Both Willis and Moore also seem to be quite money-orientated and are willing to do crappy films if it means a big cheque.

    Well, wouldn t you?

Well yeah, but I'm not already a millionaire. All I was saying is that some actors seem to be more selective in the things they do than others. With Willis and Moore I sometimes get the sense its less about the acting and more about the MONEY.

Hence why they are seen as stars rather than actors.

Good looks don't mean an actor wouldnt be taken seriously unless looks are used and seen as their main asset.
Money should not be the deciding factor in choosing roles for an actor who doesnt have to do something just for money. That is not a comment on Willis, specifically, I don't know enough for that.

Well Willis has done some crap in his time. Die Hard 5 for one.

Roger Moore has done a lot of crap, too.

    He definitely has.

All actors have done some crap. And it doesnt only depend on them. Not how their performance is in the movie even, never mind how the movie turns out. One movie
certainly doesnt prove anything about reasons for making it just for money. You could be right but I don't know enough to comment.

Arriving at station soon, gotta go...

Willis i think gets a hard time for his most recent films, though in the past has proven to be a good actor. Twelve Monkeys for example he puts in a great performance, one of my favourite movies.

After repeat viewing think he was better than i first thought in Looper. Looking at Die Hard 5 its difficult to be to hard him for phoning that performance in, he fairs slightly better in the alternate version of quite a poor film.

Great in the first three Die Hard films, decent in the fourth entry. Good in Sunset, Last Boyscout, The Sixth Sense and Fifth Element of top of my head.

The theatrical Battlestar Galactica movie from the 70's.
    Oh wait- Earth?

With my brain turned on?: TDTESS, with my brain turned off:? ID
At the end of a hard day at work, I am sorry to say I prefer the latter!
PS to be picky TDTESS did not include an invasion, just one interesting visitor and a robot

    Predator, if that counts.

Again, Predator is a wonderful "brain off" movie,. if I stumbled across it tonight, I would end up watching it. Some great one liners and decent support around Arnie at his absolute best
    "Get to the Chopper! "
PS We all know its about the Vietnam War, right?

    Independence Day.

    *PUNCH*
    "Welcome to Earth"

(I do enjoy Mars Attacks though too)

    That's poaching, not invasion.
    :))
  • Definitely Independence Day and Mars Attacks! for the fun factor. Men in Black sorta gets in on a technicality (there was an impending invasion that was prevented in the end).

The original Invasion of the Body Snatchers is definitely my favorite horror-genre alien invasion film...

...unless, of course, you count John Carpenter's The Thing, which technically is about an unplanned—or accidental—alien invasion.

But really neither Men in Black nor JC's The Thing are typically thought of as alien invasion movies, so ID4, Mars Attacks!, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers '56 will do for me.

Independence Day and Edge of Tomorrow.

And this may be controversial, but I really enjoyed 'Battle Los Angeles' from a few years ago with Aaron Eckhart.

ID4, but only from nostalgia because looking back on it, it's really just a very loud and messy and arrogant movie. ;-)

It features Jeff Goldlum kicking some ass and hacking the aliens with a Mac computer. What's not to like? ;)

Rowdy Roddy Pipers finest moment, well on a par with wrestlemania 1 lol

The Thing John Carpenters remake, not sure if this qualifies.

The Thing is brilliant, but I wouldn't call it invasion.

So I'll go with Independence Day.
