  The article is playing it only bit of an unknowing/unresearched narrative. Both Law and Downey are strongly attached, as is Lionel Wigram and Guy Ritchie. One of Downey’s production companies is executive producing and even have hired 20 various writers to form an epic script.

  Well a script has been getting worked on for quite some time; they had plans to film this before RDJ went off to shoot those Avengers movies, but it didn't pan out. So if anything, there's no excuse for this one to have a bad script with all this time having passed.

  I think it was mainly down to the cast being available; Jude Law has been rather busy these past few years, and RDJ's had a lot of time taken up with all the superhero movies.

  I see. Here's hoping his career as a star survives the inevitable end of his tenure as Iron Man. He's one of the best stars working today.

  The upcoming big screen adaptation of The Six Billion Dollar Man, starring Mark Wahlberg in the lead role, has lost its director, Damian Szifron, due to 'creative differences'.
  
  But it seems they already have a replacement lined up for directing duties in the person of Mel Gibson, who Wahlberg has already been advocating to join the cast in the role of Oscar Goldman, the government mentor of Colonel Steve Austin. Not forgetting Gibson has recently chosen Wahlberg in the lead role for his WW2 film Destroyer.

  Makes me happy to see Burt Reynolds getting yet another big film under his belt at the age of 82. Man's a legend.

  I can see Gibson as Goldman. I wonder it there are plans for a Bionic Woman after this. I hope so.

  Don't listen to @Thunderfinger he just doesn't have good taste ;)
  These films are something I grew up watching so it's easy for me to love them and still enjoy them from time to time. If I were to watch them for the first time as an adult, I can't say that I would like them as much. They are very goofy and cheesy, but fun.
