I'm pretty sure we did that one already. Actually I think it was fairly recent. I'm pretty sure YOLT won.

What I think would be useful is for an enterprising member of the MI6 community (one of the researchers in the Service as opposed to the field agents) to go back and list in film order (with DN 1 and QoS 22) each of the competitions that have been done so far and which fim won. The first would be DN (1) v GF (3) with DN winning. Then the next competion with DN. Then after all the DNs we would go to FRWL (2) v TB (4) with FRWL winning and all the other FRWLs. We would then have a better idea of what's been done already. Anyone up to the task?

Has FRWL vs DAD been done yet?

That would be pointless, because DAD would obviously win.

    It's a joke. Trust me.

Said it before - and being serious - that one or two will indeed not like From Russia With Love and think it is the James Bond equivalent of Police Academy V, and hold Die Another Day in high regard, it could be closer than people think, wasn't there about three or four appreciation threads about DAD about a few weeks ago I remember seeing, it must have something going for it, I don't think it would be the rout some would be expecting

If not that, then maybe Daylights VS Casino Royale maybe - that would be a more appropriate contest

It's FRWL. A masterpiece. Against DAD. Do the math.
I know that - but some people don't,.. i.e, they favor Die Another Day over the other, being serious!

I'll always vote Moonraker over Goldfinger for instance and being quite serious with it, so these things can happen, you'd be surprised

No. He's laying in the brig after too many wenches and rum. Give him a few more hours.

Yeah it says on his profile he's only been inactive for a day, give him a chance.

But...that would mean...THAT MEMBERS HAVE LIVES OUTSIDE THIS FORUM!!! WHAAAAA?! :O
  • Short of the brig, sounds to me like he's having fun. But then again, the brig is as good a place to crash as any after too much rum. Rum and wenching, now that's my idea of entertainment.

I'm not too sure about that. I haven't seen the sun for some time now. I even forget what it looks like. Was it blue? Orange? Purple? Oh, yeah, and wasn't it shaped like a rhombus? Or was it a trapezoid? Sh*t... I can't remember... ;)

We should move on. Someone figure out who won. Until Beast returns, I suggest we go with my suggestion of the FRWL vs DAD matchup.

I vote for FRWL because I have a functional brain.

    It's a draw thus far.

I know we joke, but in all honesty, someone, somewhere out there, prefers DAD over FRWL.

We're still on TSWLM v GE? What's the vote so far?

@DB5, apparently, it's tied, but @00Beast hosts this thread, so we can't necessarily move on until he returns, and we have more people vote.

Is there such thing as a draw on these Bond movie rounds, I'm guessing that would keep some people content and everyone goes home happy etc. Or does it have to be an actual winner each time, because as it stands we are tied on 22 votes a piece for the current rounds

I say we should call it a tie. It wouldn't be fair for the next TSWLM or the next GE to march in and decide the entirety of the competition, based on speed of entry. I say we call it a tie and come to a mutual agreement on what to move on with. That, or we let this thread die down until @00Beast's return.

We've had ties before (TSWLM v FYEO). I haven't voted on this competition, but I don't have strong feelings either for or against either film, so I'm content to let both sides declare victory and move on.

Are you still accepting votes? Being new to this site, perhaps you'll allow a late filing. If so, I have to go with...................Goldeneye. Without hesitation.

Then again, I don't want to upset the delicate balance of power that might exist around here, so your call lads and ladies.

@Grinderman, I already like you. No, we've been stuck on a tie for quite some time now, and the perhaps who is supposed to end voting and start a new one isn't here, so it looks like GE has the lead.

Well in that case I'll put in my vote for GE as well, if for no other reason than I find all the Moore movies silly.
I think I voted for Spy initially, but now that I think about it, these two are quite so evenly matched, I think a draw or tie would be the best way forward if that can be allowed. When Beast returns he can make that decision but I did have trouble choosing between them, and they're both good Bond releases that are hard to choose between, so maybe a draw would be a fair result etc

It appears GE has taken the lead now, though.
