    It really does feel like we lost a family member, a beloved one at that. This will take some time to process really.

    Very sad day! I have known this day was coming, but have always hoped it wouldn't be here for a while longer. Sir Roger was definitely the first one who pulled me into the wonderful world of Bond. Seeing LALD, TSWLM, and MR as a kid got me hooked. He always seemed to have a great sense of humor in whatever he was doing. One of my favorite Sir Rog stories was on the audio track to TMWTGG, when he discussed filming the scene of the escape from the ninja compound with the rickety longtail boats. He was saying how he was embarrassed to have pushed that child off of the boat into the water while he was now an ambassador for UNICEF. If you haven't listened to the audio track do yourself a favor and do it. It's worth a laugh or two at least.

    RIP Sir Roger. A true Gentleman has taken his final bow and exit. He was the first Bond I watched in cinema in 1983.

    Well, I knew that at some point something had to give, but I'm still crying writing this. A truly wonderful actor and someone who didn't deserve cancer.

    This is a very difficult moment for me, as I'm sure it is for all of you. The influence Roger had on our lives is a great one. It's just so hard for me to grasp right now that one of the 6 has departed the Earth. Waking up to this news was not fun at all.

    My thoughts are with the family of Roger today. I think a Moore Bondathon is on order for today after I do something else for a while to get my bearings. If I would do it immediately, I'd probably be an inconsolable sobbing wreck.

    RIP Sir Roger, and thanks for the wonderful 7 movies you gave us as Bond. May no one do more than you.

    Same. Usually celebrity deaths don't bother me (Anton Senna is the only one that I remember really having an impact) but this one has. Can't believe he's actually gone.

    I tried to be philosophical when I heard the news this afternoon. I have had texts from a few friends who knew I would care about this but the tone was measured. It was not until reading the comments above that I realised that I am mourning Sir Roger in a way that I have not done for a famous person before. I don't quite know how to feel about this.

    Couldn't believe the news. Who ever would have thought that we'd lose one of 6 heroes. Totally shocking news. Very sad, very upset but shall certainly be celebrating the great man's life and achievements throughout the week.

    He always seemed like such a genuinely kind person, like a kid at heart. You could tell that he was very proud of his work as Bond and that he had the time of his life doing it. RIP Sir Roger Moore.

    The Sir Roger you see on TV is the real Sir Roger .

    You know what we should do? Put a few quid each in the pot for UNICEF in his honour. I wonder if there's a way of starting an MI6 Forum fund?

    I wanted to watch The Man with the Golden Gun in his honour but I just can't. I've played all of his seven Bond soundtracks non-stop in my car today.

    I'm Canadian, Sir Rog has many fans over here. What can I say that hasn't been said already? Tons of good memories to cherish. We, the livings, should be grateful to have had a Sir Rog in our lifetime.

    My most sincere condolances to everyone sadden by his passing.

    If anyone is able, I recommend the piece BBC news are running about RM. It is really good and features interview clips from the great man himself. Despite the coverage of the Manchester outrage, they still seem to be running it.

    Thank you, Roger Moore, for all the years, and all the people who became Bond fans with one of your movies. Thanks for being the ambassador of all things Bond in the last decades of your life. Thanks for not taking yourself too seriously in those seven Bond movies you did, more movies than anyone else. We'll always fondly remember your charm and wit, and even those times you revealed a more serious side of the spy we we all love. It's hard to believe you are gone, a part of me always assumed that each of the gentlemen that played Bond would never die, forever flipping the bird to death as 007 himself always did. But of course in one way, you will never die, we'll always have the movies and future generations will have them too. Rest In Peace, Mr. Moore. The world was not enough for you.

    RIP Sir Roger. Suppose it had to happen eventually but still seems surreal that one of the Bonds is no longer alive. Still at almost 90 he had a great innings

    Very sad news indeed to hear about the passing of Sir Roger Moore. His legacy will live on through his 7 films he made playing Bond and all his other work on screen and for UNICEF. Sir Rogers Bond films are some of my most watched when I need to be entertained with a globe trotting adventure. He has left us 7 different Bond films to be enjoyed by us and all the generations to come.
