Bond 25 - Fantasy News Alerts and Rumours

edited April 2017 in SPECTRE Posts: 11,425
With the dearth of news and some months still to go before the press conference, I thought it might be amusing to make up some fantasy news tid-bits. The tabloids do it all the time any way.

So to start, having just watched Rush and loved it, I was very pleased to hear that Alexandra Maria Lara and Olivia Wilde had both been cast as the new Bond girls, with Daniel Bruhl as the villain. All to be shot in the Norwegian fjords (with extensive skiing scenes), India and Jamaica.

Due to a lawsuit and script problems, the film has been pushed back to 2017 and Daniel Craig has announced that he is leaving the role.

The producers have been in talks with Pierce Brosnan lately, who tweeted that he was very happy to don the tux once more. Maybe twice.

Actually, it does sound like something The Sun would come up with.

Brosnan's contract clause for another series of Remington Steel means he is no longer available for 2017 and EON are now rumoured to be in talks with Timothy Dalton to reprise the role!

Dan's facelift took 10 years off his appearance. Now there's NO chance of Charlotte Rampling becoming the Bond girl :(

Daily Mail reveals that Timothy Dalton has contractual obligations for voice-work in Shrek 5, 6, 7 and 8 and had to pass the offer to return as Bond.

The producers have been seen dining with Roger Moore, who coyly refused to comment on the prospect of returning as Bond an eighth time.

That's why they wanted to approach either Niven or Seller ghost-forms, but they were unable to as both actors were busy doing a Pink Panther remake in heaven, and Lazenby got the part.
Diana Rigg will also star as the Bond girl, and Sean Connery, as said above, will star as Blofeld.
Because of this, John Logan declared that Bond 24 will be a remake of OHMSS.

    Breaking news

George Lazenby has been persuaded by his new agent that Bond is a thing of the past.
Ewan Stewart has been officially cast in Bond 24, after barely missing out on the part in Casino Royale.

I have it from Mirror Online.

This means they won't make an OHMSS remake with a rap version of We Have all The Time In the World and Connery as Bond's daddy Blofeld?

Our poor Indian friend! I always feel a bit sorry for him as he makes a lot of effort and we often don't understand what he is saying. I hope he takes this for the affectionate post that it clearly is intended to be!

:)) I was rather counting on M coming back as a ghost to haunt Bond, but that alternative is still quite satisfying.

BREAKING NEWS : With only 5 months to go before shooting on Bond 24 begins rumour is circulating that director Sam Mendes has quit after Bond producers sign Susan Boyle to play the villain and sing the theme song.
A source close to the production says that the producers were moved by Boyles debut performance in the film “The Christmas Candle” which they happened to see as an inflight movie while location scouting for the next Bond epic. While producers were busy watching Boyle, Mendes was catching up with “12 Years A Slave” and as a result wanted Chiwetel Ejiofor for the part.
The source states that once producers saw Boyles performance they knew at that point that was the direction they wanted to take. As a result its been a tough time trying to find a director to step into the chair vacated by Oscar winning director Mendes.
Another source who delivers hot tea and sandwiches to the Eon Production offices in London confirmed to us that he overheard a conversation between Bond producers and some lady who works in the office that there was a problem hiring another high quality Oscar winning director because they didn’t want to be the one who didn’t make a Bond film as good as SKYFALL. The source later overheard the producers ask the lady who works in the office to get that bloke who directed Die Another Day on the phone.

If thisrumour is correct then we can only hope that director Lee Tamahori will make the lead villain invisible this time around instead of the Aston Martin.

Hot from the front page of today's Daily Star: EON have today confirmed that Michelle Keegan has been cast in the lead Bond girl role in up-coming Bond movie, Lie Another Day. Barbara Brocolli stated that EON wanted to redefine the Bond girl persona and that Keegan would be 'every inch Bond's equal, this time round'. Asked why EON had chosen Keegan over other, better known contenders, Michael G Wilson replied, 'fantastic t**s'.

In related news, Alan Halsall, better known as Coronation Street's Tyrone, has been cast as the villain's henchman. Product placement to come from Cadburys and PG Tips. Meanwhile, Newton and Ridley are reportedly in negotiations to become Bond's beer of choice in a new 18 film deal.

John Logan has said in an interview with Total Film that this time it is personal for Bond, and has hinted at a traitor from within the MI6 being an important part of the plot.

In a surprising and welcome twist, Dominic Cooper has been cast as new James Bond, with Jessica Chastain & Alice Braga named as the new Bond Girls and Caro Emerald to sing the new James Bond title track, <a href= Belong To You.</a>

Actually, it was just the mistake of a journalist: Dominic Cooper will play Ian Fleming, which will narrate the story of James Bond (played by the son of Barry Nelson) during the movie.
