Le Cercle is reporting that the full cast will be in Rome for a premiere on October 27....which makes zero sense because of the Zurich premiere the same evening?

Perhaps the Zurich premiere won't feature the cast. It makes sense they would be in Rome.

JasonBond did mention cast members will be there but he can't say who....maybe a couple of the supporting cast while the main cast is in Rome

You're making that up no :-)?
  • Questioning if Spectre will be the first film to get the red 5 stars from EMPIRE. The previous 3 managed to get 4 stars each during their release. Could Spectre be the first to get 5 stars??

That's strange because the full cast being in Rome is not possible. Do you have a link to that news story?

If I remember rightly when they reviewed the Skyfall Blu ray they gave the film 5 stars.

i think they usually do that when they realise that they should have given a film 5 stars when they reviewed it originally. According to the EMPIRE website CR, QOS and SF were all reviewed by the same reviewer Kim Newman and all got 4 stars (i am assuming that these reviews are the original release reviews)

QoS and SF being rated equally to CR, particularly the former really calls Empire's rating into question.

Yep. Empire has gone downhill imo. They're in bed with Hollywood to the point where critical analysis is non-existent.

I had the pleasure of sitting next to Kim Newman at the press screening of QoS and recall after it had finished he remarked, "Yes it's good, but why can't they make Bond films fun again?" Draw your own conclusions.

Loved the new EMPIRE cover. WHY on earth Sony/EON didn't used this layout for the poster? Having a huge name like Waltz, it would make much more sense for commercial purposes to advertise the film with both actors.

I am very excited about the orange Jaguar!!
I love cars and the last time they had such an amazing car was in Die Another Day, I have them all as models! I sure hope they will release the new ones too as models! Does anybody know??

The truth. Waltz should have been on the poster.

    Obviously not.

What if you saw Blofeld's face on the "YOLT" poster?? For me that's too much of a spoiler. Moreover, if you look to many previous Bond posters, the villain is never on it! So let's keep that tradition ;-).

We all know who the villain is, it's not meant to be a secret or built up to be some big reveal. You cant compare Waltz with Pleasence because up until YOLT Blofeld was some faceless superboss. These are different times. It doesn't detract by putting Waltz who's a big name in his own right on the poster but I suppose it's not THAT big a deal if he's not.

Nailed it. Also Silva had a character poster, at least.

I can't wait to see what the subscriber cover looks like!

The trailers already quite clearly reveal what role Waltz is playing, despite his denials.

    Why?

Raoul Silva wasn't on the "SF"-poster
Dominic Greene wasn't on the "QOS"-poster
Le Chiffre wasn't on the "CR"-poster
Alec Trevelyan wasn't on the "GE"-poster
Franz Sanchez wasn't on the "LTK"-poster
Blofeld was ONLY on the "OHMSS"-poster, but never made an appearance on the other posters.

I guess you're right to say that post 9/11 these are different times. But these different times include actually not showing the villain on a poster on one of the Craig films...

Yes, and Sam Smith saying that under no uncertain terms was he NOT doing the Bond theme just shows that everyone involved with the production is a filthy liar ;)

9/11 doesn't have anything to do with it really. It's a simple case of making a commercial decision to utilise a popular and critically acclaimed actor (2 time Oscar winner, I know you love your Oscar accolades references)to help market a movie many would argue he was born to be a part of. This, of course doesn't have to follow the trend of what Bond posters have been like in the past. If the series was strictly beholden to tge past tge series would have died out decades ago. There's no harm in a little change and even the Craig era proves that.
