I just watched the Living Daylights and I'm not sure what the communities opinion is on it. It's in my top 5 because I think it's amazingly well rounded. It's got the action, hard bond, cool villains, and a great story that makes it feel like a return to Fleming after a long fun roger Moore detour

I currently have it ranked at #6, it's a good Bond film.

It is, but I think it drags a bit sometimes. The plot occasionally feels a bit dull and inconsequential too.

I feel it has weak villains, a dull Bond girl, & the Afghan base idea, while interesting, is not executed in a very exciting way. It's overall an average film to me, redeemed by the earlier half in Eastern and Western Europe.

I remember reading a review from someone who said that the plot was merely an excuse for globe trotting. It kind of is. It does certainly try to take on a more plot-focused narrative, but at times it just seems a bit flat.

    Choosing a bottom 5 is easy - it's choosing a top 5 that's hard.

That's pretty much to. But I like the villains.

Guess everyone has a different take. I love the movie...have it at No. 2, but I think the villians are in the bottom-tier of the franchise. Just a couple of fun-loving guys who like women and money. Necros is a terrific henchman though.

He is cool the problem is , he doesn't really do anything before he's killed in a super cool way

    Worst

    Diamonds are Forever
The Man With the Golden Gun

LTK (This was a tough one; as much as I admire what it tried to do,
in the end it looks, and feels like a TV movie.

We have almost the same top 5 but we have almost a complete different bitten 5. I can see diamonds I hate that one then SPECTRE I quite enjoyed as well as LTK which I quite like and YOLT which is a fun silly adventure all be it with a terrible Sean connery

Does enough for me. Henchmen really only get 2-3 cracks at anything. Breaks Koskov out of the compound with earbuds, milk bottles and a walktie-talkie. Kills Saunders. Dies in a super cool way. #shouldhavegrabbedthenet

I feel like every bond film fits into one of three categories. amaizng, good, or bad.
Amaizng would be your caisno Royale, frwl Goldfinger, the Living Daylights , good films would be for Your Eyes only, live and Let Die, TND, YOLT, and the bad ones would be Thunderball, skyfall, die another day, the world is not enough

The thing is they ALL have some good elements that in some way make them entertaining.

Something I have long said about the series. ALL of the films have good if not great parts to them. Some more than others. And ALL of the actors who have played Bond, have also brought something to the role.

I agree 100% - there is not a single entry that failed to entertain me nor any actor who really "failed" in the role.

I agree as well. As I'm typing this down I realize I've been too critical of some entries even though they hold up well to the majority of other films I've seen.

Well yeah that's true I don't hate any installment but these discussions are more about seeing what's perfect Bond and what's less so

The bottom five were the hardest to pick for me. That's not to say that there isn't anything I enjoy in those films.

@BMW_with_missiles, you've got my two favorites from Rog and four of my top 10s in your bottom 5! To your credit, I can't fault your top 5 (apart from your "yup" ;) )

Looks like CR makes most lists. I have to say I could only watch one last Bond, that would the one.
