@zekidk Thanks for letting me know - however the person working at the airport could just be making this up.
Making what up? He was right, wasn't he?

And Mr.Christensen has been interviewed by Euroman, and he himself says that he is in it. Why would he lie and say that he is in the movie if he isn't?

Tanger, Mexico City and Erfoud, all confirmed now, should be added to the location list.

What's everyone on about Quantum for? They're gone. .
Maybe you should read up on the thread? It has been confirmed that Mr.White is returning.

When I got in there were hundreds of new posts in this thread. No way am I reading all that ;)

Mr White returning is interesting. I'm thinking maybe Quantum become SPECTRE, with Mr White helping Blofeld take over?

Cryptic message: Anything to do with the rumoured story about a ski teacher named Oberhausen being like a father to Bond in the past and that Waltz his persona introduces himself as the son of Oberhausen? And that in the end it seems that Waltz is actually Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

i think it could be that the father is Waltz and the son is Andrew. So Andrew = Blofeld. i wonder if they will make it more personal by making the bond's parents death in a ski accident and tie it to the Waltz's character!

In this scenario I don't like it that Denbigh is already mentioned as a MI6 coworker/agent. So with your story Blofeld already infiltrated MI6.

I would love it when the threat comes from outside not again from the inside of MI6.

i guess he could just be having a bit of fun with the press. afterall didn't he say some bad things about the production/crew of QOS back when the film came out??? I hope he is back in the cast but I will wait for confirmation from the production company before believing this one.

Regarding the message from Bond's past... Was there not a suggestion before QOS that Eva Green might have recorded a video message from Vesper, that Bond would later discover on his laptop?

I always wondered whether this was the reason that the scene of Bond throwing his laptop into the water in Venice after emailing his resignation was deleted from the final film.

That was blown out of proportion. As reported later. But okay, if you think that a respectable danish actor is so childish that he would plant lies about the production and cast, because he has some sort of vendetta, then good for you! ;-)

I wasn't saying that a danish actor was being childish that he would pretend he was in the next Bond film because it was some personal vendetta. I just said that he might be having a bit of fun with the press. I hope that he is in the film. I loved the short screen time he had in CR and QOS. But I will wait until I get some confirmation from the prod company before getting excited about the return of Mr White. Just seems a bit odd that he wasn't introduced at the announcement this morning.

Yea, I met him at a Bond related event after those comments were meant to have been made, so he certainly didn't have any bad feelings or resentment. A story blown out of proportion.

    This all sounds great.

EON would have to sign an actor to a multi-picture deal if he's going to play Blofeld, in my opinion.

The title is short, sweet but not what I would have choosen.

I'm pleased we have character names for the cast and that car looks great. A teaser poster too!

Now, I'd love if someone other than Blofeld were the head of SPECTRE. A real twist.

Roll on November. Under 11 months until Spectre!

Odd? No. Not really. His role will be small, but important I'm assuming. Almost like a cameo. Like the first two he was in. It wouldn't have made any sense for him to be at the PC's of CR and QoS either.
  • @slyfox I don't even remember what it was that he said. I might have to look it up unless you would like to remind me.

She's really gorgeous and Belucci also, wow! 50 years and looking that hot, pretty amazing.

I'm really excited right now! Love the cast and crew, the car and the title!

I'm not a Dane, but Swedish and Danish is pretty close so this a translation of what Christensen said:

"I'm very happy to collaborate with Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig. It is a great script and it is a great team behind, so it will be fun!"
  • I'm glad that Thomas Newman is coming back. His SF score has really grown on me. So many good tracks. I love the whole piece during the finalé at the house. I was worried he wouldn't come back after I heard a rumour that he didn't have a good time scoring SF. With him already on board so early maybe he is working on the score and the song with whoever will be doing it. In an interview today Sam Mendes says that he already knows who is doing the song.

Jesper Christensen has confirmed that he will return to Bond2...Sorry, to SPECTRE:

"I'm very happy to collarborate with Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig. It is a great script and with a great team behind, so it will be fun!"

Damn, what lovely continuity the Daniel Craig films have so far!! IF really true. Everything now completely fits! Everything!!

    FIRST,
we have the Ian Fleming short story "Octopussy", which actually will be used on screen this time in the 24th Bond film "SPECTRE" (In the film "Octopussy, Moore's Bond only explains the Dexter-Smythe story to Octopussy, but we never saw the story happening). Isn't that a marvelous idea?? It also means that this story could be interwoven in the "cryptical message" from Bond's past. I mean,
]Thanks @DoubleoNothing for mentioning this today in another insightful Skype-conversation. It completely escaped me ;-).

But I think The Daily Mail is drawing conclusions a bit too soon. Or in any case....there's a possibility that The Daily Mail can not fit the puzzle together completely just yet ;-). I know firmly believe Franz Oberhauser is a character in the film, most likely played by Waltz. But for me that tells me there's more behind all this. You just can not turn Oberhauser into Blofeld.

I think there's a possibility that Oberhauser slowly turns from ally into villain during the film. We actually see the process of Oberhauser turning into a villain. That leaves an opening to the character of Blofeld. Perhaps Dexter Smythe is Blofeld. And if that's the case there's a possibility that we get a very very late reveal during the movie of Blofeld. And perhaps because of that we probably won't even find out during the press conference which actor is hired to play Blofeld.

