    @JBFan626, my thoughts exactly. Many times, this has happened, and I'm not sure why there are countless trolls inbound lately, but it's really disgusting.

    Was watching the teaser again yesterday. It may have been said before but the bridge the Location Scouts are looking at in the Videoblog is obviously the inspiration/copy of the bridge Bond goes under to reach the Floating Casino in Macau.

    I meant is Bond the last remaining double 0 agent.

    9 agents - 8 die = 1 left (Bond)

    So is it 8 random deaths or the death of 8 double 0's, which would be really striking if so.

    Do you think they killed off the other 8 double 0's is what I meant.

    I think it is in one big attack, but I don't like thinking about the plot. I try to stay wary of threads involving Skyfall for a fear of spoilers.

    Have you seen Taken 2 trailer ? It's out less than a month before Skyfall, and there are stunts on the very same roofs of Istanbul ! Oh, and there's also a car hitting a similar train !

    Is this sarcasm? I hope so, because we've already been down that road: tons of other films in the past have included cars and trains at the same time, along with Istanbul foot chases, I'm sure. Is SF copying them, then, too? I'm not throwing SF under the bus and defending 'Taken 2,' I'm just stating that it's ridiculous to trash one of two films, out in the same year that use slightly similar stunts, when tons of other films years before them have done nearly (or exactly) the same thing.

    Assassin's Creed Revelations had chases on the Istanbul rooftops. Obviously Bond and Taken are ripping that off!!! Cars and trains?? This sounds familiar... They're ripping off the Speed!!!! Somebody tell Keanu Reeves!!! :-w

    Well, first answer the beginning of the post : Have you seen the trailer for Taken 2 (which has just been released) ? I was quite shocked to see that the same location (with a foot chase on the paths on the roofs instead of a motorbike chase) was used. The car and the train stunt was just the ice on the cake of how similar things were looking on this Istanbul location (Taken 2 will take place there). We're talking about movies that are released in the same few weeks. It's done Dante Pic / Inferno or Armageddon / Deep Impact obviously, but it's quite some synchronicity though, no ?

    Istanbul is a great place to shoot. Sue them. A lot of spy films are personal missions. Just coincidence.

    Spatial coincidence AND Temporal coincidence, hence it's quite remarkable, IMO. We're not talking about a coincidence with Topkapi or whatever, but about a movie that will be out at the same time, and whose trailer uses lots of view of Istanbul and action scenes there. My bet is that to avoid confusion, maybe no promotional material from Skyfall will heavily feature Istanbul. In the trailer it's already basically zero (the motorcycle stunt is seen with no Istanbul background)

    That was a teaser trailer, meant to tease; hence, we don't really see a lot, do we? Just quick shots and snippets of action. I highly doubt SF will steer clear of Istanbul in the marketing because of Taken 2 - I also doubt the general audience will make such a connection, and opt for one film or the other because of a location.

    Now, if you want to speak in coincidences, it's funny that I have never really heard of any 'White House takeover' films - I'm sure they're out there, and I'll probably kick myself for neglecting the obvious because I'm a self-claimed movie buff - but we have two of them coming out next year, and they're on the fast track to compete with one another.

    Actually I see his point, as I thought the same. It might take away some of the freshness of the stunts and location for basically the same audience. I wouldn't mind the other way around, but with Taken being released first...

    No need getting worked up. Think about the hype surrounding Taken 2, then multiply it by a gillion to get the ever-growing hype for Skyfall.

    True, still not happy with it. We had similar with the International, but that film wasn't very hyped or very successful. We will see...

    Nobody is ripping off anyone. I think it's just a coincidence and I doubt the two films will be similar.

    In my opinion, it is a very unfortunate coincidence. With all the permissions that Eon had to have granted to film on the Grand Bazaar roof, someone should have made absolutely certain that no other action film would (or had been) filmed up there, that would be coming out in such close proximity. This devalues the whole novelty of it – considerably.

    I'm convinced EON is not happy with this. We're not talking about something "gazillion less" popular, frankly. Similar US Box office between Taken and QoS. Similar number of views of the trailer in the first days for Skyfall and Taken 2. Skyfall will ultra-dominate Taken 2 outside US, sure, and it will be quite surprising if Taken 2 do as well as Taken in the US but still, it's quite unfortunate indeed.

    If we were people looking for reasons to complain, we would also make a snapshot of the firework above the water in Taken 2 trailer and say "see, they even copied the firework they did above the water in Skyfall"... But here, we're talking about exact same location, quite unused until then as far as I know. In Assassin Creed, from what I saw, you see nothing close to what we see in Taken 2 and in Skyfall (the hard paths on the roofs that allow running and cycling).

    Bond just has to spin his magic. I am sure, he can and will though. I said, i am not happy with it and that is true but I doubt, people will think, Bond copied from Taken.
    In the end - its the story that carries a film and from what I know, there is not mjuch of that in Taken or was - even though I really enjoyed part 1. Not sure, there is need to see the same again...
