mentioned this before. Still a better cameo or significant role would be welcome but as others have mentioned, she seem a bit shy.

With Patrick Macnee, Honor Blackman, Diana Rigg and Joanna Lumley all appearing in Bond films, I feel the makers should have gone for an Avengers full house and made a Bond girl out of Linda Thorson.

  • Catherine Zeta-Jones would've been a fantastic choice in the Brosnan era (as Natalya, Paris Carver, or Elektra), or as Vesper in CR. In my mind, she's an honorary Bond lady opposite Sir Sean in Entrapment.

Vesper? Nah. I see her more as a Solange type.

    1960s-1970s: Catherine Deneuve

    1980s-early 1990s: Michelle Pfeiffer

    Late 1990s-2000s: Catherine Zeta-Jones

Also if they had made CR back in the 1980s with Timothy Dalton I think that Rachel Ward would've made a good Vesper.
In my mind, she's an honorary Bond lady opposite Sir Sean in Entrapment.

    Agreed.

I will put my list here in theory all these girls still could be Bond girls but they likely never will for various reasons some more obvious then others

First three are really just for me

    1. Olsen Twins/Elizabeth Olsen ture the twins cant act and well some would argue their younger sister cant either BUT for a quick Cameo/ shag type and of the olsen girls would of been fine (I havent seen Recent pictutres of the twins but if the look as good as Elizabeth I am happy if not well yeah
    2. Hilary Duff another Celeb crush of mine that well she does rom coms and the like so I doubt she would ever do action but I would like her to be in bond lol heck she could do the theme i would be fine with it

Now the real list of good actresses' please don't judge me to harshly on 1 and 2

    3. Caity Lotz she can do action she can do dram she can do it all
    4. Emily Brett Rickard A quirks q assistent maybe that bond sleeps with it worked for Gardner why wouldnt it work for Bond
    5. Elizabeth Hurely: remember the rumors of The property of a lady in 2010 where Quantum had a female leader yeah I always felt Hurely should of played the role

That is all i can think of right now but love this thread

Excellent choices everyone! I’m glad that this thread was revived. I’ve often wondered what if EON had hired more “experienced” actresses as Bond Girls back in the 1960s, how the series would have differed. Certainly, the casting of Diana Rigg in OHMSS was an inspired one. Not that I regret the casting of an Ursula Andress, Daniela Bianchi or Claudine Auger, but it is a fun “what if” to consider how the movies may have differed with more experienced actresses.

    Observations:
@MajorDmythe. Lee Remick was also outstanding in “Anatomy of a Murder” and “The Days of Wine and Roses.” I could easily envision her in a “Tatiana” or “Tracy” type role.

@Locque. As I’ve posted on several occasions, EON could still cast Linda Thorson (in some type of role) in order to complete the Bond <-> The Avengers link. Ms. Thorson may not want to do it at this point, but – as a fan of both – it would be nice. BTW: Although many people expected a “Emma Peel” mark II, I thought Linda was actually fine as Steed’s partner in series 6. If anything, I think much of the backlash was due to her show’s having weaker – if more grounded - scripts.

@mattjoes. Maruschka Detmers. WOW, just WOW!!! Let’s start a letter writing campaign for her to be cast in Bond 26 😊 right now!

For my own picks, I’ve often thought that Gloria Grahame would have made a great Bond girl since she embodied the mixture of “nice but naughty” had the series started earlier than it did. Among her career highlights were the “The Big Heat” and “In a Lonely Place.” 0832af81fa92d4927874bb4a82234ca0.jpg
    .
Going back even further in time, one could also vote for Claudette Colbert. According to Halferstein’s “The Making of OHMSS”, IN 1955, Fleming himself told her she would be perfect casting.

Given my love of classic movies, I’m sure I’ll think of other pre-1960 actresses.
    Good thread.

Sharon Tate. Although she did star in the Matt Helm movie – “The Wrecking Crew” her comic side could have worked for the role of Tiffany in DAF. What a tragic loss.

Well, as long as we're talking about Matt Helm : Ann Margret. Sweden's best export, no doubt.

Despite all my love for Diana Rigg, I always thought that Catherine Deneuve could have been an interesting, if not a very good, choice for Tracy in OHMSS. In any case, I have no trouble identifying her with the character as written by Fleming in the novel.

    Mlle. Deneuve would've embodied Fleming's Tracy to a T.
    09.jpg?w=840

    Truffaut's The Mississippi Mermaid.

Her brunette sister Francoise Dorleac played a Bond girl of sorts opposite David Niven aka "Sir James Bond" in the 1966 Eurospy Where The Spies Are.:

  • Brigitte Bardot or Catherine Deneuve as Fleming's Tracy
    Faye Dunaway as Octopussy
Mia Sara as Stacey Sutton or Kara Milovy
Monica Bellucci or Jennifer Connelly as Paris Carver
Gong Li as a Brosnan or Craig era villainess
    Charlize Theron as Vesper

And nobody's mentioned Diane Keaton, Jodie Foster or Ellen Degeneres yet, have they?

A very underrated movie if you ask me and a delightful pastiche of Hitchcock's work!

Regarding Dorléac, I think she would have been a great Bond Girl, but I'm puzzled about what role she could have landed considering she sadly died in 1967. Maybe Domino in Thunderball?

    @GeneralGogol

My honorary femme fatale style Bond girl is Elke Sommer as the deadly Irma Eckman in Deadlier Than The Male which starred Bond contender Richard Johnson as Sapper's Bulldog Drummond:

    plus-froces-que-les-males-deadlier-than-the-male-year-1966-uk-elke-B7TPFA.jpg

I'm sure @MajorDSmythe would agree with me on that choice.

That would've been interesting considering she and Adolfo Celi both appeared in That Man From Rio. Somewhat Bond related but Catherine Deneuve was Darryl Zanuck's choice for the role Jean Hale played in the 1967 Bond spoof In Like Flint,

@Torgeirtrap I like her in this one:

    @Thunderball

I like the idea of Gina as a Bond girl. This is the closest that ever happened in reality:
