The virus has hit my inner circle. A friend of mine tested positive on Monday. I have not been around him in months, but his daughter and mine are good friends and have been in contact quite a lot in recent weeks.

My daughter is young and healthy, and I am not concerned for her. But if I contract this I am likely a goner, due to underlying health problems. But it would be okay. My kids would be left with a massive amount of money from my life insurance, enough to get them through college and then some.

I understand your fear. I've lost three friends from this damned thing, and while I wasn't considered high risk, both of my parents are.

My sympathies for your loss, @TripAces

Count on Thunderfinger to link to yet another anti-semitic conspiracy fantasist (theorist is too scientifically-sounding) spewing utter nonsense when the rest of the board is trying to talk sense.

'Blondet has been criticized by anti-hate speech groups
such as Milan-based Osservatorio Antisemitismo for
his allegedly anti-Semitic views. In 2002, Blondet
    published a book titled “9/11, U.S. coup” (“11
Settembre, colpo di stato in Usa”), in which he
asserted that the 9/11 terror attacks were perpetrated
by “the neocon, pro-Israeli extremists of the Jewish
lobby in the U.S.” (“i neoconservatori, estremisti filoisraeliani della lobby ebraica in Usa”).'

    https://www.newsguardtech.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/MaurizioBlondet.it-with-boxes.pdf (page 1)

And as for coronavirus, page 2 of the same document:

'In one such article, titled “Two things about the
coronavirus,” (“Due cose sul coronavirus”), the site
stated that the virus “may have been engineered in
order to sell a vaccine, which is already ready”
(“potrebbe aver creato il virus per vendere il vaccino,
che pare sia già pronto”). The article also quoted from
InfoWars.com, a site run by conspiracy theorist and
radio host Alex Jones, which said that the Pirbright
Institute, a U.K. research institute, “owns the patent to
the deadly virus and are working on a vaccine to solve
the crisis,” adding that “suspiciously, the Pirbright
Institute ‘primary funderʼ is the Bill and Melinda Gates
    Foundation.”'

It's the source that counts... and there is a pattern to your sources, even if in this case they may only replicate official documents. I wouldn't refer to an anti-semitic or fascist website even if they only said that two plus two makes four.

Apart from that, what's wrong with that roadmap? Maybe with vaccination in general? I'm all for it, mandatory and everything. We'd still have smallpox and polio without that, and we won't beat Covid-19 without it. Keep the vaccine coming.

To update the situation in the US:

Several states have now paused their re-openings (or re-imposed restrictions) in light of recent COVID-19 spikes in cases and hospitalizations. Even here in New York, where the reported number of new cases continues to decline, the governor is re-considering the schedule to lift some of the restrictions on indoor dining. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised, if the planned phase 3 of New York City’s re-opening – scheduled for next week – was delayed (the city entered phase 2 on June 22nd).

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/29/nyregion/Coronavirus-restaurants-reopening-ny-nj.html?action=click&module=Top Stories&pgtype=Homepage

…Epidemiologists say that eating indoors poses a particularly high risk for transmitting the virus even if certain precautions — spacing out seats, making sure ventilation is adequate, ensuring that employees observe strict hygiene practices — are taken.

“As soon as you get into indoor dining, your mask comes off and you have the potential for aerosols to be generated not only from breathing and talking but also from eating,” said Krystal Pollitt, an assistant professor of epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health. “It’s a higher-risk activity”….

In other news, Broadway will remain closed for the rest of this year. As some have noted, re-opening at a limited capacity would mean – in effect – that many shows would automatically operate at a loss. Earlier, there was talk of a September re-opening. But no longer.

Quite a lot, really. they plan to take 3 years, that is THREE YEARS to come up with a common vaccine passport!!! If anything this show the EC is as sluggish and slow an institution as all those criticasters have stated time and time again.

Not that we don't need the vaccines, but we DO need an institute that actually can deliver quite a bit faster.

Is that a coca leave per chance?

@TripAces stay safe! Even though you may have an underlaying condition, it doesn't mean covid19, or the specific strand that your friend has, also affects you. And even if it does, IC's are not full yet, so you stand a very good chance of getting through if you catch it/ have cought it. Just don't catch it when the IC's have filled up, because that's when your chances are getting far worse.

The daily death toll in the US is still low compared to the new cases because of 1. the delay in development of the disease and 2, hospitals are still able to cope. But with the increase in numbers as it's going now, that'll soon be completely different. And more than 1000 deaths a day will return.

Good luck to all Americans. North- and South.

Optimism, yes. Remember it affects different people differently, and some not at all. The odds are our favour.

I don t care what third or fourth party an upload has been through as long as it s official. As you maybe noticed, I linked to the official EC site later. Same document. Never said there was anything wrong with it. Isn t this relevant information in this situation? Certainly more relevant than articles about jews and 9/11 that you felt compelled to read about and post on this corona virus thread.. I don t read Italian myself, so I can only take your word for it .

And if you are for mandatory vaccination, you re the fascist.

And if you are for mandatory vaccination, you re the fascist.

And if you're against vaccination as an effective tool to combat the spread of polio, pox, and now COVID-19, you're ... several different kinds of wrong. (I'm trying to be nice here.)

Never sent a link to that site? Then why are you having to defend that link (deleted here to save space) in your conversation w/ @j_ w_pepper?

Well, we don't need people to be thankful, we just need people to get vaccinated so they don't start spreading polio again. ;P
