Actresses You Think Would Have Made Good Bond Girls

edited December 2012 in Bond Movies Posts: 300
I've been thinking about this and I finally decided to go ahead and start a topic here. The aim is to think of older seasoned actresses (living or deceased) whom you think might have been interesting to see as Bond Girls in the older Bond films. I'll start with a few I've been thinking about recently. Also, be sure to supply a picture of what they looked like at the time if possible.

Shirley Jones

Somewhere towards the end of the 60s, I might have liked Veronica Carlson as a Bond girl.

She was one of sorts in CR '67.

The best Bond girl who never was? Easy.

An also ran for the role of Tracy Bond in OHMSS, Mlle. Catherine Deneuve. Que bella!

    Dear World,
I'm so sorry that I can't save you right now, but i'm too busy waiting to be captured by Virna Lisi and Elke Sommer so they can have their way with me.

    Yours sincerely,

Yes, when I first saw her in Bullitt, I thought she would have been a great Bond girl.

I'll second that, Major. Perhaps she could bake a lasagna souffle as well.;)

Along similar lines, I've been imagining an "alternate universe" version of "Deadlier Than The Male" with Luciana Paluzzi and Karin Dor as the lovely but lethal hitwomen team.

Almost happened in reality 3 times: Domino in TB, Tiffany in DAF and the title role in OP.

And she'll bring a large cake, too.

On the subject of DTTM, yeah i'd keep Sommer, but replace Koscina with Lisi. But then, I would say that. ;-)

Kate Hepburn as someone like Camille.

Jane Fonda as any type of Bond girl.

    Cate Blanchett.

    Marisa Tomei.

    Jennifer Connelly.

Very Farmiga (who IIRC was mentioned in connection with CR).

I agree and it's not too late for her to be in a Bond film.

I still remember she did the documentary:

The World of 007 in 1995, right before Goldeneye was released

    she was HOT in there!

She is undeniably hot, but that GE doco was sixteen years ago. Plus having played Vanessa in Austin Powers, I'd say it rules her out of Bond girl fame.
At 46 she'd be the oldest of Bond girls...still hot though. Damn you Warnie.

I still wouldn't kick her out of my.... ahem.... car!!

46 is a good age for a hot woman and she will be almost the same age as I: Iam 5 months and 4 years older than her so technically, that would maker a Younger WomanI!

look at these photos, she's hotter than those models who are wearing a lot less clothes than she is

You know I always thought a lot of the girls in the 50's and 60's would've made excellent Bond girl.

    Elizabeth Taylor:

    260px-Taylor,_Elizabeth_posed.jpg

    elizabeth_taylor.jpg

If Casino Royale was made first instead of Dr. No, Taylor would've been a perfect Vesper Lynd.

    Yvonne Furneaux:

    6201-13092.gif

    6201.gif

    yvonne-furneaux-03.jpg

For some of you who watch Hammer Horror film (like me), Yvonne Furneaux played Isobel Banning / Princess Ananka in the Mummy (1959), Christopher Lee (Scaramanga) was the Mummy in that film. I always thought she would make a great Vesper Lynd if Casino Royale was made in the late 50's or as the first Bond film instead of Dr. No (not counting the Climax! version). Yvonne does look a little bit like Eva Green and yes She's french like Eva Green.

    Yvonne Monlour

    Yvonne_Monlaur.jpg

    600full-yvonne-monlaur.jpg

    12209-2459.gif

    yvonne-monlaur.jpeg

Now this pretty thing has also appeared in Hammer Films, including her famous role in The Brides of Dracula. Before Claudine Auger was Domino, Yvonne Monlour was also competing to get the role of Domino. As much as I thought Claudine Auger was a good Domino, I felt like maybe Yvonne could've put a good performance as Domino if she had been selected, also Yvonne speak very good English and probably wouldn't have needed to be dubbed over her voice (unlike Claudine), it's too bad, she has a prety face and I would've like to see her in a bikini. ;)

For the other girls above in the previous post:

Jacqueline Bisset: She would've been a good alternate for Holy Goodhead/Gala Brand instead of Lois Chiles.

Veronica Carlson: She would've made a great Mary Goodnight alternate (if Britt Ekland wasn't playing as her).

Wow, Monlour is incredibly beautiful. I think she would have played a cutesy innocent Bond girl, not one we would see in the field, as much.

Well that's why she was screen-tested for Domino, she lost that role to Claudine Auger.

Elke Sommer could have been a great 'bad bond girl' - I loved her as a female assassin in the films 'Deadlier Than the Male', and 'The Wrecking Crew'..

I think Claudia Cardinale and Deliah Lavi would have been good 'exotic' Bond girls, and Hammer beauties Barbara Shelley and Yvonne Romain would have also been pleasing on the eye.

During the late 70's, Lesley-Anne Down was incredibly beautiful..

You know I was at Rod Taylor's biography (ironically, Rod Taylor was one of the many candidates to have been considered to play James Bond before Connery was selected), I look at one of his film, The Time Machine and I saw his co-star, Yvette Mimieux:

OMG, I wish Cubby and EON would've took notice of Yvette, she would've been a fine Bond girl with that look. Could she have do a faux Russian accent because she could've done Tatiana for FRWL or maybe Jill Masterson for Goldfinger with that look if EON had look at her.

Actually if they have made a Bond film somewhere in between 1989-1996, Elizabeth Hurley would've been the right age and had opporunity to play a Bond girl. Hell I would've love to see Heather Graham (another Austin Power girl) to played a Bond girl if they had opportunity. I wish the problem didn't exist back then. We would've had plenty of Bond girls if they have made Bond films in between that area:

    -Catherine Zeta-Jones
    -Salma Hayek
    -Connie Nielsen
    -Jennifer Connelly
    -Sharon Stone
    -Bridget Fonda
    -Sofia Coppola
    -Uma Thurman
    -Christy Chung http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christy_Chung

    Christy_Chung_26368_6.jpg

and also actresses that could've been Bond girls in between 2002-2006

    Natasha Henstridge

Well if EON want a new female M, Helen Mirren would fit that role.
