I consider CR and SF Craig's classics which sit alongside Bond classics like FRWL, GF, OHMSS, TSWLM. Hoping Bond 25 joins the ranks.

Every element came together beautifully in Casino Royale and Skyfall. I love Skyfall, as much as when I frst saw it in the theatre. Both outstanding performances from Craig. Great supporting cast, script, everything.

I am honestly surprised we haven't gotten anything concrete yet this month. They really are staying tight-lipped on the news department. Hopefully they've got something special planned. Cannot wait for the press conference.

I'm pretty sure we only had rumours before Spectre's press conference. The title itself was heavily rumoured but only days before the press conference. The supporting actors like Monica Belluci were also rumoured, but it was never concrete.

And we are now probably still 5 weeks away from the press conference launch.

    Yes, this feels normal.

And frankly, I'd expect them to be extra secure with info on this film, given what happened on the last one. And given the problems/PR this one's had to suffer in the run-up, already.

    It's happening. Soon. Don't worry. :)

The million dollar question: will filming REALLY begin in just 45 days? To be honest, I’m starting to doubt it.

Yeah @PanchitoPistoles of course filming won't start in 45 days cause eon are skipping bond 25 and going ahead with your fantasy Christopher Nolan Bond 26

The difference is SP had a 3 year gap, whereas Bond 25 has a 4 year and 4 month gap.

    It's not like for like.

Why doubt? Because there's been no rumours? After being embarrassed by the leaks fiasco with Spectre, I'm not surprised that EON's keeping quiet this time round.

As if without the leaks they would be loose lipped? I have never understood this rationale.

You are essentially saying there were more leaks before the filming of CR or QOS or SF because EON wanted more leaks back then. There are things EON can not control. It is highly unusual that we have had this few leaks this time.

Especially when there hasn't been a Bond film in over 3 years.

It was only 6 weeks ago that we got the word that Lea Seydoux was returning. So it seems production is underway, also Fukunaga's girlfriend is in London and was seemingly with him location scouting in Westminster if her Instagram story from yesterday is considered.

I think it will be worth keeping an eye on Kristen Froseth's Instagram - she's clearly spending a lot of time with Fukunaga. It was only yesterday that she started following British actress, Aiysha Hart. Perhaps, this is the new Bond girl?

There is also the chance that the two roles that Justin Kroll mentioned - the MI6 agent and the mysterious woman - are minor parts and Seydoux is the lead Bond girl again. In which case, if you think about it Rami Malek and her would be pretty much the principle cast confirmed....so we haven't really had a lack of news at all.

Anyway...Fukunaga is nominated for a PGA award tomorrow. We may see him - though, if it is full-steam ahead on Bond 25, he could be too busy. A good indicator either way:

I wouldn't put SF and TSWLM in the same category with CR, FRWL, GF and OHMSS. They are good films, but I'd sooner go for TB and TLD.

Re: Bond 25 - I doubt Lea Seydoux is back only for a few minutes of screentime. I think there will be a lot more going on around her.

I could totally see her being cast.

They can't be location scouting. I would of thought all the locations would have been locked in by December. Do you think this shoot will last as long as Spectre?

    It depends on the script.

If they start filming in march they would probably want to be done by august or September at the latest and use the remainder of the year for post production. Looks similar to the duration of the casino royale shoot

Slightly off topic but I would really like to see this "mystery woman", that people have discussed as a possible villain, is a villain (more likely henchman). We have yet to see the Fiona Volpe of the Craig-era. Why not now?

It's worth noting that the "mystery" isn't a character attribute, it was merely a term Variety used to describe an unknown role.

That said, we're definitely due for a female villain, but I doubt it'll happen this time around.

Oh of course, a lot of this villain talk is wishful thinking and rightly so :D

I remember her from the brilliant Line of duty series. She'd be great casting.

Location scouting will continue well into principle photography. Big films rarely lock all their locations before filming kicks off because it is usually such a big job and locking down a location, for example if there will be stunts or gun-play or explosions etc., can take a long time to arrange. The location managers are on full time duty to find remaining locations, lock them down, and also make sure there are back ups for any eventuality. And the script will be tweaked and/or the staging altered so the action and the location sync.

I'm sure that some location scouting is usually done after filming has started, but the vast majority of location scouting is easily done before principal photography. That was the case with both Skyfall and Spectre.

The major lack of location rumours makes me think that either the movie will be delayed again or the production will be even more Pinewood based than usual.
