Is it just me, or this Gun Barrel looks like CGI? Bond's movement is too fast and the GB itself do not have any animation. I won't be surprised if this turns out to be the 007 LEGENDS Gun Barrel design. ;)

I think Fiennes will be M. Should make a good one.

I did think Craig looked wierd in the GB. Y'know, you might be onto something there @marketto007

If it is CGI, I don't think they'll use it in the film.

Pretty certain about that. Dame Judi Dench is 77 Mach2Infinity. She portrayed M 7 times (Bernard Lee did so 11 times), but there comes a time that you want to enjoy your retirement.....even as an actor.

Yes I know, I suppose back in the day films were a little less complex and production could be wrapped (pre-production to principal photogtraphy to post-production) in a shorter space of time. Hence why Mr. Lee managed more films. But as you rightly pointed out, age isn't on her side unfortunately and given her occular condition, I highly doubt she'll return. But I've read she has a larger role in SF so at least she'll bow out having shared more screentime.

Fiennes as Blofeld would equal Heath Ledger as Joker in terms of great casting. To me, the fact he has already mentioned that his role is "darkly complex" and fun and interesting" rules him being out the new M which is king of a standard and limited role with little scope for fun. But i,m just happy he's in the cast as he's one of my favourite, "would have made a great Bond" actors.

What do you make of it?

I don't agree that just because a role is "darkly complex" and "fun and interesting" that he cannot be referring to M. If he's taking over then perhaps it'll be a slightly different spin on the character. Plus Fiennes is young enough that they can do quite a few films with him as M even after Craig retires from the role.

Pardon me for being slightly off-topic.

I'd have to agree I don't think Fiennes comments rule out him being M and will be disappointed if he's shown as the big bad behind the curtain at the end, Bardem is the villain and that should be enough, I really hope RF is the new M as he's perfect for the role.

As for the GB in Skyfall I'm pretty sure it will be at the beginning and I can't wait to see it there because Craig has earned it but I saw it's reasoning for being positioned where it was with CR & QOS.

If you hadn't of incorporated it into the titles then it shouldn't have been anywhere else it just wouldn't have made sense at the beginning and as QOS picks up straight after CR and to me was a continuation of that story so using it at the end made perfect sense whether people feel miffed they didn't get their usual fix.

    I'd only have two nickels.
  • as it's the half century release and such a big event, the least they could do is have the traditional gun barrel, seen in every Bond film up to 1999, i.e. no CGI crap, and certainly not at the end or directly before the opening credits as we have seen recently. It's not much to ask is it ?
  • It'll be right at the beginning - I have no doubt.

Well if we believe Twitter, we were wrong. It's not at the start.

So all that "it was at the end in QOS for a reason! It'll be at the start now!!!" was apparently BS.

who is saying the gun barrel is at the end. theres no way it can be, if it is, then it doesnt make scence. i doubt they would do that, someone is messing around to stir trouble.

qos had gun barrel at end for a reason, to finish both casino and quantum. so skyfall is a new chapter why would it end with it .

    At the end again.

Owen, please can i ask where you are getting the information that the gun barrel is at the end. I just dont see how sam mendes or anyone else would let that happen. If its at the end, they clearly havent listened to all the bond fans and that is not good.

Im not saying your liying or anything. I jsut cannot get my head around it at the end.

SKYFALL might get 5 stars but i feel very upset now and its made me sad and angry.

    Heres why
No gun barrel at the start is crazy. So they havent listened to all the fans. I will be sure telling them all this aswell. Im a true bond fan and im sad to say the least. I was extreamly excited for skyfall, but even just a tiny gun barrel has made me not looking forward to it much. Sorry, but i have been worried about this for four years and they have made my worst nightmare. Rrrrrrrrr. I must be a realy big fan to nearly cry over the gun barrel not opening. So the twitter user is saying. Still not convinced. Everyone might think im stupid getting wound up over a thing like this, but i just cannot get over this. I need some questions answered if its true.

  • I'm still can't frickin' wait for SF. But yeah this dampers the excitement for me too!

Who cares if there aint no gun barrel at the start as long as the film's good which from first reactions appears to be the case.

Because it makes it a little less classic Bond. But still looking forward to it! :)

I agree. Although, I am disappointed:
A.) It's still in the movie.
B.) The movie still looks kick ass, and according to reviews, it is.
C.) It is a little extreme to hate a film because a 20 second clip is in a different spot.

Only one person has twitted about this. It might not be true. Get yourself over to the SKYFALL clip thread and watch a brilliant 51sec clip. Full of tense drama...that might cheer you up!

I feel like punching every single person who was part of the decision making process to not have the GB at the start in the bloody face.

Look, i understand the film is the main thing Yes. Im glad its getting amazing reviews, but the no gun barrel opening makes it less exciting. Michael wilson said why fix something if it ain broken, well they have just ruined it for me. 50th anniversary aswell. I need answers why its at the end.
