Especially a job you already had. If his work is good enough and to Fukunaga's tastes, then he'll get the job.

Though, Eon have clearly moved on. I think Justin Hurwitz should get the gig. Then Cary Fukunaga would have essentially pinched all Damian Chazelle's crew. Though Sam Mendes basically did the same with Christopher Nolan......................

Though I think we need to break down the cast and speculate on roles - because A LOT of names were revealed. Some must have pretty measly screentime. For instance, I think it's fairly certain David Dencik will have a minor role.

Indeed. Here are Arnold's FILM credits since Quantum of Solace:

    Morning Glory (2010)
    Paul (2011)
    The In-Betweeners 2 (2014)
    Silence Is Golden (2016)

    What a resume.

What he’s done outside of Bond is irrelevant; on paper, Newman appear more impressive by arguably Arnold is better at Bond; his scores for CR and QOS are spectacular; I wouldn’t mind seeing him build on those for 25.

It is 100% relevant because his name is not going to be at the forefront of CJF's mind. Why in the HELL would he hire Arnold? This is CJF's film. He is going to hire the composer he thinks can score HIS film, and that person will not be David Arnold.
All this talk about Arnold is embarrassing., and what Arnold has been doing on Twitter in the pst few days is downright pathetic. The franchise has been elevated by Mendes, and Arnold is simply not good enough anymore. He will never work on a Bond film again.

Exactly. Hiring Arnold is like having Counting Crows do the theme song. Good back in the day but now culturally and musically irrelevant.

How do you know that person won't be Arnold? He has scored more Bond themes than any other composer over the past 20 odd years, he gets the Bond sound, and is most like John Barry. Why would the new director dismiss him just because it upsets you personally?

What if the girl being chased by the mask wearing villain in the Norway shoot turns out to be Madeline's child. Not with Bond - but with the scientist who gets kidnapped. So Bond has to rescue the scientist and Madeline's daughter from the clutches of the villain played by Malik. Just a thought.

I hope to have an action scene with Bond and Felix, à la the end of TMWTGG (novel) on the train. The only one I can remember was Sánchez's capture in LTK and there wasn't really much of Felix in action.

Also, I think Bond will feel obligued to help Felix, since he gave sanctuary to Lucia in SPECTRE.

I don't think Bond will bed or seduce anyone else in this film other than Madeleine.

If she dies in the film, and Bond ends up having sex with another girl, I feel that would be too disrespectful of Bond to do.
Forget that. The metoo movement will ensure that Bond goes sexless here. Bond should just shag his way through each mission. Alas that’s not allowed anymore. It’s so surprising that Babs would be so onboard with the metoo nonsense, considering she heads a series where the hero is basically a serial womanizer. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. It’s who Bond is. It’s part of his DNA. Even funnier seeing Michael nodding his head as Babs mentions metoo LOL! The poor guy is probably thinking “what’s Bond coming to?”

It's only a matter of time metoo/ feminism won't affect bond much. They can't undo what they did in SP so naturally it has to be a love story. I am sure bond being womanizer will continue with next bond.

As much as I like His score in CR & QOS , he is nowhere near Barry. Another thing is he scored in 5 films continuously but Barry came back even after new composers not because he did more but he kept his magic even other than bond films.

Yep, never goin to happen. Sassilive is just a local newspaper with insight on stuff happening in Matera, so regarding plot point they are clearly making up stuff. They suggested The Mater Spy as the title (LOL) plus Stone and Johnson as Bond girls... just saying...

@ggl007 How do you know Armas wasn't the first choice for her role? She's arguably the best casting for a Bond girl since Berenice Marlohe.

    You are being unfair.

He was invited to speak about his Bond scores amongst other things on radio today, and it's a fact that a lot of people ask him if he is doing the score.

Twitter is a way of reaching out to those people and answering their questions.
what Arnold has been doing on Twitter in the pst few days is downright pathetic.

No. It's called fanservice. And you ain't it!

You do know that Counting Crows had their day, 15 years before Arnold was doing his CR score?
to throw Arnold away because he hasn’t scored anything mainstream lately is ludicrous and irrelevant!! It’s also borderline childish.

