    Maybe it's a tradition since the 2006 reboot. But for the first 20 movies it was a more mixed proposition.

    Franz Sanchez wasn't on the "LTK"-poster
    Blofeld was ONLY on the "OHMSS"-poster, but never made an appearance on the other posters.

    I guess you're right to say that post 9/11 these are different times. But these different times include actually not showing the villain on a poster on one of the Craig films...

    Sanchez was on one of the Licence to Kill posters.

    Event to watch out for - Sony are presenting at the Russian Film Expo on September 30th....maybe we'll have the final trailer out by then. Ideally :D

    I don't see why Waltz should be on the poster when Bardem was not.

    But of course why not go new ways and have the baddie on the poster, Waltz sure is photogenic.
    Actually I would like a poster with the main characters all on it.

    I'm not sure why who was on previous posters matters whatsoever.
    People know Christoph Waltz. People who don't keep up with Bond news and maybe haven't seen a trailer and might not have known he was in it might go see the film because they're Waltz fans, if they see him on a poster in the theatre. He has a lot of draw.

    Pre-sales of tickets started today in Switzerland.
    And let me make this clear:
    To start pre-sales nationwide for a movie that will not open for another 7 weeks is unprecedented.
    I said this before, the Walt Disney Corporation who has the distribution rights in Switzerland for Bond is expecting Spectre to shatter ticket sales records, surpassing Skyfall (3rd highest ticket sales ever) and even Titanic which still holds the record.
    And I've heard, they expect the same for Germany and Austria.

    Sure, Walt Disney Corporation may just be wrong, but it sure looks promising for Spectre in the German-language region which is by far the highest populated area in Europe.

    Looks as though Spectre *will be* the Thunderball to Skyfall's Goldfinger.

    I'd like to nominate myself for winner of shortest sentence with most Bond titles.

    I agree @Gustav_Graves, but it's hard to say if it will be a *considerable* out-grossing. Skyfall made an enormous amount of money. Time will tell!

    I'm not so sure anymore the billion is so difficult to reach.
    Don't forget that even if 10% less tickets will be sold that Spectre nonetheless will make more money than Skyfall !!
    That's something that gets "forgotten" most of the times.
    Especially IMAX tickets are much more expensive than in 2012 and this time Bond will be seen even more at IMAX than 3 years ago.

    In the end the revenue will (as usual) be the measure of success, that may be wrong or not, I guess that's a matter of opinion.

    If everyone buys the same amount of Spectre tickets as I did, the film will be looking closer to $100 billion, than $1 billion... :P
