Surprisingly no Christoph Waltz mentioned which will not break my heart at all if he doesn't return! I actually would like to see a female main villain this time.

I'm caught between being excited at these developments - as it proves that things have been tipping along nicely - and being both extremely unsurprised at and wary of Swann's return.

I'm sure they have an ace up their sleeve regards the reason for her return.

No to Brofeld. Not surprised at all that the MI6 gang is back. Just pray like most they’re in it briefly. Love Lea Seydoux but it doesn’t state she’s the main Bond girl so who knows... personally I’m hoping it’s a change of scene/pace, like seeing Seydoux in a bikini on a tropical island... she can still be smart, just sex her the hell up (it will take little effort)... no one should be complaining.

The last thing I’m gonna do is complain about any cast members returning. I’m so stoked things are finally shaping up.

SP might retrospectively end up being an above par Bond film if they're able to intelligently finish off the story. Like a reverse CR/QoS situation. Great news!

Bond 25 may redeem the actors, and their characters, but it won’t make SP a better film.

Agreed. I trust CF to deliver. If Mendes was returning to direct tgen I'd have no interest in this film what so ever.

    Daniel craig looks tired.
How can he get back up and fit mentally and physically to play james bond.?
Does he looks past it now ? Yes or no ?
Should he have quit ? Yes or no ?
Is he just doing b25 for the money ? Yes or no ?

True. She could be back in any capacity. Even if it's not a standalone story, seeing what Fukanaga does with dangling SPECTRE plot threads will still be something to look forward to, even if it's as much down to curiosity than excitement.

Please don't start this nonsense again. Just go back a half dozen pages and see how we all feel about this particular issue.

Craig is an actor, which requires him to play different characters who all require different looks. When the time comes for him to be James Bond, then he will be James Bond.

Great with rumours, but don't know if this is one rumour I'd like to come true. Don't mind Lea Seydoux, but the chemistry with Craig wasn't there at all, IMO.

Re-editing my post above, this rings entirely true. This was a very specific leak. I'd bet my house she's in 25 (for how long, who knows?); maybe she and Craig, with a new director, will have some connection? Some spark?

If Seydoux returns, then I wonder how much part of the story the character of Madeleine Swann will have – and being the the daughter of Mr. White, if Spectre will too. My first reaction was that this might end up as some sort of revenge driven plot…

I wonder if she gets killed off early then it sets the events of the YOLT novel into order

Maybe they can kill her off Pre-Pre-Titles.

She can be the one Bond shoots at in the gun barrel. Offscreen and unseen.

He wasn't much of a James bond in spectre acting wise. He looked bored at times.
Everyone knows he doesn't care for making bond films anymore.
He's 50 and has to work out for 4 months to get his physique back which is damn hard work mentally and physically.
Do you think it's an easy thing to do. You go do it when you're 50.
Don't know how he does it.........

Love this pic. Really, I do. And it's quite old (and perhaps, possibly, is a part of something to do with KNIVES OUT); HOWEVER, there are more recent pics of DC online. Surely you can choose from them?

Remember that recent Omega ad? That really recent one-- that is how DC will look (or better), for 25.

If you're a Bond fan, especially in the modern era, why would you think that the leading actor would come to set looking like the above pic? Why?

    Makes no sense.

But makes perfect sense if hes playing a different role outside of 007 (heaven forbid).

Happy to get some big news anyway. It will at least put to rest the rumor of the returning MI6 gang, who will hopefully be used better in B25 than SP. I like all the actors, but SP didn’t use them the best. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Madeleine killed early either.

I stil would not rule out Waltz; as with the others, given the right material and direction, he can be incredible effective.

Wow, I sure wouldn't. Not those two. Never again.
  • As with others, I suppose there is the possibility B25 could retroactively redeem Spectre. I mean, to an extent. And Fleming's YOLT is looking more and more possible. As for Waltz, in the event he does return, he said himself he wasn't happy with his performance in Spectre. For Craig's big send-off and with CJK onboard, I don't think they're going to give us a straight rehash of Spectre either. I don't know just what we're in for, but Waltz and Seydoux are good actors (as are Fiennes, Harris, and Wishaw) and with everybody giving it their best, they could still make this work.

They might as well just call it SPECTRE and have Fukanaga do B25 as a shot for shot remake.

I was really hoping the new film would distance itself from the story arc B.S. and just get back to a traditional Bond film. For one thing, SP didn't exactly resonate with audiences or fans, and it's way too late now to continue that story. That should have been done in 2017. Audiences won't care now. The world has moved on from SP.

I think B25 will end up being the last Bond film for quite a long time. Not just like a 5 year gap, but more like 20. a'la INDY 4.

At least they were hilariously bad. Madeleine was just plain boring.

That's a thing? Not in my book. They were cringeworthy, to say the least. Made me embarrassed to be a Bond fan. Really.

Better have a bad Bond Girl around than something that tries to be a masterpiece then falls flat on her face you could hear the thump on the floor from the other side of the earth. Madeleine Swann is the latter.

Can't argue with any of this.

Spectre was Mendes's fault who had no clue/reason to do another after Skyfall. I firmly believe everything (even with these same characters) that it will be better. Hopefully no delays, no rewrites and issues.

I think this is a good view. I think, considering what we know and who we have in the directors chair, that Spectre will be used as a springboard for Bond 25 as opposed to a template. This obviously won't do much to quell the doubts of those who really disliked SP, of course - but I think Bond 25 will certainly be interesting and unique.
  • I guess it will be a direct sequel, then. Eh, after 5 years will the general public even remember Madeleine Swann?

This. As someone who feels SP is one of the weakest Bond films, I’m still going to stay excited for B25. They can make this very good still. We can get back to the traditional standalone pattern again post-Craig.