Arnold knows and respects the template made by Barry and is by far the best composer we had since him. But some people just love to hate or/and point their fingers at someone.

I’m not sure if anyone’s spoke about it but if you look at the 007 Instagram, on their story are interviews with our two new Bond girls. Lynch mentions “fighting men” and the “use of firearms”.

De Armas describes her character as “not a damsel in distress. She doesn’t fall for Bond because he’s handsome or because its an affair. It’s more than that.” And she also briefly mentions relating to the character and the way Phoebe has written her. I’m paraphrasing somewhat but go check them out!

    So it's quite clear now.

Lashana Lynch plays Nomi, the MI6 agent.

Ana De Armas plays Paloma, the "accomplice" akin to Camille.

This bullet catcher joins BBC NEWS and fellow Bond fan Simon McCoy to talk BOND 25, what might be in store for this silver bullet and Daniel Craig's final spin of the dice, the best Bond and why 007 holds such global and cultural hold...

Always refreshing to hear your enthusiasm Mark, great interview, totally agree about the title, give us another moment they can reveal.

I think this is quite savvy on EON's part and apart from the likelihood of maybe other cast members not yet revealed and who is doing the title song, they'll have this to still spring on the world.

Us fans can be quite selfish and entitled at times, we should just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Interesting. I wonder what Paloma's relevance to the plot is. Is she connected to Rami's villain directly? Possibly the kidnapped scientist? She could be someone who tags along while Felix approaches Bond, and has a role akin to say.....Domino in Thunderball?

    All very exciting.

At this point it seems fairly clear there should be another big reveal before a trailer with the two car companies involved in production announcing the models involved (none of which have been confirmed yet), maybe alongside the title, once they're on more solid footing.

It's now confirmed that Lashana Lynch will play Nomi - she posted the news on Instagram.

Is there something I'm missing with Lashana Lynch? Her casting is a real headscratchier for me....

I'll confess I've only seen her in interviews and she seems charming. But is she a seriously talented actress? Because she only has a few credits but somehow got the attention of Marvel and Bond. So she must have something. Right?

This was clearly the role they sought Lupita Nyong'o for.....but something about Lynch seems a little off.

I'm fairly confident she's a capable actress @Pierce2Daniel. I might come off as shallow, but what I'm skeptical about is her look. Maybe it is because of her clothes (can't get over unflattering they are), but she comes off as rather plain and unsexy as a Bond girl. I thought the presenter looked hotter and more glamorous than her!

I think many are probably thinking the same thing. It seems likely that she's going to be playing a British agent and I doubt there's going to be a romantic relationship - the age gap kind of precludes it anyway. So I think this is going to be about a younger agent rubbing up against a seasoned pro and some steep learning for the rooky. She seems quite confident and assertive - hopefully she successfully mixes that with some more easy charm on screen.

I've never seen him in anything but the clips on here suggest to me that he will do a decent job. A tad young perhaps but I like his manner and his voice - has the potential to be a top notch creepy villain.

He looks younger than he is. Looks like 25 but is actually almost 40. Pretty sure he's gonna go down as one of our generations greatest considering he huge success with Freddie and Mr. Robot. I'm certain he'll be a highlight.

Getting great vibes from Rami Malek, I only saw Bohemian Rhapsody last Friday and although I have my reservations about aspects of that film, Malek certainly wasn't one of them.

Also, if waltz does return in an extended cameo I think he'll come back knowing he's got something to prove and CF will give him the direction Mendes couldn't.

Your comments about De Armas are inaccurate. She didn't take part in the photoshoot because she wasn't available. Nor was Billy Magnussen, his photo is taken from this shoot:

We knew about his casting weeks ago!

By all means, De Armas has been cast in this role for a while - however, Eon did a top job of keeping it top secret.

Who is the lead Bond girl though?!?!?

Maybe Malek will kill Blofeld straight away. Superior villainy taking over and acknowledgement that Brofeld was lame without going further into it.

Just don't find her attractive. I'm sure she's a decent actress though. Also, that blue outfit she had on was hideous IMO.