And suddenly, the Rettenbachferner glacier in Austria also makes more sense. Actually, the entire filming in Austria makes sense now. Also, I'm delighted to see how John Logan/Neal Purvis/Robert Wade/ Jezz Butterworth still manage to put new Fleming source material into a Bond film. Every Bond fan who admires Ian Fleming must like this bit of news ;-). And Bond 24 is now directly linked to wintersports and skiing.

    AND SECONDLY,
I think many forummembers in here already mentioned, that it would only be logical if Jesper Christensen is playing Ernst "Mr White Cat" Stavro Blofeld in "SPECTRE". I mean, he was left alive off course in "Quantum Of Solace"! He's still enjoying his freedom. And by jolly, what could he have been up to during the events of "Skyfall".

I guess, that after QUANTUM got screwed/compromised completely by Bond, Blofeld (Jesper Christensen) must have thought: "We MUST DO BETTER". He could have reinvigorated QUANTUM, and then changed it in a way more effective, more sinister, more secretive brotherhood. Hence S.P.E.C.T.R.E.!

My God, we sometimes don't see the bigger picture of these Craig-films (We're still a bit too focused on the story per film). But, if the above proves true, then there's a wonderful, even much larger continuous storyline/theme that has started with "Casino Royale" in 2006. And then, we can see "Casino Royale"--"Quantum Of Solace"--"Skyfall"--"Spectre" as a wonderful Ian Fleming quadrilogy, which is full of layers, thematically and story-wise, and full of complex characters with wonderful background histories!

And here he is, a movie shot from "Quantum Of Solace", which was later deleted with much secrecy:

  • Is there a thread about continuity/reboot of the series? or has there been a comment from the producers about it after CR? I'm quite worried about the possibility of EON starting to redo all the series...

This has so much potential. I'm not going to bandy around "it's going to be the best Bond film ever", but this certainly looks promising.

I'm very torn with the title. Can't decide whether I like it or not, but it's growing on me. LOVE the graphics though, and the teaser poster is sublime.

Very happy with all the cast. Coming from a 16 year old, Monica Belluci is gorgeous!
Exceptional cast. Love the name "Madeleine Swann". Very Flemingesque.

The plot sounds intriguing, and I can't help but feel excited at the prospect of the return of Blofeld and SPECTRE!

The car is very sexy indeed, the locations are good. Let's see how they're utilised.

And please Daniel, keep your hair like that! Perfecto.

I must admit, the name "Hinx" sounded absurd the first time I heard it. But using it in conjunction with "Mr" makes it sound better.

And to top it all off, there is also the possibility of the Quantum storyline being expanded or resolved with the return of Mr White.

Only drawback is the return of Thomas Newman. Not that his Skyfall score was bad, just bland. I'm not ever expecting a future Bond score in league with John Barry, but I do want something a little distinctive and colourful.

Don't know if it means anything, but Jesper Christensen (Mr.White - the villain that got away in both CR and QoS) was seen boarding a plane for London yesterday, by a friend of mine who works at the airport.
    Guess my source was correct.

"Jesper Christensen will play a significant role in Bond24"

    http://www.euroman.dk/kultur/film/jesper-christensen-skal-vare-james-bond-skurk-for-tredje-gang/

"I am thrilled to be working with Daniel and Sam again", he says.

    So Quantum=SPECTRE? Or maybe competitors?

And the cryptic message from the past? Could be from events in CR or QoS.

He can't have a very significant role if he was not present at the announcement. I don't think he will play Blofeld and for now I predict that he will appear in the PTS, setting the plot in motion.

my prediction: SPECTRE will swallow Quantum like in the novels it swallowed members of SMERSH.
  • Ok, native English speakers : do you understand from what Mendes said when revealing the DB10, that it probably will have gadgets, or am I hearing too much ? (something like "you'll see what it can do" but I didn't feel the tone meant we should expect some stuff only a Top Gear car aficionado would care about).

I assumed Mendes was talking about the car chase in Rome, see what the new Aston is capable off. It looks fast and agile. I didn't getting the impression that there would be any gadgets or what not.

Mendes definately gave the impression that the DB10 will be loaded with gadgets - at least that is how I heard it. In an interview from earlier on today DC said that he will get to destroy the car in the film. I think its definately going to be used in the Rome chase sequence. Hopefully it will also get the opportunity to go skiing!

@slyfox I don't even remember what it was that he said. I might have to look it up unless you would like to remind me.

At a film festival, he apparently said something along the lines of ''CR and QOS were s***. They're just films about people getting killed. I've got no interest to return.''

I saw him soon after that in London and he was lapping up the Bond related reputation.

Whaaat? How on Earth have you drawn that conclusion?

Blofeld is an iconic villain. Jesper Christensen playing him would be a grave mistake, especially when you have Christoph Waltz in the movie! What I predict (and what I am hoping) is that Mr. White will appear only in the pre-title sequence, setting the plot in motion. The PTS could be a nod to Quantum and the rest of the movie about SPECTRE.
