Anybody remember a website that had a bunch of photos taken at a Bond fan's mini museum of props inside his own house? I remember he had a Zorin Industries cheque among other things. Just wanted to look at those photos again.

Not sure, I know Dave Z from the ajb forum has a mini museum in his house. I check his blog occasionally, he's got heaps of awesome stuff, and more pics on the forum.

Was checking the DAD quotes and this exchange popped up, one I don't remember hearing at all, and isn't part of the script, apparently:

Zao: "It appears we are equal... in the eyes of spies."
James Bond: "Equal... but not even."

I quite like it, but was it from a deleted scene, perhaps a line from a trailer that didn't make the finished product?

Something I pondered on driving to work this morning.

How did TMWTGG end up performing so poorly at the box office? Were movie critics as popular now as they were then? Was it just word of mouth? LALD made $161 million and TMWTGG only made 98.

    Thank you @Thunderfinger and @Birdleson

I have changed the two in question:

    Group "OTT, fun"
    Goldfinger
    You Only Live Twice
    Diamonds Are Forever
    Live And Let Die
The Man With The Golden Gun
    The Spy Who Loved Me
    Moonraker
    Octopussy
    A View To A Kill
    Tomorrow Never Dies
    Die Another Day
    Spectre

    Group "hard, serious"
    Dr. No
    From Russia With Love
    Thunderball
    On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    For Your Eyes Only
    The Living Daylights
    Licence To Kill
    GoldenEye
    The World Is Not Enough
    Casino Royale
    Quantum Of Solace
    Skyfall

What I find interesting now is that both groups have 12 movies in it. Obviously mainly due to Mr. Moore's more fun and fantastic Bond films.
Still, except for Mr. Dalton and Mr. Lazenby, all the Bond actors have at least one in the OTT fun group.

I am also noticing that the OTT fun films have become much less since 1987. Only three of 10 films since then are there.

Thanks again, now I will be able to do a ranking, two rankings respectively.
Because before I really couldn't rank the films. I seem unable to compare or rank two films like Moonraker and Quantum Of Solace for instance.

I can see on this forum, that rankings are hugely popular. I like to participate in doing some lists in the respective threads.

In addition I can tell you that I have seen all the Bond films in a seemingly random order when they were shown to me in winter/spring 2017.
But when I look at the order I have seen them then it's 11 from the OTT fun group I've seen before seeing any of the hard+serious group except for Thunderball which I've seen as 6th film.

Part of the fun, after doing a few chronological Bond-A-Thons, id coming up with interesting orders to watch them in. I am currently watching the films in the order of Fleming's novels and short stories in conjunction with reading them (not the first time I've done it this way).

I will add that I think GE and SF can fit comfortably in either category.

Yes, that certainly is an interesting way of watching the Bond films, @Birdleson. I may have to try that some time.

I still need to do a black and white Bondathon. I could go for another Bondathon in reverse order, too.

    I've done those.

I remember tweaking the color settings on my TV for the finale of YOLT when you and I were watching it one time, I just never went past that and applied it to all the films. Maybe when I get the interest for another Bondathon, I'll do a regular one then follow it up with that eventually.

I don't have time anymore for forum-wide things like that, unfortunately. If I did it, it'd be something I'd have to knock out in a weekend.

Well, the black and white Bondathon is a proposed idea, but that's all it is at the current moment. It would happen only when enough people were interested in doing it the same as the original Bondathon. As with all these sorts of things, schedules are hard to balance.

How about watching them in negative?

Oh, sorry. I thought it was going ahead.

That's funny, I remember reading it somewhere recently too, but couldn't remember it in the film either. I assume the "Your time will come/Not as soon as yours" exchange replaced it. How come? It certainly is the better dialogue.

It's an interresting question. Even rewatch trailers of the film, I can't find it. (You have a script of this film ?).

I can find the 'eyes of spies' line on several quote sites. Maybe it's just that someone heard the dialogue incorrectly, and it spread across the sites. Or maybe it's actually from Raymond Benson's adaptation novel?

With DAD, intelligent exchanges had no place in the final product.

There are one or two gems in there. A personal favourite is M's reply to Falco, "It's what he's trained to do". Robinson's reaction to that line is the same as mine.

Does anyone know if there is a video online of the Bloodstone install screen? The PC version plays a neat looping animation during installation, and I can't seem to find a video of it anywhere. There are how-to videos that show the screen during the process, but these usually have a bunch of install windows blocking it. I want to find either a video or a gif that focuses in on it full screen.

Oh please. You know the likes of "Yo mama" and "I don't like cockfights" were secretly included into the script by some of the world's greatest scholars.

Perhaps she should've said "Yo Momma, Bro!"

I must admit that I never hated "Yo momma" as much as other people do...but the initial "dialogue" between Jinx and Bond is bad enough to make you cringe for the length of about four or five full-feature movies. And it's just part of the entire mess.

That's easy for you to say - you don't have to live with my Momma!

Still, I agree here, it doesn't bother me. If I were to defend the line, Jinx is just saying whatever to prolong the interrogation, and because she knows she'll be killed afterwards.

I would, but I don't have the PC version anymore. It didn't run on my old computer, so I returned it. I only have the PS3 version now.

In TMWTGG when Bond meets Miss Anders for the first time, why didn't she tell Bond that she had sent the bullet?
  • edited December 2017 Posts: 850
Hum, hum, hum, let's talk about James Bond Jr. I have watched all the show recently, the 65 episodes, but there is a scene in the title sequence that I don't remember to see in any episode (and I have a good memory) !

    wOm2PNq.png

In this scene, Bond Jr. seem to run for escape a combine harvester driven by Baron Von Skaron (?). Impossible to find a trace of it in the show (even knowing that the title sequence take is pictures from 3 episodes : The Eiffel missile, Earthcracker and Live and Let's Dance).

So, do somebody know what is this scene ? Where it's come from ? Could it be it's a possible deleted scene or an unaired episode ?

Because she needed Bond to think Scaramanga sent it.

She wanted him dead, and knew Bond would go after him and kill him before Scaramanga kills him.

    Bond was her weapon .

That's it! And I can see the cheque in a photo, though I think there may have a been a clearer picture of it available in the past. Many thanks, @QBranch

Yeah, but she had everything to lose by not immediately getting protected. And Bond would at the very least gain intel on Scaramanga by finding him.
