I have never watched those two, @Thunderfinger. ;-)
Two very different, but both very satisfying films, @DarthDimi. I also agree with those above who mentioned Sleepy Hollow. That was a good one, too.

I think he is an average director. And i do think his earlier films are the better ones. He has missed a lot lately.

You can call Burton a lot but he is by no means average, he is too much of an oddball and original director to ever rate as average.

Yes, was maybe a bit harsh of me to call him average. He certainly has a very original style, but it's just not for me. Even though i like Big Fish, Ed Wood, and Edward Scissorhands.

Too bad Burton did not get to make more Ape movies. I liked his take on it. A perfect match.

Ah yes, I still have to see Ed Wood!

And I wouldn´t have minded seeing his take on Superman.

Ed Wood isn't a bad film. I sort of forgot to mention it.
Ed Wood was a tragic figure in Hollywood; Depp captures that perfectly and Burton makes it happen.

I really liked Ed Wood, but now only remember that I liked it... I need to re-watch it when I can find the time, what with all the other movies I need to watch or re-watch... :P

I think I'm settling with most of you in saying that I'm a fan of his earlier work, but as his filmography progressed, his movies seemed to get worse and worse. None of his projects in the last five years or so have interested me in the slightest.

I'm in pretty much the same boat. Nothing he's done as of late has really captured my attention.

Out of his filmography, I'd have to say that I really like Batman, Batman Returns, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Mars Attacks!. Those are the ones that I'd count myself a fan of.

I'm feeling very lonely as a person who likes all his films. :-S

You're just more accepting and open minded with Tim Burton's films than the rest of us, and I'd even say with film in general! ;)

That's a good thing, though. I'm too cynical these days. Even though I do consider myself to be a huge movie buff, there are some films I'm so horribly negative about without having even seen footage.

I'd say the last film of his that I saw and loved was 'Sleepy Hollow.' I feel like that movie is pretty underrated. I've heard only excellent things about 'Big Fish,' though, but I haven't seen it myself, and 'Big Eyes' got some pretty nice reviews. He could find himself having another hit shortly if 'Beetlejuice 2' isn't a miserable failure. I know a lot of people who are looking forward to seeing it.

I don't know about the 'best,' but some of my favorites that really stand out for me are 'Live And Let Die' by Paul McCartney (can't recall the film...), 'Mrs. Robinson' by Simon & Garfunkel (for 'The Graduate'), 'Don't You' by Simple Minds (for 'The Breakfast Club'), and the ever-so-catchy 'Ghostbusters' by Ray Parker Jr.

Another one here for Who Wants To Live Forever by Queen and I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing from Aerosmith. Both cracking tunes by bands that I really enjoy listening to. You Know My Name by Chris Cornell is another top tune.

Bond has too many candidates to mention. I think only the older Disney films come close for competition.
